The perfect Thanksgiving getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved "glamping" aboard the Northern Cross! The weather was perfect for our eco-adventures which included swimming in the marina in the morning and kayaking, paddle-boarding, parasailing and everything else you can imagine around the Keys in the afternoon courtesy of Paddle the Keys, Aquaholic Adventures and Sunset Watersports. We had heard that the Keys were still recovering from Hurricane Irma, but it wasn't an issue. We were able to do all of the things we originally planned, including feeding the taurpon at Robbie's and renting a boat from A1A Watersports to take out to Alligator Reef. We were able to snorkel at John Pennekamp, and all of the local restaurants we looked forward to, like Cafe Moka, What the Fish and our favorite, Marker 88, were open. Captain Paul was very helpful when it came to getting us all set up, and our boys really enjoyed camping both on deck and in the berths. Now that we have stayed on a sailboat, we can't imagine enjoying the Keys any other way! We highly recommend this experience to any adventure-loving family.

Owner's Response: OK, I simply cannot think of a better way to celebrate Thanksgiving (or any other occasion) than to stay on a boat in the Keys. I think you should put yourself up for hire as a Florida Keys trip planner! Add world class scuba diving to your list and you truly will have described a traveler's paradise. Thanks especially for your post-Irma plug. Everyone in the Keys has been working overtime to welcome people back and I am happy that for your family, we have succeeded!

Stellar time aboard northern cross

  • 5 of 5

Boat is in very fine condition. Quite comfortable. Marina is populated with a friendly and colorful cast of characters whom we enjoyed chatting with beneath the shade of the tiki hut. The cove in which the marina is located is quiet and calm. Capt. Paul met us checked us out on the boat systems and checked with us a couple of times during our stay to ensure all was going well. The boat owners, likewise, checked in with us to

Make certain all was as it should be. We enjoyed out stay aboard and highly recommend it to others.

Owner's Response: Glad to hear Northern Cross and the folks at Bluewaters treated you well. We make every effort to ensure the boat is just the way we would want it ourselves. Can't say enough about our manager, Captain Paul. He is always on top of things and is ready to help make sure your stay is an enjoyable one.

She has some hours on her and her own stories to tell but she is carefully maintained and very clean

  • 5 of 5

My step-daughter and 2 grandsons (15 & 12) stayed with me aboard for 5 nights. The boat served us very well for a home base. The marina is quiet but very friendly. Captain Paul was helpful. It was a wonderful spring break for all of us. My youngest grandson kept trying to find reasons to stay! I would highly recommend this property for a true Florida Keys low pressure vacation. Just bring swimming gear, flip flops, and a sense of humor! Thanks for sharing your boat with my family.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. Glad the boys had a wonderful time. Kids (and adults too) love swimming from the back of the boat. Many of our guests say they see more fish that way than going out to the reefs. Happy to have contributed to your family's spring break.

Relaxing and different!

  • 4 of 5

Whether you have ever stayed on a boat or not, this is a great way to experience "living" in the Keys. You need to be organised and travel light ( or leave some luggage in the car), but you will enjoy the view, the peacefulness and a unique way holiday. The people who live in the other boats are genuinely helpful. All of our party (5) would book again.

Owner's Response: I am very pleased to read that you like others want to come back again! It is the perfect place to relax after a busy day in the Keys especially since you can swim right off the back of the boat. With a party of 5 adults like yours it can get a bit cozy with everyone's luggage but fortunate the car is never more than steps away to stow your extras. The local marina residents are always ready to lend a friendly smile and helpful advice. It was great to have you aboard.

It was beautiful, quiet and restful!

  • 5 of 5

People at the marina were friendly and always willing to help. Went sailing with Capt Paul and had a great time. Yacht was spacious and very clean. Hardest decisions we made all week were where we were going to eat!! We had a great time!

Owner's Response: Always good to hear when guests had a great time. Glad you found Northern Cross spacious for 4 adult guests. You learned one great thing about the Keys beyond all the great water activities - it is also an amazing place for dinner! The choice is pretty much endless and many of the water-side restaurants have live entertainment nightly so it's really more than dinner, it's a whole night out! All the best for future travels. Rick

Northern Cross vacation

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous time we had on the Northern Cross. We had never stayed on a boat before and it was a wonderful experience especially under the care of Captain Paul! The boat was roomy, clean and comfortable and happy hours at the Tiki Hut while barbecuing was such fun. We met new friends who we hope to see again on our next visit!

Owner's Response: Great to see that even "first time boaters" love to stay on Northern Cross. I think about 75% of our guests have never done a "live-aboard" before and like you, they are pleasantly surprised. The Tiki Hut is one of the many things that makes Bluewater Marina special. Not only a great place to BBQ, you will meet some of the local residents who are always happy to give you advice about things to do and places to go. Captain Paul is also "at-the-ready" to take guests out on one of his Keys adventures - like a sunset cruise! Glad you loved you stay. Rick
