About Darcee Mond
Eben and I both grew up in Iowa and now spend our summers with family in the Midwest. Winters bring us to Silver Plume for our love of the mountains and skiing. Eben is a professional skier, and I am a yoga instructor, and together we coach the Loveland All-Mountain Freeride Team. We have two amazing sons and a third babe due to arrive Fall of 2018!
Darcee Mond purchased this Cottage in 2009
Why Darcee Mond chose Silver Plume
About eight years ago we decided to follow our hearts and move to the mountains that we love so much. Silver Plume, with it's laid back charm and easy access to all, is a wonderful home base. When the run-down cabin next door to our house came up for sale our parent's helped us restore it into a vacation home and rental. Gail and Joe - Eben's parents - are home builders, antique-rs and interior decorating masters. Together we gutted, insulated, roofed, straightened, cleaned, added, floored, painted and decorated the cabin and now we want to share it with others who love the mountains too!
What makes this Cottage unique
The mountains have so much to offer. The beauty, wildlife, wildness, skiing, back country touring, hiking, snowshoeing and biking are a few of our favorites. We've had the pleasure of seeing many Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Goats, a few brown bear, a couple moose and even one Lynx in our back yard, plus the area is known for the hummingbird migration. The hiking is fantastic, as are the views, and the cottage abuts National Forest. Georgetown is less than a five minute drive, Summit County is just twenty minutes, and Denver is only an hour away, each offering great restaurants and shopping. World class skiing is a ten minute drive and you will receive a free pass to Loveland Ski Area to use during your stay at Sunrise Peak Guest Cottage.

Perfect base camp
Cute house. Silver Plume was a good central location for our planned adventures. House was better than the pictures. Clean, plenty of space. Loved the patio.
Clean and cozy
This cottage was well kept and very pleasing to stay in.
The bestest vacation EVER!
Never been to a more beautiful place. Great scenery, fantastic mountain home with perfect decor....oh....and I GOT ENGAGED HERE!!! Would recommend a million times....perfect mountain home spot!! ❤️❤️❤️
Perfect accommodation. Beautiful decorated. Could be a small museum. Lots of nice and interesting old things for decoration.
Very easy access to Loveland.
Friendly people around town.
Can't be Beat
My daughter and I loved our stay at the cabin. We used it as a base for skiing at Loveland (15 minutes away). We also did a neat, quick hike up the trail behind the house. Kitchen was nicely equipped for breakfasts and the one dinner we made in house; our other dinners were down in Georgetown (just 5 minutes away)(Lucha and Alpine Restaurant). The cabin would be perfectly comfortable for four folks; although the rooms are not large, there is good separation and privacy. There is also a nice patio out back that gets great morning and afternoon sun The owners have done a nice job furnishing the cabin; very miner cabinish. About Silver Plume, well, you won't mistake it for Vail. If you are driving up from Denver, you will want to stop in Georgetown first (Kneisel and Anderson for groceries worked for us (great strip steak cut to order!)).
Would love to return in either summer or winter.
Family ski trip
Super cute place! Tiny and clean. The decor is busy with lots of furniture — makes it easy to accidentally leave something behind. Beds were comfortable and the space worked for 6 people. We would stay again!
Ice climbing, mine tours, historic Georgetown Loop Railroad, hot springs, frisbee golf, 4x4 trails.
