Pelican Cottage: A Tropical Retreat

Bedrooms 2
Space 525 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Peaceful, quiet and private: 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, 4 Sleeps

Tucked neatly into the NE corner of our property, sun-drenched Pelican Cottage offers everything you'll need for a private, relaxing, quiet getaway within walking distance to the Sponge Docks, Spring Bayou & more in beautiful Tarpon Springs, Florida.

The 528 sq. ft. cottage offers an open living room/dining room/kitchen with flat screened television and basic cable. The kitchen is equipped with a 2-burner induction cook-top, a microwave, toaster oven, under-counter fridge (with access to a full sized fridge and freezer in the garage) and a combination drip pot and/or pod coffee pot. Also included are dishes, pots and pans, flatware, etc.

The one large bedroom includes a queen bed and a dresser. Off the bedroom you will find a full-sized, front loading, stacked washer and dryer. There is also an additional BEDroom, literally, off the laundry area. The bed is a full sized, wall-to-wall from head-to-toe. There are sliding glass doors leading from the main bedroom to a small and very private fenced backyard area with a deck.

Behind the kitchen is the bathroom with separate shower room.

There is wireless Internet included. There is a smoke detector and a fire extinguisher.

Pelican Cottage is a small, cute and cozy cottage built behind and attached to our garage. It is part of a residential property in a residential neighborhood. You share the driveway parking with us. Our back yard is on the other side of the fence. It is private and quiet and most times you will not even see us. However, it is our home and occasionally, you may find us working in the yard or mowing grass or fixing the brakes on the car. We are not a commercial conglomerate. We offer Pelican Cottage as a comfortable, homey alternative to the sterile and limited facilities of hotels or motel rooms.

About Kerrie Godding

We transplanted ourselves to Tarpon Springs after spending 28 years moving hither and yon in support of Jerry's Naval career. Jerry is working part time as a Consultant and Kerrie is a whimsical artist. Our children are grown and on their own. We have substituted them with Brinkley, a yellow Lab 2-year-old and Lily, a 7-year-old Basset Hound. We love taking our pontoon boat, Elvis, out for cruises and spending wonderful afternoons on one of the deserted Gulf Coast beaches.

Kerrie Godding purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Kerrie Godding chose Tarpon Springs

Pelican Cottage is smack dab in the middle of all that goes on in Tarpon Springs. Walking, we are 6 minutes to downtown Tarpon Avenue, 6 minutes to the Sponge Docks, 6 minutes to the Pinellas Trail. We are a couple of blocks from Spring Bayou - a beautiful place to walk ringed with a sidewalk and ending in Craig Park. Our Tarpon Springs Beaches are 5 minutes by car. So many things go on in Tarpon all the time. You can do as much or as little as you'd like.

My home nest away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Pelican Cottage was such a sweet charming cottage - it matched the personalities of my hosts, Kerrie and Jerry. Stayed for a month and felt right at home. Plenty of privacy, yet help and advice were only a phone call or knock-on-the-door away. Appreciate all Kerrie did to welcome us on that first day, especially the wine basket, and for welcoming our two dogs. If you have dogs, this is the place to go....nice fenced in yard and even a dog-door! This was my first visit to Florida and, though we traveled about a bit, no other place seemed at peaceful and homey as Tarpon Springs. Love that little town. The Bayous are gorgeous. The town is very walkable and pet friendly. All in all, a great stay at a great cottage. Thanks Kerrie and Jerrie and look forward to seeing you again in the coming years.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Cottage is just right for having a quiet, safe place to relax and call home away from home. We are very happy that we chose Pelican Cottage and would do so again.

Very cute cottage with everything

  • 5 of 5

Very cute cottage with everything you need for an enjoyable stay in Tarpon Springs. Walking distance from the sponge docks and downtown area. Jerry and Kerrie are both delightful hosts and quite knowledgeable of Tarpon Springs. Our dogs loved their own backyard off of the cottage. The cottage is located in a very quiet neighborhood.

Niceville, Florida

Good location and space plus well decorated and furnished with a fenced yard for your dog

  • 5 of 5

We were greeted upon arrival; Jerry explained the cottage details, provided a map of Tarpon Springs, and described points of interest. We enjoyed the sponge docks, the historic downtown area, the two public beaches, and the wonderful Greek people and their food. And Maisie Love enjoyed the fenced back yard. The cottage was exactly what we expected and Tarpon Springs was too! We recommend this three day visit to anyone.

A cute cottage, well furnished and with great facilities, set in the owners grounds but with excellent privacy. Comfortable, chilled, cozy, pretty, with beautiful touches. Fantastic location, so close to the Spring Bayou and the sponge docks. Kerrie and Jerry were so welcoming, helpful and keen to ensure my stay met my expectations. It exceeded them! Thank you :-)

This was a very nice experience, perfect place to be away from work in a very nice neighborhood. We both were in need of a relaxing time even with the dogs. The place was very clean and Kerrie was very attentive, we are planning to go back again next year.
