Overview

About the property

6 Bedrooms, 3.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 15

This beautiful and unique Vermont Farmhouse sits just outside of town with views of Okemo Mountain. Surrounded by private land, it is the perfect place to get away from it all. In the summer you can spend time around the outdoor fire pit, hike local trails, swim in the stocked trout pond or lounge on the back deck. In the fall it is impossible to beat the foliage in the area and right at the house. The winter time offers excellent skiing at Okemo Mountain, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and many other activities. This peaceful property is perfect for your family skiing vacation, weekend fishing trip or just some quiet time away. The house features a dining room with a large table and fireplace, a bunk room for the kids, a full kitchen, 4 bathrooms, 6 bedrooms including a beautiful master bedroom and a large living room with open fireplace. The property features a pond, a deck for relaxing and grilling, an apple orchard, a fire pit, hiking and skiing trails, direct access to the VAST snowmobile trail system and is also only minutes from the Black River. This rental is in a remote location and the building has the character of an old Vermont farmhouse. There is no TV and no WiFi and that is on purpose! There is a house phone and cell phone service at the house but it is limited. Ludlow and Okemo are only 20 minutes away. Woodstock, Quechee and Killington are also close by. Come and enjoy some time away at this truly special place! We will consider seasonal winter rentals from January to March.

Beautiful place to get away

  • 5 of 5

The farmhouse is a great location to get away with friends and enjoy each other's company. The kitchen is small but the amazing dining room makes up for it. We had a murder mystery dinner party while staying here and the dining room was a great setting for it. We were there for two days and one day it rained but we still enjoyed ourselves. There is plenty of room for people to hang out together or find a quiet spot for themselves. The owner was immediately responsive when we had a question during our stay. We would definitely consider renting this farmhouse again.

Great property

  • 4 of 5

Like others mentioned it's an older home with older furniture and not much amenities but myself and extended family enjoyed every minute of it. Enough space for everyone. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the pond and beautiful scenery. Would definitely recommend if you want to get way from it all.

Rustic relaxing retreat

  • 5 of 5

The property is expansive and well kept. The home is a slice of New England tradition. The property owners were responsive and helpful. We were looking to unplug for a weekend and enjoy the outdoors - the Farmhouse was an ideal setting for doing so. Thanks very much to the owners for sharing such a special place!

The pictures do not do this place justice-- it is gorgeous, charming & peaceful

  • 4 of 5

We did a surprise birthday party for my husband with family and a few friends. Enough room for everyone to roam the property, be free, play, and come together for beautiful fireside dinners. We feel so blessed to have been able to enjoy this home.

Breathtaking Property

  • 5 of 5

The property at the Farmhouse was unreal, with sweeping views of meadows filled with wildflowers and rolling hills in the background. The lawns were very well maintained, and the pond was perfect for floating around on a hot weekend. The neighbors are pretty far away, so you definitely have the run of the land, with a ton of walking trails and orchards to explore.

The inside of the house and pool barn are pretty rustic. It wouldn't necessarily be ideal for a group looking for pristine housing, as you can tell the house is old, but the exposed beams and weathered barn wood walls were perfect for our group of outdoorsy people. Definitely gave the property the charm that we all feel in love with. The house is really large, with plenty of room for a big group to spread out. We had such an amazing weekend, with Tim being very helpful answering questions ahead of time, and we will definitely be returning again!

The perfect balance of rural living and comfort

  • 5 of 5

We hosted our family reunion here and everyone loved the farmhouse. We had plenty of space in this gorgeous setting, and enjoyed the pool hall (major bonus) and swimming in the pond. Everyone slept well, despite our late-night pool tournament, and commented on how comfy the beds were. With no light form neighbors, we had perfect meteor shower viewing conditions. There wasn't much outdoor furniture but Tim hooked me up with a catering company to rent from. Tim was a great host, and very accommodating.
