Enjoy a beautiful house of spectacular sea views, surrounded by nature, with an open plan, loft and decks. Located between the beaches of Bathsheba and Martin's Bay in a non residential/touristy area in St. John. This rural parish has more of a local village flavour. We have a beautiful loft with a queen sized bed, bathroom and deck at the level of the tree tops and a downstairs bedroom on the level with more decks, bathroom and kitchen. Beautiful design, gorgeous wood and spectacular ocean views. Wi-fi, Washing machine, dryer, fully equipped kitchen, TV (no channels, I use for watching things off the computer) are all available.
Occasionally, there may be a smell from the animal farm above. This is rare, but it may occur. Also, when the pigs at the farm are fed, they make quite a racket when they are so about 5 minutes,
Finally, the apartment below is rented short term also, so there may or may not be gusts there at the time of you visit. It's self contained with completely separate entrances, so no need for communication between the two spaces if this is not desired.
Hi, I'm a well traveled Barbadian, who loves her island. For me, the best part of Barbados is the east rural character, people, wildness and spectacular views. I love reading, so many good books are available for use at the house, I'm an avid diver and love the arts. So let me know if you want to dive, join a book club or hook up with some visual, dance or theater. I travel extensively, but always come back home, so I cannot accommodate long term rentals. I always have friends on hand when I'm not there to welcome you and provide all the info you need. I'm always in contact via email also.
Talking Trees is special. It's for those who do not want a touristy space and are comfortable among nature. The house is beautiful and set among trees. It is the opposite of a glitzy neighborhood, set in a more rural, village type area. The views of the ocean are awesome, and you can see them from one of two decks, and almost anywhere in the house including the upstairs bathroom.
The views. The beauty of the house. The open space. The monkeys.
Please be aware if you are susceptible to sounds or smells (however occasional) this might be problem for you.
.A lovely house maybe in need of TLC. It is quite a distance from resources so a car is recommended..As the driveway is steep and uneven also local roads pretty bad a jeep is a must.
I would go again, don't forget to pack insect repellant.
Angelique very helpful.
We had an incredible stay at Talking Trees. The house is really a unique experience surrounded by nature with phenomenal views of the ocean. The house was very clean and fully equipped with everything you need. Angela has beautiful art displayed throughout her entire home. We enjoyed watching the money's in their natural habitat. The sunsets are incredible. Angela and Sonia were wonderful hosts and so very helpful. I can't wait to return. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. We truly appreciate you!
This is truly a perfect and stunning property if you’re planning on staying near Bathsheba. There are amazing hill top views, open interior and exterior spaces for relaxing and lounging and the homeowner is above and beyond accommodating! Can't wait to visit again!
We had never been to Barbados but always love to immerse ourselves in the culture when we visit so we split our time up between the "Tree House" on the east coast and a popular condo on the west coast for a much higher price to get the full sense of the island. We found there was no reason to do that as the island is not that big and we enjoyed the Tree House SO MUCH MORE! It was relaxing, calming and beautiful. None of the touristy hustle and bustle like St Lawrence Beach. It was a perfect place to disconnect! There were monkeys on the porch every morning and the overall feeling of relaxation was remarkable. We picked up groceries and made some meals and then for others we ventured to some local eateries. You will need a car but Angie helped make that easy and very reasonable as well. It was amazing and gave us that true feeling of Barbadian life. If the "americanized" Barbados is what you're looking for then pay all that extra money and stay in St Lawrence BUT we experienced Barbados at the Tree House and would recommend it to anyone!
The area is rural character. There are loads of trees, monkeys and close proximity to rugged beaches. Located above the village of Foster Hall, and below a farm, from which there are occasional smells and noise. Close to Bathsheba beach and to amazing food in Martin's Bay and Tent Bay. A place to just get away and relax.
There is an apartment below the house which is rented on a long term basis, to a local guy. Exits and entrances are polar opposites and you will only come into contact (apart from an occasional hi or bye) if you wish it.
