This recently remodeled two-story home is located in Annandale, a rural town one hour west of the Twin Cities, that is known as the “Heart of the Lakes”. There are over 25 lakes within 15 minutes of town including some of the top fishing and recreation lakes in the area – Clearwater, Sylvia, Pleasant, Cedar, Sugar, etc. This property is ½ block from a large city park with playground, pavilion, and ball fields. It is only one block to the public beach, fishing pier, and boat landing on Pleasant Lake. And it is only a short three block walk to downtown Annandale with its shopping and dining.
The house was recently renovated including a major addition and is well-suited for a family or group visiting the Annandale area. There are three bedrooms upstairs including a large master bedroom with private bath, DirectTV, and deck. The main floor has a full kitchen, dining room, living room w/ wood-burning fireplace, and TV room/extra bedroom. It also has a heated porch off the kitchen and a screen porch off the living room each with a bed. There is a patio and a two-car garage for guests to use.
The entire house has Culligan soft water.
The Annandale area is teeming with activities and points of interest. There are three golf courses, Southbrook (18 holes), Whispering Pines (18 holes), and the Albion Ridges “links” course (27 holes), all within a 5-15 minute drive. The Powder Ridge ski area and Millner Heritage winery are also only a short 15 minute drive from town. The numerous lakes in the area provide opportunities for all types of water activities, such as kayaking on the nearby Mississippi River. Clearwater and Sylvia are among the best fishing lakes in central Minnesota. Annandale is also known for its huge 4th of July celebration and its annual Triathlon. And the Wright County Swapper’s Meet, one of the largest “flea markets” in the state, is located just outside of town and operates every Saturday from April through October. Snowmobile enthusiasts are only minutes away from access to Minnesota's extensive trail system.
You can stay in a small town, away from the hustle and bustle of a big city, yet you are close enough to sample all a big city has to offer. It is only 30 minutes to the city of St. Cloud, home of St. Cloud State University. And the Twin Cities Metro area is only a one hour drive away. The attractions there include Valley Fair, the Minnesota Zoo, Guthrie Theatre, Walker Art Center, Science Museum of MN, Renaissance Festival, professional sports (Twins, Vikings, Wild, Timberwolves, Lynx), and many others. Shoppers can visit the Mall of America, the Albertville Outlet Mall, and Cabella’s as well as many other shops and malls. And for those who prefer not to drive into the metro area, the commuter train station in Big Lake is only 25 minutes away.
Annandale is a wonderful place to vacation in any season and for a little more than the cost of a hotel room, you can stay in a 2,500sq. ft. house on a large 100 foot corner wooded lot and experience all the area has to offer with all the comforts of home.

This retreat was perfect for us. My husband's family lives in town and this gave us the space to welcome everyone and visit in a homey setting. We found the kitchen and equipment did the job just fine then had plenty of space to visit. I hope on our next trip will also be able to stay in this house.
3 of us stayed in the spacious home. It was big enough for us to stretch out and NOT get in each others way. I do not like leaving a bad review, but I do want others to know what we experienced. The humidity in the home was unbearable, I had a hard time sleeping :( A dehumidifier would have been nice. The air could not keep up with the heat nor the humidity. Also, if you are allergic or sensitive to mold or mildew this is not the home for you. It's an older home and has some neat features, but I was sick the entire trip and my mom visited the basement and she said she saw mold down there. I KNOW the older part of the home upstairs had mildew smell to it and made me more ill to be in those 2 bedrooms. I slept in the newer added on bedroom and was much better. Also, the water pressure varied from day to day, some days it was strong, the next it was so weak it was hard to wash dishes. The space is awesome, if the owner would just address a few simple issues. You should be able to get rid of the mold/mildew issue fairly easy with a trained professional!
We had our mom's 90th birthday celebration in Maple Lake where she lives, however, our family was able to stay in the wonderful and comfortable house for three days of visiting and going back and forth with our mom. Our little granddaughters were with us and they loved going to the park and down to the lake which was only about 1/2 block. We loved sitting on the porch, especially during the the short but sweet thunderstorm! Being from CA, we haven't seen rain in a long time. We walked into town one morning, everything is close by. I had visited Annandale a few times while visiting my mother, it's a nice little place. We had everything we needed, lots of room and the owner and property manager were so nice to work with. Since Mom has moved into a small apt, we will come back to stay at this house when we visit again.
We were in the area for a wedding and this house was the perfect place for us. We did not spend much time at the house, but loved that we could have breakfast together before the business of the day started. We would defiantly stay here again! It was much better than a hotel where we would not have been able to visit as comfortably.
Family members came together to move our Mom from Annandale to St. Joe and this was just the perfect house for our stay. Plenty of room for everyone and so much better than two small rooms at the one hotel in town. The house is big and very comfortable. It was a great place to be with our long days of sorting, packing and moving. We started our mornings together over breakfast and ended our long days with either dinner or snacks before heading to our own bedrooms. Minnesota was it's typical cold temps (we moved in 5 below), but we were toasty in the house. The master bedroom is very large and nicely furnished. The kitchen and bathrooms have everything you need. The owner was thoughtful and the caretaker very nice. We will stay there again in the future and highly recommend it to others.
We stayed here 12 days. Very spacious and very reasonable. Dishwasher was broken before our arrival. We were not aware of this until our arrival. I understand it was replaced after our departure. Was counting on having a dishwasher since we did a lot of entertaining while there. Refrigerator was not keeping items cold upon arrival. Had to store milk in the freezer until repairman came out 2 days later. Unit needs a larger refrigerator and a new stove. Air conditioner in living room started smoking so we were unable to use it. Was given a $50 refund for our inconveniences which was appreciated. Was hard to sleep through the night with the windows open as the trains were blowing their whistles over and over again. Used portable air conditioner to drown out the noise.
