About The Owner

Born and raised on the Plateau, I am an avid supporter of keeping the area beautiful and welcoming to all who visit. I am a pet lover and board dogs. My Cabin is 'Pet friendly'. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and understand the need to just 'get away' and 'get in touch'. I've designed my cabin with this in mind!

The Owner purchased this house in 2000

Why The Owner chose Tennessee

My cabin sits on 40 acres adjoining the South Cumberland State Park. The property has been in my family for years. You will love being a part of our history. Bring your dog and hike the trails or jog around the Grundy Lakes. Visit the The Dutchmaid Bakery, the oldest running bakery in Tennessee. Walk the beautiful campus of the University of the South. Bike the Mountain Goat Bike Trail! It all awaits you here!

Exactly as advertised

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and in a wonderfully secluded area, but only about two minutes from Tracy City and ten from Monteagle. You can hear the creek at the bottom of the ridgeline below the deck out back, and because of the slope you are basically up in the leaves of the woods below. The kitchen has all the right cookware and the like, and the washer and dryer were a blessing. I was there for two full weeks while in class at Sewanee, and would rent the property again.

Perfect for us!

  • 5 of 5

Loved staying at this house. 15 minute drive to foster falls where we spent all day climbing. Nice to be so close and have a place to come to back and relax, get cleaned up and cook up a dinner. Owner was prompt in answering every question I had prior to arrival. I will definitely stay here again if it's available when I'm in town.

Experiences in the mountains of Tennessee

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at this property multiple times over the past three years and have never been disappointed. The cabin has always been perfect for my needs and located in a wonderful, central location for my work as well as all manner of recreational opportunities. Hearing the nearby Fiery Gizzard Falls from the back deck has always provided such a relaxing atmosphere as I worked on necessary reports. Thank you, Emily, for being a great landlord and tour guide!

Perfect place to get away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

This house is far better than the pictures portray. It is cozy, comfortable, and in a beautiful location. Emily, the owner, is incredibly hospitable and responded immediately to all of our questions. We love how pet friendly she is, but you would also never know there had ever been other pets here-it is so clean! Thank you, Emily, for a great spring break! We will recommend your great place to all of our friends!

A Restorative Stay

  • 5 of 5

This was my first trip to Sewanee/Monteagle but, I was with a veteran. The Farm is nestled on top of a bluff overlooking a gorgeous valley known as Firey Gizzard. Sitting on the back porch, drinking a cup of coffee, you can hear the creek rushing. The home itself is an open concept, perfect for holding conversation and whipping up dinner in the full kitchen. The beds (including the pull out futon in the living area) are comfortable and clean, complete with beautiful views. Emily, the owner, is the pinnacle of hospitality. She was responsive and proactive, keeping brochures of interesting sights and restaurants around town. Speaking of town, The Farm is far enough to breathe easy but, close enough to enjoy the town of Sewanee. My party was thankful for such a wonderful place to decompress from the hustle and bustle of the work week and certainly will be returning to The Farm for future stays.
