About Chuck & Marilyn Anderson

Chuck & Marilyn are from opposite sides of the country. Marilyn is a New York girl, and Chuck is a California kind of guy. We lived in Orange County, CA for 38 years and moved to 'The Valley' 8 years ago. The day we moved in it was 117 degrees F. We figured that we'd get used to it and things would change - things changed - we discovered Show Low. We just loved it and decided to acquire a spot to cool off. We wanted a place for our family and friends to visit, but they have limited time, too. So, we figured that we could share with others, as well.

Chuck & Marilyn Anderson purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Chuck & Marilyn Anderson chose Arizona

We purchased the property after staying in the area and we loved it. The views are spectacular. The drive up here is just gorgeous and gets better with every mile. The seasonal change is terrific and last Winter trip we saw a herd of Elk ( there were at least 30 of them). We are isolated enough to relax and achieve peace and quiet, yet close enough to town to shop and pick up practically anything that is needed. This property is an answer to our prayers, as we enjoy a very active life

What makes this cabin unique

We chose this property for it's coziness and warmth, as well as the beauty of the area. We wanted a place to relax. This property has it all - you can relax or do outdoor activities. The cabin is cozy, we needed something that was easy to take care of. The gated, fenced back yard is sizable, and has mature pines that whisper in the wind. We are close to restaurants in town in the event that we don't want to cook some evening. We have a full time caretaker who oversees our property on a daily basis. He is available with a cell phone call.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Bearhaven. The cabin was very nice and had all the amenities you could want. We really enjoyed the back deck, although not much privacy, it gave my husband the opportunity to chat with neighbors, he's a social butterfly 😉 The decor was very cute, loved the bear theme. The only recommendation we would have is to have at least one king size bed. My husband is a larger man and the bed was not big enough. We ended sleeping in different rooms which was uncomfortable in itself. A throw for the living room couch would have been nice too. Bottom line, we loved our stay and would definitely recommend this place to others. Mr. Dobbs was great too 👍

The best well kept, CLEAN, organized and peaceful rental property! We actually wanted to spend time in the cabin rather than out and about! KM

perfect place for a weekend, a week, or a month- long stay.!

  • 5 of 5

the cabin location is well situated, within easy driving distance to grocery shopping, restaurants, hiking trails. the cabin is very comfortable, nicely decorated, well supplied kitchen, washer/dryer, which is wonderful if you are staying a month, as we did. The owners have put much thought into details making a stay there as carefree as possible. In the kitchen, there is one of the best pots for popping popcorn ! The Cooling unit is perfect, very nice TV with all kinds of channels, a back deck with a good-size grill. What more could one

need? ...just a desire to sit back and watch those fluffy clouds roll on by, and listen to the rain on the tin roof! My husband and I spent 3 weeks here last summer and 4 weeks this summer. "The Good Lord willin, and the creek don't rise" we will return next summer.

All these good reviews can't be wrong!

  • 5 of 5

So you can expect a well-organized and very clean house. All the switches are labeled so you aren't hunting around trying to figure out how to turn on a particular light or wondering what these three switches are for. The beds are comfortable. Clean and comfortable, that covers about 90% of my needs.

Chuck is very concerned that your stay is enjoyable: he checks-in before, during and after your visit to make sure you can find what you need and everything is in order. He is very accessible and responsive to your communications.

You can rent this property without fear of disappointment - just read a random assortment of reviews and they all say the same.

Negatives? None - just read the property description and understand this isn't a big place. Two bedrooms sharing one bath, a compact (and well appointed) kitchen, and comfortable living/dining area. If you were going to spend the day with a house-full, that deck would really expand the living space.

A really nice rental at a reasonable rate, you will have to look long and hard to find a better combination.

We had a beary wonderful time!!!

  • 5 of 5

I'm ready to move in !! So clean and comfortable. Spoiled me now it's the only place I want to stay when in area. Something that would make it easier is a showerhead on a hose. It's easier for the handicapped and to clean the shower. Thanks for caring.

Owner's Response: Ron, Thanks for the great review. You've been inside my head again! We were planning on changing that showerhead and the style you suggested is the idea winner!! Look for that next time around. See Ya Again, Chuck & Marilyn

LOVED ITllll

  • 5 of 5

I have rented several places on VRBO.

Bear Haven was by far the cleanest I've seen.

Very well appointed:

The attention to detail was incredible .

The cabin was decorated so nicely.

Furnishings were great.

Beds were very comfortable

My husband loved the TV & the grill.

Nice back porch with fenced in yard.

Kitchen was fully furnished I even loved the pretty dishes.

The owner's thought of everything.

They called to make sure everything was ok even the cabin temperature was ok for us.

I enjoyed the beautiful neighborhood.

We will be back soon.

Thanks

Paula & Greg.

Owner's Response: Dear Paula & Greg, We are so pleased that you simply loved Bear Haven Cabin. You know the we discuss everything to make sure that it fits in with the motif; fulfills a purpose; and makes our visitors smile. It was so nice to call and discuss the "how to" of the thermostat - you really got it! Do you know that my wife and I first rented a cabin - just up the hill a bit. We absolutely fell so in love with the surroundings and friends, that we had to have a cabin. Bear Haven became available and we snatched it up! Now we are loving the sharing of it with folks like you. No sense hiding a pearl like that under a bushel basket, says my wife. Hope to see you soon !! Very Truly Yours, Charles & Marilyn Bear Haven Cabin, Show Low, AZ.
