A true getaway, Scarlet Rose River House sits on more than 5 beautifully landscaped acres. Naturally it has its own heated pool--what getaway doesn’t?--but it also has a private pond, stocked with fish and even outfitted with a fishing dock!
The house is in the city of St. Augustine Beach and just minutes by car from World Golf Village, beaches, shops, and restaurants. As soon as you drive up to the secluded property, though, you’ll forget just how close to urban life you are. Lush with greenery, the grounds offer plenty of shady spots for stretching out with a good book as well as flat, open areas begging to be the site of a picnic—or perhaps a bigger festivity, such as a family reunion or even a wedding. Yes, Scarlet Rose River House can easily accommodate the most special of events.
Among the property’s 5.3 acres is a stocked pond with a small fishing dock. A great spot for photo ops, it’s also a wonderful way to introduce someone to the joys of reeling in a catch.
After spending time fishing, playing Ultimate Frisbee on the lawns, or simply meandering among the trees, you can refresh yourself in the house’s swimming pool. It’s enclosed in a lanai with transparent ceilings, making it ideal for a midnight swim—there’s nothing more peaceful than floating on your back as you gaze up at the stars. And because the pool is heated, you can enjoy it year-round, even when you have a crackling fire going in the house’s fireplace to ward off the evening chill.
There’s plenty of room in the lanai to linger after your swim--or to keep an eye on the kids while they’re splashing about. And when you want to entertain, you’ll love the gorgeous outdoor deck. Not only is it large, but it’s surrounded and embellished by trees, shrubs, and bushes, ideal for hosting an unforgettable event. There’s a barbecue as well, for a true alfresco cooking and dining experience.
All this, and we haven’t even talked about the house itself! With 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and 2 partial baths, Scarlet Rose River House can easily sleep up to 8 people. When you arrive the beds will be freshly made, so that you can stretch out for a nap the moment you arrive. Fresh towels will be waiting too--keep yours at home, where they belong.
In fact, you can pack especially light, as Scarlet Rose River House has its own washer and dryer. This could well be the first time you return from a trip with a suitcase full of clean clothes!
The kitchen comes with all the appliances, cookware, utensils, and tableware you need, whether you’re hosting a Thanksgiving feast or simply reheating the previous night’s restaurant leftovers. With its HDTV, the living room is great for hosting movie night. And because Scarlet Rose River House has free wireless web access, you can surf the web from any room.
The main house’s garage has been converted to a game room, complete with wet bar, but there’s still loads of parking. In addition to the carport, there’s a second, detached garage, At 1,000 square feet it’s large enough for several RVs and has its own pumping area.
There’s also one more building, which you can use as an office or even a mother-in-law apartment.
When you want an escape from the crowds, the hubbub, and the frantic pace of the daily grind, Scarlet Rose River House is your dream destination. But it’s a dream you can make a reality: All you have to do is book your reservation today!

We booked this property because the description listed a 'year round heated pool' and a grill. Had hopes of barbecuing outside while the kids swam. The pool wasn't heated due to an electrical issue and there was no grill. We called the property manager multiple times without response. Finally, when we got a response the property manager said since our stay was so short (1 week) there was nothing they could do to fix it, which was extra frustrating due to the 3 days they went without responding. Did not offer any reimbursement or make any attempt to fix. In addition, the place was dirty. The basement, which is absent the described wet bar (not a big deal, but the entire description just doesn't match the home) smelled mildewy. There was mouse droppings on the exposed top of walls (which is right next to the stairs when you walk upstairs. Very dated, dirty, and not close to anything. Super disappointment.
The property looks nice, but overall was not a good fit for our family. It is just a bit too far from what we really wanted to see in St Augustine. We were looking forward to using the heated pool but never got the heater working. The property also uses well water which is fine but I guess the pressure was just not adjusted for multiple people to use it at the same time. Overall, this property is pretty and could suit a large group of people comfortably if they could fix the little hiccups.
When we arrived at the house the pool was dirty and not heated. Called the rental co. and they said they would send a pool guy out. Guess they have no pool guy cause the neighbor, yes the neighbor was called to come over and help out. The two of us cleaned and started the pool pump and heat.Don't take showers at the same time, water pressure sucks and the tub takes forever to drain. The beds are hard but at least the sheets where clean as was the house. It's not on the beach, don't know where they got that. and we did catch some fish so that was fun.
Had a wonderful time at the beach with my family. The beach house was the best. It was prefect for us.
The house was well kept and nice. We had a toddler and it was very difficult to keep him in a safe area. There is no room to add a baby gate either. The walk to the beach was easy and the beach was fantastic!
