|Minimum Stay||5 - 7 nights|
Stay in luxury in the heart of the jungle at Villa Mariana. Tucked into four lush acres near Quepos, the contemporary property puts you in the middle of the landscape with dramatic glass and steel sliding windows and walls, a spacious deck and thoughtful water features. With four bedrooms in the main house and one bedroom in a separate guest house, the villa is your own ultra-private corner of Costa Rica.
Follow either the glass doors or a waterfall feature from the house to the outdoor deck with infinity pool, lounge area and dining table. A wall of windows above a kitchen counter slides open to serve as an indoor-outdoor bar, and two indoor gardens bring the tropical flora right into the villa. In the evenings, enjoy cable TV, Wi-Fi access, ceiling fans and air-conditioned bedrooms.
Thanks to a living room with two-story glass walls, the vibrant hues and textures of the jungle become part of the villas decor. Clean-lined, neutral-toned furnishings, like a white sectional, wicker chairs and a glass-topped coffee table, are comfortable yet minimalist. A streamlined dining set sits adjacent to the spacious, fully equipped kitchen, where a large island with stools acts as both prep space and a breakfast bar.
Each of the five bedrooms at Villa Mariana has an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and ceiling fan. In the main house, the master bedroom has a king bed and jetted tub. There are two additional bedrooms with king beds and one bedroom with two queen beds. The charming guest house has its own porch and eat-in kitchen, as well as a bedroom with a queen bed.
Despite the villas private atmosphere, its not far from sights and amenities. Its a 1-minute drive to the nearest restaurant and a 5-minute drive to the town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio Beach. A 15-minute drive brings you to a hospital and the Quepos airport, while the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose is a 150-minute drive away. If its not a vacation without golf, fit in a round at the course thats 60 minutes away.

It was good. We enjoyed the house. The staff was friendly and provided great service and the house was clean.
Our stay at Villa Mariana was unbelievable! It was our first time visiting Costa Rica and we can't think of a better way to experience it than with our stay at Villa Mariana. The home was exquisite. The setting was breathtaking. The service unparalleled. The icing on the cake was having our own, personal Chef for the stay. Chef Over took incredible care of us and we recommend this service to anyone. The experience using Luxury Retreats was fantastic - they helped us obtain the worry-free, hassle-free vacation we were looking for. We are already starting to plan our luxury vacation!
House was architecturally excellent but a little run down and lacking in maintenance dollars. For example, the master bath/Jacuzzi has been repainted rather than replaced and the jets are frozen due to the painting. Some furniture was replaced from what was photographed and not in great condition.
There were too many staff members in the villa and constant interruptions and lack of privacy. For four days it was just 2 people in the villa and we had to insist that nobody come to the house (Manager, concierge, 2 house keepers, maintenance guy, night security guard, pool service, security alarm company rep....felt like a zoo and we were the exhibits).
Individually everyone was very nice but for me renting a house is about privacy. And to have 24/7 intrusions were annoying and when we asked for privacy we received a threat that "we would be responsible for damages" which reconfirmed that the constant staff presence was for our monitoring more than house maintenance or service.
From the moment we arrived everyone in the group was instantly relaxed and able to unwind. The pictures online do not do justice to how amazing it is to look out of every wall of the house and see the rain forest right outside. We had monkeys, sloths, macaws, lizards, and a variety of other critters right next to our back deck. The staff including Sabrina, Juan, and Flor were amazing throughout our entire stay, making sure our transportation to and from the airport, to and from the beach and national park, and to and from our excursions all ran seamlessly. Had we known the house was going to be cleaned everyday and the laundry was going to also be done daily we would have packed a lot less! :) We can't say enough about how amazing our trip was, and this house for sure is one of a kind.
We stayed 5 nights here with 9 people total, including 3 kids. The house is beautiful, and none of us wanted to leave. It's so cool to sit out by the pool in the morning and watch the monkeys play. Our stay here was perfect, and everyday was filled with such fun excursions thanks to Sabrina and Geralyn and Gloria. Our favorite was Vacation Buggy, and I highly recommend it. Dopper and Luis were fun and super knowledgeable. We did several guided tours, and I highly recommend doing the tours with the guides. I don't think I would have seen anything without someone pointing it out. We had a man named Juan as a guide in both Manuel Antonio national park and the mangrove tour, and he is fantastic. Eagle eyes, funny, great with kids. Ask Sabrina for his info! I was a little worried that there would be a mosquito issue with all of the windows, but we did not have a problem at all. It was also really nice to come home every day to a clean house and clean laundry.
