About Property Manager/Owner
I am a retired librarian of 27+ years, married with 7 grandchildren. Coles Pond is where I go to relax, read, cook, swim, canoe and hike. I used to go blueberry-ing on Coles Pond Rd. since age 8! My sister has lived in this area over 55 years, so we sometimes do day trips together, have sweet summer picnics enjoying the vegetables from her garden, enjoying day-lily garden tours nearby, lunch on the water of a nearby lake, go to a Farmers Market and shopping or a museum in St. Johnsbury. Morning or evening canoe paddles are best when the water is calm and like glass. Enjoying the loons and duck families swimming by is precious.
Property Manager/Owner purchased this Cabin in 2002
Why Property Manager/Owner chose Walden
The clean air and calm, clear waters with nothing but the wind softly whistling in the spruces is my idea of heaven on earth -- and it's mine! When it's not calm, hunker down with a blanket, look up into the sky to see the northern constellations on a clear night. Getting back to nature, especially in the northeast kingdom of Vermont, is my favorite place to be, and has been since childhood every summer!
What makes this Cabin unique
A sweet, quiet place for rest and relaxation, yet plenty to do all around you.

Clean, neat, cozy stay!
It's always a wonderful, peaceful stay at Coles Pond! Wish we could visit there more often!
It is a very nice cozy and we'll maintained place. Which can easily accomodate up to 4 ppl.
The property is located in a beautiful place. Sunsets are breathtaking. It is a small issue with the shopping - the nearest one ( with more or less significant variety and quality) is about 30 min away. Other then this the place is beautiful.
Atop a 2200 ft. elevation mountain, Coles Pond is the highest-elevation, *developed* body of water in the State of Vermont. Pristene waters, tested annually for invasive plants, loons and ducks return every year, great birdwatching, and you may even see a moose wading along the shorelines across the way! Back to nature, but near enough to essential establishments, such as Willey's Store, Greensboro, a *real* country store, which even has hardware, housewares and clothing sections, besides groceries with local produce, meats and dairy as well. Great local restaurants in Hardwick, such as Claire's, Positive Pie, House of Pizza, and the Villiage Restaurant. Miniature golf in Hardwick, and 9-hole Mountain View golf course in Greensboro. Farmers markets in all surrounding towns, such as Hardwick, Greensboro, and Danville. Day trips include Stowe area and the Von Trapp Family Lodge, Smuggler's Notch, Mt. Mansfield (all offering rugged Appalacian trail hiking), Jay Peak resort, Newport, Waterbury (original home of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream factory) and the Barre-Montpelier area. Hidden old mill and waterfall hike called Cheever Falls about 4 miles away, on the other side of Steam Mill Brook Wildlife Area, which encompasses Coles Pond. Nearby Wheeler Mountain, off of Rte. 16 North towards Barton is about a 2-3 hour hike to the summit, with awesome views of Lake Mephromagog and surrounding north Green Mountains.
