My husband and I split our time between our home in Dallas, TX and Bass Lake. We were both born in the midwest with summer ties to Northern Michigan. We have six grown children and 6 precious grandchildren!
Molly Menegay purchased this cabin in 2014
We fell in love with this home while visiting family Up North in 2014. It is a quaint cottage with tons of character. It sits on a small lake boasting beautiful views. Nature abounds with great fishing, varied bird watching and singing frogs!!! You'll love this serene setting. There is a fire pit and patio by the lake. You will also enjoy our deck across the back of the house with a dining table and comfy furniture.
Amazing owners, place, and had a wonderful time! Thanks for everything Molly!
My wife and I were interested in finding a nicely appointed lake cabin. Our search directed us to this property nestled in the pines on Bass Lake . Interlochen is a stones throw away from Traverse City which offers fine dining, wineries, entertainment etc... Molly was quick and receptive answering any questions prior to booking. Responses generally occurred within 30 minutes. We were very impressed with the description and photos of the property and Molly's receptiveness sealed the deal and made the decision easy.
The rates for the property made this rental a very good deal. Bass Lake is a secluded beautiful inland lake that is easy to get to. As we approached the property, we appreciated the openness and wooded buffers between homes. The home itself is a well maintained log cabin that combines the ruggedness of a log cabin, with all the modern amenities and conveniences one would want in a lakefront home. The home itself is very open with floor to ceiling windows facing the lake. The lake is literally steps from the back deck. There is also a small sand beach, a dock (removed already because "winter is coming"), a boat available for use and all being perfectly secluded on all sides of the property. All the rooms are configured to optimize light and sunshine. The kitchen is sizable and well appointed with an adjacent dining area that looks directly out on the lake. There is a beautiful sun room with sofa and chairs for basking in the sunshine and a sizable deck to relax outside. The main living room is very comfortable with floor to ceiling windows providing a gorgeous view of the tree lined lake. The Master bedroom has a king sized bed with a great mattress to make sleeping a dream. Master bedroom also has a huge walk in closet to accommodate even the most heavily packing travelers. A full bath (not huge but adequate) is directly adjacent to the Master bedroom with shower/tub/sink etc... There is a very original wooden staircase that leads to the upstairs and oh wow is the upstairs special! There is a loft section with windows and magnificent views of the lake with a trumble bed right up against the windows (perfect for reading a book while taking in the sunshine and view of the lake ( or a well deserved nap). A leather sofa, chairs and entertainment center make it an all purpose area to be enjoyed. A 2nd full bath is also upstairs with a 2ndr bedroom. The cabin is wonderfully appointed with everything a traveler needs. Will book again!
My family stayed in this beautifully decorated, comfortable and homey cabin when visiting my nephew at Interlochen Academy. It was the perfect stay and we hope to go back often when visiting my nephew. It has absolutely everything you could ask for and is extremely well appointed. The owners provide every last detail that you need. We LOVED it! Thank you Molly and Mike for sharing this incredible gem! We hope to be back soon!
Second time here, hopefully more to come! Everything just perfect as can be. All necessary luxuries inside and just step outside the door to be immersed in the northern Michigan autumn wonder. Perfect place to unwind and recharge. We're still amazed at the attention to every single detail. Much appreciated and highly recommended!
This place is amazing. Very comfortable with lot's of different areas to gather. We used every room in the house as well as the dock, fire pit area, front porch and back porch. Used the kayaks on the lake too. Not sure why they don't show a picture of the master bedroom because it's roomy and great too. We will definitely stay again should we return to the area.
My sister and brother-in-law and my husband and I have rented homes all over Michigan, and this was absolutely one of the best. The home is in great condition, the decorating, the flowers and outside landscaping and fire pit, the location are incredible. We had such a good time getting to know the area - great restaurants nearby. Took day trips all around the area, visited wineries for tastings, shopped in some great shops, enjoyed the beaches and the hiking. Ran out of time before we ran out of things we wanted to do. What a great week we had. Thank you, Molly and Mike, for making your beautiful home available. We would certainly recommend your property.
