About Adam

Our Cabin Is the perfect get-away in the mountains. We love the rustic feel of a log cabin but also appreciate the clean/new feel to our home. We enjoy ... Downhill and XC Skiing, trail running, hiking, and mountain biking, golfing and assuring a good-night’s sleep.

Adam purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Adam chose West Virginia

We have been vacationing at Blackwater Falls Park for many years now. When the opportunity came to purchase in Canaan we knew it was the perfect location and provided the pristine accommodations that we were looking for.

What makes this cabin unique

We've recently upgraded the hot tub and added a grill to the large deck. there is a King Bed in the master bedroom and a Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen. We share your demand of high standards in the accommodations you choose. Cleanliness is essential for us. We demand that your stay is uncompromisingly positive and memorable.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had difficulty over the winter months with the outdoor hot tub however it is working better than ever now and will be available on your next visit!

Lovely peaceful woodsy cabin

  • 5 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the week. The cabin was perfect; beautifully decorated, great location, and so comfy. Wireless access and Dish TV were great on our rainy day (as was the hot tub); nice selection of board games too. We appreciated the grill and fireplace too! Everything was nice and clean and the beds were so comfy; my children loved theirs 💖

Very nice weekend.

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was very nice. I especially liked getting in the hot tub when it was 15 degrees outside. Everything needed was there. Only things I'd recommend would be making sure there is wood stored on the porch. Once we burned the little bit that was inside the rest was buried under snow. Also need to make use of the duster to get some of the cobwebs.

Owner's Response: I do include firewood for people who stay at my cabin as I did wth you and that will continue to be the case. Unfortunately, I cannot always guarantee it will be placed on the porch. One might need to walk 5 feet around to the side of the house, along the plowed driveway to restock. It's really not that bad. As far as a few cobwebs, good eye. I only reach up into the highest part of ceiling occasionally. They will be swept immediately. Thanks for the feedback.

Very nice cabin and quiet area! A road is close by but you don't even notice it. There are several other cabins tucked into the woods there, as well. The cabin is equipped with everything you would need! We will be coming back!

Really excellent place and location

  • 5 of 5

Great place - location is excellent, in a sweet little forested grove with other log cabins that feels like Little House in the Big Woods, but right next to the main highway. About 10-12 mins to both downhill resorts and whitegrass. And about equidistant from Blackwater falls and downtown Davis. Immaculately clean with loads of extra - there isn't just a roll or two of toilet paper but a whole bulk package of it and paper towels, and tons of basics that you don't have to bring, like sugar, flour, oil, spices, etc. Kcup machine too. Huge number of towels so you're set for both shower and hot tub. One consideration - the kids' bunks are on the loft, so may be difficult to hang out and chat or watch a movie in the main room once they go to sleep. There's a tv in the master but not the upstairs room. Also bring earplugs if you're noise sensitive - woke up to loud rain on the tin roof (quite lovely actually) and you can clearly hear people talking in other rooms. We were sad at no snow but even without it the view from the back deck and all the windows is lovely. If you're coming in winter and find no snow so no xcountry and snowshoeing, you can instead visit the falls adorned with icicles and do short hikes and ice skate etc. wonderful vacation spot for families.
