15 Minutes Walk To Vau Beach And Portimão Centre.

In residential area of privately owned villas, short walk to Vau beach, Praia da Rocha and coastal trails;15min walk to Portimão. The city bus stops at the entrance of the estate providing reasonably priced connections to nearby sites, so car hire is not necessary - take it to go to Alvor village.

Supermarkets, restaurants only a short walk down the street.Wall around property, gated, plenty of parking.

1Km from Alto Golf (view to fairways from villa – guests can avail of club-house facilities, etc., 30% discounts on green fees); 10 min drive from Penina Golf course and others.

Sightseeing: walk along the coastal cliffs - a must! Monchique - a haven for walkers/bird watchers; historic towns of Lagos and Silves, and well preserved castles - 16Km; wineries nearby; famous Casino in Praia da Rocha; 15mins to largest car-boot and gypsy market; lovely fishing towns of Ferragudo (to the east) and Alvor (to the west). Near three major shopping centres.

We feel privileged to live near one of the most beautiful beaches in the coastal Praia da Rocha stretch, just an easy walk down the road from the estate. There are over 70 beaches listed in the Algarve - typically, the south coast beaches, with calmer waves and gentle slopping shoreline, are very nice for wading, beach combing, safe swimming and sunbathing. The west coast is exciting, wild and excellent for surfing, body boarding, with dramatic cliffs and landscape.

What makes this apartment unique

Many restaurants and convenience stores, shops, banks, all nearby. The village of Alvor is like a quaint shopping center, but there are many others around (Retail Park, Aqua, Guia). Continente shopping center is 15 mins walk away (supermarket, ATM machines, shops, food court, cinema). There are several water slide parks - a bus for 'Slide and Splash' is available, stopping just down the road from us. Other activities available in the area: windsurfing, surf, para-gliding, skydiving, kite-surfing, horseback riding, cycling, hiking, dolphin watching, kayaking, jet skiing, diving, snorkeling, paragliding, coastal tours, sailing, fishing. The Formula 1 race track is 20 min away. You will find all the details in a Welcome Folder upon arrival, but fell free to ask us for more details! We have secured discounts in some of the nearby restaurants, which we recommend (info also available in Welcome Folder). We can also offer discounts in services and shops in the area; and arrange for grocery shopping, meal preparation and/or picnic packing.

Home from home!

We Had a wonderful relaxing two weeks by the pool and also at the local beach. Isabel and Greg were fabulous hosts, settling us in, giving us advice on local information but leaving us to enjoy the local area.

The studio apartment was ideal for the two of us. Very homely, cosy and very Portuguese! There are lots of wonderful local restaurants to visit and we spent most evenings down near the beach restaurants having a drink, watching the sun go down. An amazing holiday! 😃򐰽𣑍😎򓠼󗬞

Wonderful hosts made for a special stay

After reading the other reviews and looking at the photos we thought that we'd enjoy the property but had a couple of reservations about it.

The delightful hosts made it a special time for us. They voluntarily picked us up from the train station and dropped us at the bus station on departure too. They had wine and fruit waiting for us on our arrival and were always there to help if you wanted it but were also completly unobtrusive too.

The property is their family home and they rent out 2 apartments. Each is self-contained and has it's own terrace area. The pool is shared as is a barbeque area if you want to use it.

We were in the smaller of the 2 apartments. The downside was the bathroom upstairs but we knew that when we booked. Also, the kitchenette had no hot water but that wasn't a problem as we just boiled the kettle for washing up. The washing machine for this, smaller apartment is to the rear of the house.

We read a review that the property is dark but it wasn't as dark as we feared. We don't mind a dark bedroom and there was enough light in the living area that you didn't need lights on during the day.

There was a plentiful supply of towels, beach chairs, umbrella etc so you really have everything you need. If other guests have left behind tea, coffee, detergent etc then that's there for you too.

There is an Aldi, Lidl and another large supermarket about 20 minutes walk away and the beach is just 15 minutes down the hill where there are a few touristy restaurants. We could walk to the bus station in about 25 minutes but the train station would have been quite a bit longer. There was a bus stop only 1-2 minutes away that would take you in to Portimao if you didn't want to walk.

All in all, we had a lovely stay that was made special by the deightful hosts.

nous avons passé une semaine super agréable en Algarve des paysages a couper le souffle merci a greg et isa pour leur accueil chaleureux un appartement très bien situé et fonctionnel rien ne manquait; pour nous c'était top rien a redire nous retournerons dans cette location avec plaisir encore merci pour votre sympathie

On ne nous dit pas tout au sujet de cette location

Et oui quelle déception à la découverte de cet appartement qui se situe au sous sol de la maison des propriétaires. Pas de fenêtre donnant sur l'extérieur. La seule lumière naturelle provient de la porte d'entrée avec une vitre opaque jouxtant une mini fenêtre oscillo battant. Donc aucune lumière naturelle dans la cuisine de 1m2 sans eau chaude, ni dans le salon , de même pour la chambre une mini fenêtre de 30cm sur 15 cm à la limite du plafond .De ce fait lumière artificielle dès que l'on rentre dans l'appartement. On se sent oppressé par cet appartement en souterrain. Dommage que ce la ne soit précisé dans l'annonce. nous aurions dû nous méfier car les photos ont été prises avec toutes les lampes allumées. Nous avions hâte de retrouver notre chez nous. Les extérieurs sont conformes à l'annonce. Malgré cette mauvaise surprise, les propriétaires sont charmants et très attentionnés. Logement déconseillé si vous voulez passer des vacances dans un appartement sympathique. Claude et Véronique

jolie paysage location ou tout n'est pas dit

Bonjour, être en vacances et avoir un appartement sans aucune fenêtre dans les 2 pièces, juste la porte d'entrée !c'était propre mes des tapis pas désinfectés qui ont provoqués allergie,

en faite vous logez dans un sous-sol sans lumière de l'extérieur pas de VMC,

pas d'eau chaude a la kitchnette pour la vaisselle !!!!!, pas de lave-linge et les propriétaires qui sont sur la photo ne sont pas les mêmes que lors de notre arrivé

Just less than 5min. drive away is Alto Golf (18 holes); Boa Vista Golf (18 holes), home of the Henry Cooper Classic, is 15min drive away. Penina Championship Resort (3 courses, one 18-hole) is 10 min drive away. Also Palmares, Morgado, Oceânico O'Connor Jr.! We can offer a 20 % discount at Alto Golf, 10% at Penina and discounts on golf a rentals shop. September is prime golf time - the weather is usually very pleasant. Special Interest Holidays

Formula 1 circuit about 20 min away. Alvor has a large beach surrounded by expansive dunes which lead to a calm estuary. Here you can take kite-surfing lessons, or just observe the colorful kite surfers and take advantage of the extensive, new boardwalks that provide pleasant access to the dunes and beach. Come here for a holiday out of season: a typical day in April is similar to an English summer day - with the garden looking its best.
