Excellent Accomodations!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week on Northern Cross. What an excellent experience to stay on a sailing yacht versus a hotel or condo. Tony and Rick were easy to work with and provided excellent information concerning their boat and all associated matters. The boat is in excellent shape. With 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, our family of 5 fit perfectly. And you can swim right from the back and rinse off at the outdoor shower. Captain Paul was the perfect neighbor and a great resource for the Keys. He even offers some cool outings via his powerboat. The marina owners, Jerry and Sandy, were most inviting. Clean showers and bathrooms, and a Tiki hut with grills available for cooking your catch. And the landscaping was amazing.

I can't say enough about this option.

Thanks All!

Owner's Response: Thank you for such an upbeat review. Visiting the Keys is all about being on the water and meeting friendly people. Looks like you found both. The Tiki Hut is definitely the social hub of Bluewater Marina. Far better and less expensive to BBQ there than to go to an expensive restaurant. Glad you did some adventuring with Captain Paul. We find more and more of our guests take advantage of his "adventure list" exclusively available for our guests. One thing we talked about over the phone was seeing the dolphins swimming right off the back of our boat where you can swim. Now that was a real treat! I've seen lots of tarpon and a few manatees but so far haven't had the luck you had. Most of all, it was a pleasure to talk with you and hear personally how much your family enjoyed their stay on Northern Cross.

Great Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

I recently returned from a 4 night 'girls trip' stay aboard the Northern Cross. It was a wonderful experience. Rick and Tony were fantastic to work with and communication throughout the rental process and stay was superb. The boat is beautiful and spacious and well taken care of. There were three of us on this trip and the space and bedrooms offered just enough room. We spent many evenings swimming in the water right off the boat. Captain Paul was great. His excursions were fun and affordable and very convenient (he is in the boat next door). We apparently stayed during the off season because we rarely saw anyone at the Tiki Hut but the people we did see around the marina were very kind. (One gentleman gave me his laundry detergent to do our laundry when he overheard me saying I needed to run to the Winn Dixie to pick some up). I would highly recommend the Northern Cross!

Owner's Response: Thanks four your 5 star review. There are certainly a bunch of friendly and helpful people living on their boats at Bluewater Marina. Sounds like Captain Paul kept "the girls" well entertained. He loves taking people out on adventures for a very reasonable cost. Also happy to see Northern Cross met your expectations. She really is a great lady!

Great being right on the water

  • 5 of 5

This was a very nice boat in a very nice marina. It was close to everything and very clean. Would recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different than a hotel. The owners and the property manager were wonderful to work with and we had the perfect vacation!

Unique Keys getaway for the two of us

  • 5 of 5

We were so excited to book our stay aboard the Northern Cross, and our expectations were definitely met! While it was just the two of us, my husband and I agreed you could easily accommodate more guests. We spent the majority of our time either on the deck of the boat or out and about enjoying the abundance of activities and restaurants in the area. The owners, Tony and Rick, provided a comprehensive list of restaurants along the Keys, and Captain Paul provided a short list of his own favorites on arrival as well - be sure to try out his sunset recommendation! The other marina residents were incredibly welcoming, even feeding us dinner and sharing stories into the late hours one night. Our stay was such a lovely change of pace from the daily grind, it was quite easy to put work and responsibility out of mind and just enjoy our vacation. If you are considering this rental, don't hesitate to book it.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your superb review. You really captured what makes Northern Cross so special. The boat itself, the marina where it is located, the people you meet and all the great things to do and places to eat! We really try to provide our guests with a unique accommodation that as you say allows you to "forget it all". Appreciate your very enthusiastic recommendation.

A fabulous start to our wedding and honeymoon

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for something memorable and romantic for our stay in the keys for our wedding, Northern star didn't disappoint, from the start Tony and Rick were in touch and answered any questions we had and once we arrived paul was on hand for any assistance we required.

We were made to feel very welcome by the local community and the marina is such a beautiful setting.

Northern star has every thing you need for a comfortable stay with a difference even when accommodating two couples getting ready on their wedding day! Made all the easier by the amenities in the marina. We cannot recommend staying upon northern star more highly if your looking for a beautiful, peaceful, comfortable place to stay central to all the keys have to offer. Would definitely return without a doubt !!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your compliments Paul. You were our first "wedding" guests - yet another way to enjoy Northern Cross. Glad to hear our boat added that special touch to your stay in the Keys. I couldn't agree with you more that Bluewater Marina is perfectly situated for visiting the Keys. Quiet, friendly folks, great amenities including the "Tiki Hut", and your own "backyard" right on the water where you can going swimming to your heart's content. We are already starting to book "summer" guests who come here for the the great fishing and cultural festivals that the Keys have to offer. You'd be welcome as returning guests anytime!

Awesome Spring Break with family of 4

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay on Northern Cross. The boat is a true yacht with lots of room. My kids LOVED that they each got their own rooms! The 3 cabin layout was perfect for us, as well as the large galley and U shaped couch/table area. It allowed us to eat breakfast and other meals aboard. The boat has a great swim platform with ladder down we used to swim, snorkle, and paddle board right from the boat even though we were just tied to the dock. The marina area has clear deep water. While paddle boarding in the canals we saw dolphin, a guy catching tarpon right from the seawall, and even had a manatee RIGHT under us as we paddled. It was awesome. The marina is very friendly. The locals all were glad to see us, chat with us and offer local advice. There is an awesome tiki hut with grill to use. The bathrooms and showers are clean. There is even an ice machine on site to keep those beverages cold:) We rented a powerboat one day and ran out to the reefs and snorkeled on our own, then toured the bay side. We saw the shows at Theater of the Seas as well. The restaurants were great. HH at the Big Chill was a great deal with awesome sunsets. Lore-lei also had awesome sunsets, and the magic show was cool. Paul was great orientating us to the boat, and the owners even called me personally during the week to ensure we had what we needed and were enjoying the stay. Great personal touches. We sure look forward to returning.

Owner's Response: Hi Curt. Thanks for your 5 star review! I am amazed at all the things you and your family managed to pack into your stay. I am very glad to see that you discovered how friendly the people are at Bluewater Marina. They had great things to say about your family. Paul, our manager, even reported you were seen washing the deck of the boat before you left. Talk about about service from customers! I think you found that there is no better way to visit the Keys than to stay on a boat. We really appreciate your vote of confidence in what we have to offer our guests. You are welcome back anytime.
