2BR/2BA Parrot's Haven is a wonderful cottage tucked away on a half-acre private gated estate adjoining the Cayman Kai canal to the south...and across the street from the (open to the public) Cayman Kai Oceanfront Beach to the north! As all beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public; 9 days out of 10 you will be the only people on this beach! Freshwater pool, large screened porch, boat dock and ramp, WifI, TVs, King and Queen bedrooms. Central A/C, Hammocks and charcoal grill. Just a great tranquil spot in Cayman Kai and only a short walk to the Rum Point Club and Restaurant.
The idyllic backyard of Parrot's Haven greets its guest daily with the sounds of the Caribbean. Pairs of Cayman Green Parrots are a common sight while swimming in the private freshwater pool or relaxing at cocktail hour in the screened porch. Our guests can fish from the dock; meander down the canal in a rented kayak to the Kaibo Yacht Club for lunch/dinner or even just walk to the Rum Point Club for lunch/dinner, drinks or watersports.
Having the sandy Cayman Kai beach directly across the street with a cabana for shade and picnic table is all many of us can ask for. AMAZING snorkeling there. Just a convenient location and a great value for a smaller home. The backyard is an oasis of palm trees, oleander, fragrant frangiapani and wonderful ferns and bougainvillea. Bright orange exterior paint with crisp white trim and Bahama shutters.
(1) King Bed suite, (1) Queen bed with adjacent bathroom. We do have an extra twin mattress for a fifth person in a pinch.
The private dock and boat ramp permit guests to rent a boat and/or jet skis and not worry about mooring. OWNER INCLUDES 2 KAYAKS. Owner does not rent to local residents.
3 TVs, LIME TV Service, Central A/C; WiFi, (3) Hammocks, private pool/deck, cabana on the dock and this home is diagonally across the street from the ocean for swimming and snorkeling.

We stayed at this house on our second trip to Cayman. The Rum Point area is really great and a great place to go and relax. It was paradise, and this house was a wonderful place to stay.
The house was very clean. There is everything you would need to stay for a week or longer including a washer and dryer. The kitchen is well stocked with kitchen tools and utensils everything you need. There is also a grill outside. We cooked most of our meals during the week. The yard was well maintained and pretty.
We spent a lot of time in the pool which is really nice. We also spent a lot of time at Rum Point Beach which is a short walk from the house. The restaurants at Rum Point are good options and they have great mudslides. My favorite restaurant that we tried was the Kaibo. They had a great band play one night that we were there.
I will be back and have recommended this house to my family.
Parrot's Haven is a well appointed private home that was everything we were looking for. The house is in the Rum Point section a short walk or drive away from Rum Point Beach/Wreck It Bar/Rum Point Restaurant. It takes about 40 minutes to drive to this home from the airport. A car is a necessity.
Knowing that we were in a quiet section of Grand Cayman, we were pleased with the features of the kitchen. On the way from the airport, you should stop at a grocery store along the way. We stopped at Foster’s grocery store in Savannah after our arrival. Chisholm grocery store on the North side is also on the way, but carries a fraction of what the major grocery stores have.
The house itself is very clean and comfortable and has all the amenities necessary for a beach vacation. There are two bedrooms with a spacious master suite. The house is also equipped with a pullout bed in the main living room which was we used.
The outdoor space is fantastic. We rented kayaks and paddle boards that we used in the canal behind the home. The pool is also a great feature and we spent many hours in and around it. We felt like we were in our own private villa.
We took a stingray city trip from Kaibo Beach early in the morning, which we highly recommend. We also ventured to the eastern side of the island for a second snorkel trip. We also spent a day on Seven Mile Beach, which was fun, but were happy to get back to our private villa.
The house is across the street from Cayman Kai public beach. Unfortunately, there is some debris and trash on the beaches that really took away from the aesthetics of an otherwise gorgeous environment. There is also rocky coral which makes it difficult to get in the water, so water shoes are a must. Once in the water, however, the snorkeling is very good and very private. Rum Point beach is also nearby, which is a well manicured white sandy beach.
Overall, we had a very great vacation at Parrot’s Haven, and it was perfect for a quiet family getaway!
We were looking for a rental with a pool, near the beach and Parrots Haven ticked all the boxes! We were surprised to find a villa with a good sized Garden and its own pool in our price range and I was initially a little suspicious as there was only one review, so here's mine!
The villa was away from the hustle and bustle of 7 mile beach, perhaps a 40 minute drive from the airport. You'd definitely need a car (unless you want a very quiet week!) as the buses don't run as far as rum point.
It was great being able to walk about 5 mins down the relatively quiet road to get to rum point and it's lovely beachfront and bar/cafe/restaurant. We also drove the five minutes to the Kaibo yacht club and enjoyed drinks and food on their beachfront bar/ restaurant. We also stumbled across their full moon beach party one night, where we had a lovely supper sitting on cushions right on the beach!
Kaibo marina was also the meeting place for our stingray city trip, a must do! We'd highly recommend taking an early morning trip to avoid the cruise ship crowds. We went on white sand watersports 7am trip and there was only one other boat there (with only two guests!).
We had envisaged using the beach over the road but were a bit disappointed to find that, while deserted, there was a lot of rubbish there, like many other quieter beaches on the island. The water also had a lot of rocky coral making it difficult to find a place to get in and swim! This wasn't really a problem, however, as you are spoiled for choice of lovely places to swim and sunbathe.
We were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the house was and how well equipped. It was in good condition and immaculately clean! We enjoyed the spacious master suite. Our girls had their own room with a double bed and their own bathroom. The only drawback was my younger daughter having to sleep on a mattress on the floor as the pull out bed was in a large cabinet near the front door (in the lounge). Two twin beds would have been more practical. However, the pros of having our own pool outweighed this inconvenience!
We spent the last two nights of our holiday in a beachfront hotel on seven mile beach. Although this was wonderful, we were pleased that we'd spent the majority of our trip on the quieter side of the island.
This was our first visit to Grand Cayman since 1988. So glad we pick this house to stay at. We took out 2 teenagers and there was plenty of room. House is beautiful with everything you could possibly want. The grounds were perfect, the pool was perfect and the home was one of nicest we stayed at in a long long time. We travel to Hawaii alot but have not seen a better set up for a vacation. We are going back again real soon. Owner was a delight to deal with, almost as if you had been friends for years. Love it, love it, love it.
This was my wife and I's 6th trip to Grand Cayman, and it was the best! This home was absolutely every thing that the listing says it is and more. Rum Point Beach has always been a favorite of ours, and you can walk to it from here. When the crowds started to show up, we went back to the house and the private pool, which was perfect. Over The Edge Restaurant is also a favorite of ours (Cayman Fried Bread!) and only minutes from here. We stretched out on this trip and really enjoyed Eagle Ray's and Tukka's on the East End. Starfish Point is a few miles away and worth the trip.
So back to this property..... I can not think of a single negative thing to say. We loved this home and will look it up next time we come here. We received several emails from the property management team ready to answer any questions we had. Ron, who met us at the property at check in, stopped by one night to make sure we had no issues or questions and Alex stopped by when we had to leave to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
The property is beautiful with lots of plants and trees. The private dock was wonderful for our morning coffee. AND a pair of Green Cayman Parrots! We only saw them once, but wow! They sang their hearts out for us.
So to recap....
Coffee on the private dock every morning.....
A nice walk at The Cays at Rum Point development....
Rum Point Beach every morning/afternoon....
Private Pool at the home....
Great dinner at local and or East End restaurants.....
Private Pool at the home......
Cocktails on the private, romantic back porch......
Huge King sized bed in the master bedroom every night.....
Also stuff available that we didn't even use......
lots of movies
lots of cd's
We cannot wait to return!
Parrot's Haven is across the street from the Cayman Kai Beach and offers wonderful snorkeling and fishing there. Cabana with picnic tables offer shade and lunch options. Very sandy beach here; but for swimming please wear swim fins or pool shoes for foot protection; as this beach is a marine environment with sharp shells; corals grasses and critters.
WALK to the Rum Point Club for barefoot swimming and watersports; as well as dining and drinks and giftshop
