About Adam

Our Cabin Is the perfect get-away in the mountains. We love the rustic feel of a log cabin but also appreciate the clean/new feel to our home. We enjoy ... Downhill and XC Skiing, trail running, hiking, and mountain biking, golfing and assuring a good-night’s sleep.

Adam purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Adam chose West Virginia

We have been vacationing at Blackwater Falls Park for many years now. When the opportunity came to purchase in Canaan we knew it was the perfect location and provided the pristine accommodations that we were looking for.

What makes this cabin unique

We've recently upgraded the hot tub and added a grill to the large deck. there is a King Bed in the master bedroom and a Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen. We share your demand of high standards in the accommodations you choose. Cleanliness is essential for us. We demand that your stay is uncompromisingly positive and memorable.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had difficulty over the winter months with the outdoor hot tub however it is working better than ever now and will be available on your next visit!

You won't find a better kept cabin than this one!

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was extremely clean, well kept, and comfortable. Property owner responded immediately to all my questions prior to to stay and refunded my security deposit the same day we checked out. Cabin was within a short drive to Dolly Sods and Blackwater Falls. Cabin was closer to other cabins and Route 32 than I had expected, but still quite peaceful. We loved starting our day with coffee on the front porch swing and ending with the hot tub on the back porch after long hikes! I would stay here again if we visit Canaan Valley again.

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly sized cabin for a family get away, tucked away in the woods, just off the main road. Convenient to all the main attractions in the Canaan Valley. The owners have gone the extra step to make this a special getaway - really soft sheets, lots of books and information about things to do in the area, board games and a hot tub. Highly recommend!

Love this cabin

  • 4 of 5

We were looking for a place where my sons (19 and 22) and I could show my sister and brother-in-law from Seattle some of the best nature that the mid-Atlantic has to offer while allowing easy access to grocery shopping, dining out and seeing live music. This cabin completely fit the bill. It is clean and comfortable and has all of the amenities one could ask for, including a good wireless connection, TV (normally not a big priority, but we visited during the Olympics, so we were grateful for a good TV), a well-stocked kitchen, washer-dryer, good showers and comfortable beds. On Friday and Sunday, we had very little time for driving, so we enjoyed hikes at Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls state parks, both within 15-20 minutes distance. On Saturday, we drove about 50 minutes to get a trailhead in the northern part of Dolly Sods wilderness area and greatly enjoyed that unique landscape on a daylong hike. On Saturday, we enjoyed dinner and great live music at the Purple Fiddle in nearby Thomas.

Our only small (very small) criticisms: the deck could use a picnic table and the cabin was a bit closer to Route 32 than we had realized (maybe a couple of hundred yards), so we had to adjust to some road noise. But overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this place to anyone with the hope of enjoying great natural and small town amenities.

Nice quiet stay

  • 4 of 5

If quiet is what you want, this is the place. Good location, right off HWY 32, but in a pine thicket, so highway noise not too bad. And highway is not busy...

Very comfortable, and two full bathrooms is nice.

Washer and dryer made things nice and helped us not to have to pack as much.

Davis, WV is close by with a small grocery store well stocked with supplies. Nice restaurants too.

No big problems during our stay (6 nights), owner answered all questions via e-mail really quick.

Got our damage deposit back the day we left.

A couple of small issues:

It rained most of the time we were there, so the back deck (uncovered) was wet a lot and VERY slippery. I think a good pressure washing might help.

Main floor bathroom had a musty smell the whole time we were there. Keep the window open, but didn't seem to help.

We really enjoyed our stay and if ever in this area again, will probably rent again.

Owner's Response: Checked out the smell in the bathroom (which was a shock to have read that here) and discovered a small leak in the pipe behind the wall. It is now fixed and will not be an issue. Thanks for letting me know!

The cabin was clean, comfortable, & close to many things that we wanted to do during our stay.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the cabin very much. It was nicely decorated & was equipped with all the essentials, minus a few minor things. The hot tub was great after miles and miles of hiking everyday. The mountain scenery is absolutely beautiful. We were a little disappointed in the local restaurant choices. We ended up traveling to Elkins the 2 times that we did eat a meal that we didn't cook ourselves - we were very pleased with Smoke on the Water & El Gran Sabor. We were also somewhat disappointed that we were unable to relax around a bonfire at night. But overall, we had a great time here.

Absolutely perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This was such a beautiful cozy cabin. It was nearby all the sights. We didn't see any bears (but that's ok, I didn't mind). Due to storms, the hot tub wasn't working but Adam had someone out to fix it as soon as the rain allowed. Adam, the owner was awesome to work with. Any problems he was immediately working to fix them. Our deposit was returned right away after we got home.
