We are sure to return to what felt like our home away from home!! Full kitchen to cook in and lovely breakfast things and snacks! High quality sheets and towels, very clean overall and comfortable beds made it the perfect relaxing get away!! We enjoyed the porch overlooking the river -- so tranquil!! Can't wait to go back!!!
The Isle of Que Guest House is full of charm in a scenic location that is peaceful and lovely. It is furnished with period furniture and lots of homey touches such as collections of books about the Selinsgrove area and its history. Christi very generously loaded up the refrigerator with a variety of breakfast items and bottled water. The weekend weather was picture perfect so we were able to take advantage of the fantastic wrap-around porch to eat our meals and gaze at the beautiful Susquehanna River. Christi also provides kayaks to go exploring the Susquehanna which was a delightful way to experience the river's unique scenery and wildlife. The backyard boasts a beautiful pool and hot tub for more relaxation. The Isle of Que is a great place to explore and lends itself to walks and bike rides. Christi is a gracious and helpful hostess who helped us find a local restaurant for a great dinner. This is a perfect place to stay if you are looking to get away from hustle and bustle and get in touch with the tranquility of Snyder County at its best!!!! We loved every minute.
The owners, Christy and Shane, are wonderful people. They made our short get away for my husband, 2 teenage sons and I, a great time for all of us and our different activities. The pool was my one son's haven; clean, beautifully kept area that made it extremely enjoyable for him. Our other son enjoyed the kayak and fishing poles that Shane found for him - THANK YOU!
I will say that the pictures that are listed do NOT do this property justice. The property and its views are much nicer.
I would recommend this property to others without hesitation!
We had a great stay here. Perfectly relaxing weekend. My son enjoyed the pool. And the home owners were very sweet. The home is very clean and cozy. Def would go back .
Christi was lovely !!!!!!! My family and I plan on returning annually. The little extras she adds in such ass trains for my toddler , life vest, big bee were all great. My kids can't stop talking about the fun they had. The only improvement I can think of is some type of bug repellent there were so many spiders that got in the house but that's what you deal with when your close to the lake. Love the house and the town was so cute with great food.
Christi was the best host. She made a birthday cake for my God son who turned 6 years old during our visit. The location is perfect for a downtime rest. With an in-ground swimming pool there was time for a dip in the pool multiple times a day during the week. The pictures of the river from our front porch were incredible. Taking a bike ride on the 2 bike provided was a stress free flat ride down a road that ran parallel with the river and gave us a chance to burn a few calories. The river was calm and shallow in most parts that allowed you to see the bottom if you chose to use one of the 4 Kayaks available at the house.
If you need a week of rest, relaxation and some (or none) exercise this is the place for you.
We took an hour ride to Penn's Cave and took the boat ride down into an underground cavern. The gift shop is the best with fair prices for most of the items.
The house is located in Selinsgrove, PA, the home of Susquehanna University located twenty minutes from Bucknell University which is in Lewisburg, PA.
