About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Welcome to our lakefront home on beautiful Center Hill Lake! It is truly unique in that it is one of the only homes on the lake with a full year-round lakeview, walk-to-the-water access, and a boat ramp. This allows a wide range of activities for all your guests. You can sit back and enjoy the spectacular lake and mountain view from any of the three covered decks, even watching your friends and family canoe or boat in the cove. You can take the 50 yard gentle sloping walk down our private path to the water's edge to swim or fish. You can play in the spacious backyard or grill on the main deck. It is also very convenient to bring your own boat as there is a boat ramp within yards of the house and plenty of space to park your boat. Bring your hiking shoes for numerous areas to hike outside the back door or at nearby Burgess Falls or Virgin Falls. We also provide a 3-person canoe to pull down to the lake to fish or explore.

The inside is beautifully appointed with a main level that includes a full kitchen, dining area, full bath, queen bedroom, living room with 48' flatscreen HDTV/DVD, and spacious deck with ceiling fans and seating for 15. The upstairs includes a large loft bedroom with an elegant king sleigh-bed, TV/DVD, full bath with tub/shower, and a covered veranda to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. The downstairs includes another queen bedroom, TV/DVD, full bath, a gameroom with a ping-pong table, games, and bunkbed, and a washer and dryer. The TV service is provided through DISH network. The view from all three levels is absolutely breath-taking.

We are located just 15 minutes off I-40, 15 minutes from 'restaurant row' in Cookeville, and 15 minutes from amazing Burgess Falls. From here it is also easy to reach Cumberland Caverns, Fall Creek Falls, or Rock Island State Park. We are located on Mine Lick Creek, known for its great wakeboarding conditions and 5 minutes by boat from Hurricane Bridge and marina.

There is no need to search further. Enjoy the protected beauty of Center Hill Lake from one of the very few places close enough to the water to throw in a rock from the balcony of the deck, but still take in the stunning views of the water and mountains. Fish...boat...relax...all right here.

About Tim Myers

We have enjoyed Center Hill Lake as a family from this little 'Valley by the Lake' for years and hope you love it too.

Tim Myers purchased this house in 2011

Why Tim Myers chose Tennessee

Easy access from the interstate, and the combination of the view and practicality of being able to get our boat in and out so easily.

What makes this house unique

Center Hill is beautiful because of the preserved shoreline, so it is really special to be this close to the water. People from other parts of the lake always say, 'Oh, we know exactly which place is yours because we can see it from the water, but never knew how to get to it.'

Lovely home, view, and access to lake

  • 4 of 5

We just returned from this property and had an incredible time. The decks are fabulous with a gorgeous view. The house is really great, lots of room, outdoor furniture, kitchen with everything, laundry, and views from all three floors. The town of Cookeville is a 1/2 hour drive away. I suggest checking in with enough food to get you through the first day, see what supplies you need, then head into town. We visited the Wal-Mart on the way in once, and then only one other time when we figured out the supplies we needed for 4 days.

We made much use of the canoe, however, getting it up and down the bank was a bit of a pill, I would suggest creating some kind of easier way to get it down there and back up. Not sure what that would be, but the bank is steep, and the canoe is heavier than it looks. Combined with slick grass, mud, rock, and roots, it wasn't easy. There is a boat ramp very close, but we didn't have any way to get it there, so we had to get it up and down the hill.

But, the payoff is worth it. Having unlimited use of the canoe is a fantastic amenity to this property. We stayed out several hours a day, exploring all the nooks and beaches this lake has to offer. We had the lake nearly to ourselves. We saw deer, a coyote, a bald eagle and blue heron. We loved being out at sunset, just gorgeous.

In regard to the review about it not being private, we found that once you got in the house, it seemed very private. Your view is completely out to the lake. I had to cover some windows with sheets (curtains would be appreciated!) but most of the windows are facing the lake, and there is noone out there to look in. The neighborhood was virtually empty at this time, we only heard one neighbor two doors down, twice when she was outside on the phone. Other than that, we only heard people at the boat ramp.

Being that the area had no rain for an extended period, I didn't get the vibrant fall colors I was looking for, but I would 100% return to this property.

Thank you!

Lacked the expected privacy.

Inside of house was nice but we elected not to stay once we arrived and saw the house completely lacked privacy from neighbors. Not the escape we were expecting.

Owner's Response: It is disappointing that you would write a review when you did not even stay at our home. I think you would have found it is located in a quiet lakeside neighborhood where most of the owners do not even live year-round. The other houses are located back behind our home, away from the lake. I would encourage future guests to consider the other 58 positive reviews.

Very nice, clean property with great view of lake

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I really enjoyed our two night stay. The house was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. I believe it is one of the few houses that actually has direct access to the lake. Granted you do need to wear shoes to go down the path as there is a fairly steep section to step off and the shore area is rocky. It was a chore to get the canoe up and down the path, but if you have a truck you can just put the canoe in at the beach area just a minute away. The lake was beautiful and very quiet. We practically had it all to ourselves for swimming and canoeing. The house is close to Burgess Falls, which was beautiful.

We will be back to Center Hill Lake.
