This stunning lake house offers everything one can imagine!
Our family of 6 eagerly explored every room of the house as soon as we arrived. My husband and I loved the spacious, comfortable master bedroom and bath. Our toddler was delighted to find drawers full of toys and cars downstairs. Our little girl was instantly in love with a giant stuffed dog. Our two older boys were excited to try both the hot tub and the video game systems in the hockey room. We all checked out the sporting equipment in the shed outside and played a little football, badminton, soccer and other assorted activities. Since it was so mild this December, we also took a few bike rides.
The area is very quiet and felt quite safe. We had no problem letting the little kids play in the yard and the older ones explore down the road a little bit.
As other reviews mentioned, there is a lot of food and spices in the cabinets. We stocked up in Peterborough (45 minutes away) on perishables and the specific things we wanted. We had fun using the espresso machine too. The kitchen is spacious and there was plenty of room to prepare meals.
We were a bit anxious with our youngest son in a house with many decorative objects. We did put a few vases and things out of reach during our stay. The kids loved the construction paper and art materials they found in the house too. That kept them busy on many occasions.
There are big screen TVs in most rooms that have a great channel selection. We even watched two movies on the projector screen, which was fun.
All in all, we had a great stay. It will be a wonderful Christmas memory for the family. We made fires and went for family walks most days. It would be wonderful to visit in the summer and play around in the lake. I'd recommend a stay here for anyone looking for a "get away" trip, with or without a big family.
Had a wonderful time at this beautiful chalet. Interior design/furnishings are fabulous. Beds sooooo comfy. Loved the view of lake from the deck.
This is a beautiful, well maintained home. The location is beautiful. Quiet street. Amazing sunsets. The home owner makes sure you have everything you need. The whole family enjoyed fishing and smores by the lakeside firepit. The massage chair was so relaxing, as well as the hot tub. We really enjoyed all of the outdoor spaces. The closest town had everything we needed and travel to other towns was an easy drive.
Recommendations: There are a lot of cleaning products throughout the house. I would recommend putting them all in one place, somewhere unaccessible to children. The pantry was full upon our arrival and the homeowner told us to help ourselves, but this left no space for our own pantry items. We ended up using counter top space for our groceries. The decor is beautiful and makes it feel like a luxury home, but added a bit of stress with small children in the house. The aircondition was inconsistant. When the aircondition was on, the main living level was comfortable, but the lower level was like an icebox. We tried turning the fan off, but then the main level was too warm.
We had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend this house to friends and family. We hope to travel to Canada again in a couple of years and would definatly consider this home again.
Thank you for the great family memories!
