I will also copy a previous guest.....'It is a pleasure to highly recommend this apartment'.
My husband and I wanted a flat in the Old Canal District; and what a perfect location!!
Take a short walk along a canal and you're at Rembrandtplein, or Leidesplein.
Charlotte baked us fresh bread and it would have been warm had we not arrived later than she expected us.
The apartment is beautiful, and fully stocked.
I will copy the introduction of the previous guest: "It is a pleasure to highly recommend this apartment". Charlotte thank you for hosting me in a such short notice to your lovely and perfectly decorated apartment (black 'n' white 'n' red are my colours also - remember? : ) ). The apartment was just what I needed in order to enjoy the city, to relax after a long (Greek) year and to feel comfortable within a space made in highly good taste. Amazing sleeping area with a large bed looking at the garden. Charlotte has done a great job with maps and recommedations about the city's most interesting spots and sights. A total recommendation for singles and couples either for the first time in Amsterdam or for comebackers like my self. Enjoy!
It is a pleasure to highly recommend this apartment. Actually we did not stay in this particular apartment but rather the owners apartment in the same building one floor up. We expressed an interest in the place posted and when that was already booked, Charlotte the owner, offered her place which proved to be just perfect. Charlotte greeted us with a freshly baked loaf of bread, a bottle of wine, and a thorough briefing of all her apartment had to offer as well markets, restaraunts, museums, etc. that she recommended. The place was spotless and contained every imaginable need. It's location was also a plus, within minutes to all the major museums, daily and weekly markets, nightly entertainment and a host of great restaraunts in every price range. We met the people renting the Studio King & Queen apartment below us and they two enjoyed the apartments location and how secure and quiet it was. The only obstacle would be the winding staircase(s) for those with health issues. For those of us that lead active lives, they proved to be a good workout and warm up for a day of adventure in this fabulous city. Thank you Charolotte for your hospitality.
We absolutely loved our Amsterdam apartment where we recently spent a full week. Although Charlotte lists this as a studio, it's really more like a one-bedroom apartment. The sleeping area is small, but a definite sleeping space. The kitchen was great, and even had a diswasher. Clothe washer/dryer was in the adequate bathroom. We loved the Nespresso coffee maker so much, we bought one the day we returned home. The furnishings were simple but efficient and comfortable, and we had plenty of room. The computer was very nice to have available. The homemade bread Charlotte baked for us was delightful. We walked the entire canal area with ease. This was simply the best place we could have chosen to stay. The only negatives we can report are related to the narrow spiral staircase into the apartment, which could be problematic for those with disabilities. Security is incredible, with three locks (and keys) into and out of building. We would definitely like to return to Amsterdam and this apartment.
My wife and I stayed in the King and Queen studio recently and absolutely loved everything about our stay. Charlotte, the owner, was more than accommodating and helpful in every way. We were welcomed to freshly baked bread (still warm!!) and the whole apartment is very well equipped with everything you can possibly need. The Nespresso coffee maker was great, we had a cup every morning!! Also Charlotte provided us a map with recommended restaurants, museums, places to do etc. all mapped out and numbered as to make it very easy to find. The book that Charlotte made that corresponded with the map had an explanation for each place and Charlotte made sure to point out her personal favorites. She also had a great selection of music, which we would listen to while getting ready for the day!! Overall, we loved our stay and did not want to leave. The apartment is perfect for two people, clean, in a great location and decorated in very good taste. I would definitely love to return and stay here again and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Amsterdam that wants to feel like a local during their stay. Charlotte even went out of her way to call us a cab when we were leaving that saved us a lot of money in comparison to if we had called ourselves. Thank you Charlotte for everything, hope to see you again!!
P.S. Rent bikes, its a great and affordable way to get around Amsterdam!
Studio KingandQueen is clean, cosy and so well equipped. Charlotte, the owner, lives upstairs and is very helpful. On arrival, there was freshly baked bread and all sorts of supplies to get us started. Any utensil you think you may need is there. We never had to go find anything. The location is fantastic...within walking distance of the centre and biking makes the whole city accessible. We were very pleased to have found this apartment and would not hesitate to recommend it. It suited us very well. Charlotte ordered us the taxi to take us to the airport. In total, it was a stress free experience. Thanks Charlotte!
Cons: Stairs is a bit steep but that's the case in most of the residences in Amsterdam. And, if two people sharing the bed, one has to climb over the other due to it's location. Makes for a little extra exercise!
