Our camp is on a private lot with 218 feet of lakefront. Featuring 5 bedrooms (sleeping 8), with plenty of space to relax. All the amenities you would look for in a home, and a yard that makes you want to stay outside.
As you pull in our driveway, the first thing you'll see is the beautiful lake. Along the shore, you'll notice our private stone boat launch, perfect for launching vessels, and dogs who like to wade. We have a large 14x20' dock with a swim ladder and boat cleats. The water is 3-4 feet deep on both sides, and 20' deep off the end. Perfect for those who like to float and those who like to dive right in. A stamped concrete patio with a queen size lounger is the perfect place for a relaxing read or an afternoon nap. The side yard has a fire pot with a stone surround and Adirondack chairs. There are two picnic tables to enjoy your BBQ meals on. The back yard has a swing set surrounded by a sandbox. All this still leaves plenty of room to set up games of Bocce ball or croquet.
When you enter the house, you will walk through the sunroom, with a couch, chair, coffee table, flat screen TV, and 6 sliding glass doors. You will then reach the main living area with the dining room, play area, and kitchen. The dining area has a large table, and a woodstove. The play area has plenty of toys available for the kiddies, or it can be used as an additional dining area. The kitchen is a full sized kitchen with a breakfast bar, stove, refrigerator, microwave, and all of the dishes and kitchen wares you will need.
Down the hall is the bathroom, with a toilet, sink, shower, washer, and dryer. There are 3 bedrooms downstairs, 2 full and 1 queen. Up the stairs there is another common area (with a love seat and two recliners), and two twin bedrooms.
Linens, towels, a toddler bed, and a travel high chair are all available upon request.
Firewood is provided and we request that you do not bring your own (invasive species can travel from one area to another on wood).
A white 26x16 party tent (with or without walls) is available upon request. Set up and take down included.
If there are any other special needs or requests - please contact the owner and we will see if we can accommodate your needs.
My husband and I both grew up within minutes of Ballston Lake. We love the area because it has a small town feel but still has lots of things to do. We both enjoy the outdoors. My husband is an avid fisherman and hunter. I love to golf, ski, and swim. There is always something fun going on in the area. The Saratoga Fairgrounds host a lot of different festivals and events throughout the summer and the Saratoga Racecourse really sparks Saratoga to life in July- September.
Katie Cottrell purchased this house in 2010
When we got engaged in 2010, we decided that our fairytale was not a big wedding - it was a camp on a lake. We bought this house and one month later got married in a small ceremony on the dock surrounded by our families. Since then we have spent our springs, summers, and falls, renovating and improving the property. It is currently a three season camp, although we have spent a few winter nights there- ice skating and ice fishing during the day. We have already built lots of traditions and made lots of memories at the lake, and hope to make many more over the years.
Our favorite part of the lake house is that it has become a gathering place for family and friends. Our daughter can play with her cousins. Our friends can come and stay over with their kids. There is always room for everyone to stay! There is nothing better than carrying kids to bed after a long day of swimming, and a long night of roasting marshmallows. Ok, there is one thing better - waking up and having breakfast together.
Awesome location, kids Loved playing on the lake, Carneys restaurant up the road is really nice, the house is fine, straight forward holiday house type deal, plenty of room. 2 draw backs.....no AC and sulphur water BUT because you have a beautiful Lake right on your backdoor you can forgive the small inconveniences.
Situated on a small island on Ballston Lake, this home and the environs are absolutely heavenly. The house is clean and large, with lots of amenities. Bring books and magazines because there's no internet - but I didn't miss it at all. The road to this home is iffy but worth the ride down the dirt road, and set your GPS to Westside Lake and not the address because Google maps will drop you off across the lake and tell you to walk! (Haha.) Have fun and bring family and friends.
Myself and a couple friends stayed at this home for a Wedding nearby and it fit our needs perfectly. I really liked the privacy of the home, although the road leading up to the house can be a bit crude the first few times (we bottomed out in our Subaru). The home was very clean when we arrived. We spent most of the extremely hot days hanging out on the dock, or when the sun got too hot in the screened in porch watching TV with the fans on us. For as private as the house is it's not far at all to go to the grocery stores (less than 10 minutes), or just to a convenience store (about 5 minutes). I highly recommend going into Ballston Spa for breakfast at Iron Roost. The listing was accurate as to all the amenities, although we didn't end up using any of the indoor fire stuff so I can't speak to that~ There was plenty of wood to burn at the fire pit out back. My only real downside was the single bathroom, but it never personally affected our group. Also we ended up killing quite a few ants, but again we weren't bothered by that personally. The owner was very quick and helpful with any questions I had about our stay. I would recommend this to families or close groups of friends.
beautiful spot with fishing just a few steps from the door.... great place for a group to stay only downfall is one bathroom.... lots of room to spread out. Everything that could have been needed was available... road a little rough going to home but worth it once you get there... would recommend this to anyone visiting the Ballston Lake area . Much more comfortable than a hotel... and swimming fishing boating campfire grilling all available right outside house..
We had a great time at the camp! Everything was as described and clean, and everyone found their bed comfortable. We lucked out for a spring weekend, and got a hot, clear day with a nice breeze. My teenagers actually put down their phones and spent the day outside fishing. We were in town for a family wedding, and the spacious accommodations worked out great for some added guests Saturday night. Watching my grown nieces and nephews playing cards in the comfortable living room was one of the highlights of the trip for me. Would gladly stay here again!
Short drive from Saratoga Performing Arts Center (summer home of the NYC ballet and many concerts), The Saratoga County Fairgrounds (which hosts the county fair, a craft and hot air balloon festival, Irish Fest 2000 among other events), The Saratoga Race Course, The Saratoga Harness Track & Racino, downtown Saratoga shopping, Antiquing in downtown Ballston Spa, Albany-Saratoga Speedway, and hundreds of restaurants to try!
