Best. Vacation. Ever.

  • 5 of 5

You know it was a good time, when you return home exhausted from all the fun! The house was perfect for our family (5 adults and 2 kids) and Northeast Harbor was a wonderful home base. The house is a 30 second walk from some of the best donuts we've ever had (Colonel's) and just a short walk/run/ride to everything MDI has to offer. Erica was wonderful to work with and the house is adorable and provided everything we needed.

Owner's Response: Justine, Thank you for the wonderful review! I have to agree about the donuts, they are sinful :-) We are so glad you had a great time and Lilac provided a nice home base for your vacation. Hope to have you come back real soon!

Wonderful house and guest house. Privacy gained. The best vrboin NE Harbor

Recommend. Owner response time and handle of any situation immediate. The downfall of the area is the lack of good places to eat. Town rolls up its sidewalks early. Restaurants a very needed thing

Perfect location for our group of 6 who wanted to hike different trails.

  • 5 of 5

Would definitely rent this house again. Loved the non-tourist feel of Northeast Harbor and ease of transport to different Park trails. Loved exploring nearby Thuya & Asticou Gardens.

House was nicely private, well appointed, and very clean and comfy with a couple of minor exceptions (dirty band-aid in dresser drawer, bunk bed room didn't have hooks/closet to hang up clothes, bathroom didn't have a bathmat or exhaust fan, and clawfoot tub shower didn't provide the security that an unsteady elderly person would have liked).

Hints to future renters: go to the Harbor stop for Island Explorer trips toward Bar Harbor (bus only stops on Main St on outbound trips). If the neighbor is burning smokey wood, just shut the downstairs windows and it's not a problem.

Don't mean to sound critical -- we were really happy with our accommodations!

Family Trip to Acadia

  • 5 of 5

This was a trip with my sister and our husbands. The house was perfectly located to Acadia and the surrounding communities. The house was perfect for two couples and nicely equipped. Erica was very helpful with suggestions for the local area and the check in was very easy and convenient for us since we were driving up from Boston. Thank you again.

  • 5 of 5

Central Location steps away from downtown Northeast Harbor and an easy drive to anywhere on the island. Beautiful house, very comfortable accommodations. Great communication from the owners, it all felt very easy. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
