Charming two bedroom, 1 1/2 bath cottage located on top of North Mountain in Winchester, Virginia. The views across the valley are spectacular. The Cozy Cottage s a great 'get-out-of-town' spot for Northern Virginia residents. So close to Washington, D.C. yet far enough away.
Check out a neat webpage and app, 'Old Town Winchester', for things to do, places to go, and great places to eat. (Available in your phone's App Store.)

The Cozy Cottage of Winchester * Stacy Bromley-Wenger purchased this cottage in 2001
This charming little house has a way of relaxing you within seconds. You are away from everything yet not needing anything! I call the cottage 'My Serenity' because it truly is just that.
We successfully rented this sweetheart out as a vacation rental five years ago. Due to travel requirements for my job, I wasn't able to continue renting it as such. Our full-timers moved out in January and the renovations began immediately. Since our original page was deleted, I will be asking past guests to kindly post reviews.
Oh my gosh, stay just once and you can fill in this blank.
We rented the Cozy Cottage and were not disappointed at all. Everything worked (hot tub, air hockey, coffee machine) and I truly could not have been any more happier with our stay. It was very peaceful and comfortable and it made for a wonderful vacation. We were in town for a wedding and we made it into an extended vacation and rented the cottage. We visited DC on two different days, saw the Patsy Cline Museum and ate in downtown Winchester. We really enjoyed Crepe Works. The Wal-Mart was close for us to drive and get anything we needed. The drive to the cottage was a fun drive and absolutely beautiful. The view from the cottage was so pretty. We were lucky enough to be there when leaves were changing colors.
My boyfriend, daughter, and I had a 3 night stay at this cabin and absolutely loved it. Stacy is wonderful, and was readily available for any little question I had. The cottage is even better in person (not that the pictures aren't good enough!) It was so well stocked with every little thing that we needed, was super comfortable, and surely lives up to the name "The Cozy Cottage". Thank you for providing a home away from home on our long weekend, and we can't wait to come back for another getaway!
We had a lovely weekend! Everything we wanted was there, and it was so nice and remote (a pleasant surprise). The cabin itself is so cute, but we really enjoyed stargazing in the hot tub and watching the sunrise from the porch swing! A couple of things...I am glad we drove there during daylight hours. It would have been challenging as a first time night drive :) The other thing is that the garbage/recycling facility doesn't open until 10am on Sunday (and 7am all other days). We will be back, next year!!
I booked this cottage last minute due to a pipe bursting in my condo and my not having water for a few days. I really needed a getaway with my dogs where we could recharge after the stress of construction. Stacy was incredible at responding and making sure everything was in place for me. The cottage is gorgeous, cozy and the perfect place to relax. The enclosed decks were perfect for morning yoga and reading. The hot tub was a wonderful treat and so many thoughtful touches added to the experience. The cottage is well stocked with many items, which helped with last-minute planning. My dogs absolutely loved the decks and getting to go on walks!
Stacy is a lovely person and her cottage is amazing. We have stayed at cabins in many various locations around the country and I have to say that hers is by far the most well-equipped we have ever had the pleasure to visit. All of the basics are there, as well as "extra" thoughtful touches like bug spray, charcoal for the grill, and lotion. It's truly a home away from home experience. The location is completely secluded and serene and you are surrounded by nature at its best. The house is very well laid out with plenty of space for our family of 5 (4 humans + 1 dog). We loved the proximity to Winchester and all it had to offer. Thanks for a fantastic stay, Stacy! We'll be back. :)
We really liked the Cozy Cottage. It was bigger then we expected and had plenty to keeps the kids entertained. The view was fantastic. We felt like we were on top of the world. My husband especially liked the privacy and being away from everything. The kids liked the family room downstairs and in fact spent most of their time down there. We did spend some time sight seeing in Washington D.C. and at Gettysburg. They were only a couple hours drive from where we were staying. I like that there was a Wal-Mart pretty much right on the way to the cabin. We bought all the food we ate while we at the cabin at the Winchester Wal-mart. It was very nice not having to bring a bunch of food with us from Wisconsin. Our budget liked that we could eat at the cabin instead of having to eat at a restaurant like we would have had to do if we had to stay at a hotel. Also was very helpful that all the cooking pots and pans were there and even a smoothie blender for my morning smoothies. We are recommending this place to all our friends and family. Some day we hope to go back.

So you want to get away for a weekend? You send an inquiry and anxiously await an answer. I will always do my best to keep reservations on a first-come first-serve basis. However, inquiries do not reserve a property. Please keep in mind that HomeAway is a customer driven system. If another customer reserves the property with a payment, you could easily lose your slot if the owner accepts the payment. As a property owner, I do my best to watch for such instances however I am human after all...and mistakes can happen.
Along the lines of being human; accidents happen. However, when these accidents happen it can halt future reservations or cancel another renter's reservation. Due to recent damages to our home, we feel it is necessary to require a Property Damage Protection Policy. The policy protects both of us in the event of an accident.
The cleaning fee is non-refundable. This does not suggest for you to not pick up after yourself. The $75 fee is quite modest as it barely covers to cost of a two person crew. Please do not make it difficult to turn the house over for the next set of guests. Imagine your disappointment if you were the arriving guests after a destructive party weekend. The cleaning crew will need to delay your entry until the house is ready.
I have often been asked about discounts. As a wife of a veteran and the child of a police officer, I do understand your request. However, our rates are based on other homes' rental rates and our operating expenses. As the potential renter, please advise me if your budget does not afford the full amount up front. I will gladly accept an installment plan of up to three payments. I will also refund your money should you change your mind prior to your stay.
With all of that said....
Isn't it time to get away?!
