In residential area of privately owned villas, short walk to Vau beach, Praia da Rocha and coastal trails;15min walk to Portimão. The city bus stops at the entrance of the estate providing reasonably priced connections to nearby sites, so car hire is not necessary - take it to go to Alvor village.

Supermarkets, restaurants only a short walk down the street.Wall around property, gated, plenty of parking.

1Km from Alto Golf (view to fairways from villa – guests can avail of club-house facilities, etc., 30% discounts on green fees); 10 min drive from Penina Golf course and others.

Sightseeing: walk along the coastal cliffs - a must! Monchique - a haven for walkers/bird watchers; historic towns of Lagos and Silves, and well preserved castles - 16Km; wineries nearby; famous Casino in Praia da Rocha; 15mins to largest car-boot and gypsy market; lovely fishing towns of Ferragudo (to the east) and Alvor (to the west). Near three major shopping centres.

We feel privileged to live near one of the most beautiful beaches in the coastal Praia da Rocha stretch, just an easy walk down the road from the estate. There are over 70 beaches listed in the Algarve - typically, the south coast beaches, with calmer waves and gentle slopping shoreline, are very nice for wading, beach combing, safe swimming and sunbathing. The west coast is exciting, wild and excellent for surfing, body boarding, with dramatic cliffs and landscape.

Why Isabel M. chose Portimao region

The Algarve enjoys more sunshine than any other place in Europe, helping to make it the popular destination it is. The winters are mild and the summers hot, but not extreme.

Location

Car: not necessary

Faro is the nearest airport, a 40 min drive from Portimão on the A22 motorway; or take the train/bus, about 1 hour. Car hires are available and it is recommended to reserve in advance of arrival, especially during the high season. The airport in Lisbon is about a 3 hours drive, or a 4 hour bus or train ride away. We can help with arrangements. If there is a need, please let us know. Formula 1 circuit about 20 min away. Alvor has a large beach surrounded by expansive dunes which lead to a calm estuary. Here you can take kite-surfing lessons, or just observe the colorful kite surfers and take advantage of the extensive, new boardwalks that provide pleasant access to the dunes and beach. Come here for a holiday out of season: a typical day in April is similar to an English summer day - with the garden looking its best.

Average day-time temps - June:18º, July:20º, August:20-28º, Sept:19-25º.

The property is in an estate of privately owned villas, no traffic, as it is in a cul-de-sac. Vau beach is just down the road from the estate. Guests have outdoor designated sunbathing areas, sun loungers and patios with outdoor furniture (table, chairs) - the salt water pool is available to guests (shared). Car not necessary - easy to walk to the beaches, the beautiful coastal cliffs, Praia da Rocha hub of shops, night life/Casino and down town Portimão. The area has numerous good restaurants. This is golf heaven and the apartments are great golf retreats (discount on golf). The gardens are attractive and appealing during the Spring and summer months. This is the perfect setting for a couple wanting to relax.Take advantage of the myriad restaurants, cafés, bars or picnics at the beach or cliffs. Provided: Linens, towels (also for beach/pool), pillows, ironing board and iron. Extra towels provided. One weekly cleaning service for rentals over one week.

We love it , Isabel & Greg are terrific people, very friendly and helpful

The apartment is very clean , the grounds are pretty and well maintained, the neighbourhood is very safe and the bus stops at the end of the road. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. If you are a golfer there are courses near by and if you love the beach it is beautiful right down the road. We ended up staying much longer than we first intended, we would recommend this place to family & friends, a little bit of paradise . Thank you Isabel & Greg

Excellent accomodation and location

We stayed in the Villa for 3 weeks. The apartment met all our needs. The kitchen Is well equipped. The selection of English TV channels was very nice for the down times. The location is a short walk to the beach and the beaches in the area are amazing. We explored Portimao with the car and also by foot. We also did a grest deal of exploring th Algarve with the rental car. Isabel was extremely helpful answering our questions and giving us suggestions. I would recommend the Villa to friends.
