The houseboat was fantastic! I really enjoyed being in that area of town and was able to walk to my conference at the World Trade Center in 25 minutes! Fanuiel Hall Marketplace was where I went for yummy food and shopping EVERY night! Such fun! Thanks for rocking me to sleep every night!

Unique stay in a fabulous location

  • 4 of 5

Pros:

Location - so close to major spots, lots to see/do/eat within a 10 minute walk

Novelty - our kids (ages 5, 12, 13) loved staying on a houseboat, noticing the tides, the sea critters, the rocking of the boat, the space to roam (so much better than a hotel room)

Size and amenities - comfortable and lots of space for everyone; fridge came in handy, coffee pods perfect; enough plates, glasses, etc

A/C kept the heat and humidity at bay

Timely responses from our contacts when there was a problem

Cons:

Curtains on the windows are sufficient for privacy but don't do anything to keep early morning light out (would've been nice to sleep in)

Mattress in the main bedroom was two foams stacked on top of each other, which made for a very uncomfortable first night (so soft and squishy my husband ended up on the couch); for the price we were paying, we'd expected a good night's sleep; but when we complained the next day they did manage to get a different mattress for us that was an improvement (so this problem was quickly resolved and we had better rests)

Drinking water - we were told not to drink it by our First Mate but there was no other water provided; he also told us it was Boston city water so we drank it anyhow and everyone was fine (maybe it's his personal preference not to drink it but it was a bit unsettling!)

Price - the $139 cleaning fee and the extra $35/person each night will mean we will likely never stay again, unfortunately! but hopefully this experience will stay in our children's memories

Note: parking now up to $29/day in the lot close by

Overall I would recommend the experience to someone - and if money were no object, I would stay again!

Great way to enjoy the city

  • 5 of 5

We lived in Boston for several years and have family in the area, so we are very familiar with the city. This is absolutely the best way to enjoy the city. It was fun to arrive via the water taxi and nice to be able to get away from the noise and chaos of the city. We were close to everything and it was easy to get around from the dock. We felt very safe and comfortable throughout our stay. Daniel was very responsive whenever we had questions. The only issue we has was that the toilet was a bit stinky. Thank you to Daniel for solving the problem. Next time we visit Boston, we will be sure to again stay on one of the boats.

Great place to stay in Boston...convenient, clean and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

The houseboat was clean, very efficient and comfortable. The Taurus was in a fabulous location for visiting everything in the northern end of Boston, but it was also convenient to the T (subway) and we were able to get everywhere we wanted to go easily. Nearby restaurants served very tasty food! Everything you could need or want is within close proximity and the boat is a good value!

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The houseboat was perfect. A good size for 2-4 people. Well equipped, very clean and comfortable. I was concerned about safety when booking, but the wharf and dock, as well as the boat, are very secure. Captain Jimmy and First Mate Daniel were great at check in, making sure we knew how things worked and helping with luggage. Location is great. Easy to get around Boston from the wharf. Will definitely stay again. Thanks!
