Not bad!

It might not be a luxurious apartment, but the location and comfort definitely compensate. Very fun, and friendly owner.

Enjoyed my stat

  • 5 of 5

I came for an internship in New York with a classmate, and this apartment was exactly what we were looking for.

It is in a residential area with all the locals, it's safe, it's fully equipped with everything you want in an apartment, it's close to the subway, it's safe, and it's price is unbeatable!

Seriously, you cannot find this kind of listing, and I spent months looking (someone offered me a couch in his living room for $2000 a month!).

It is not a luxury apartment, but the apartment is very nice and comfortable, and in New York's standards it's pretty spacious as well. I read reviews complaining the sink is small, but it's not exceptional in this city at all.

The apartment is next to 2nd avenue, and it is FULL of bars and restaurants. After few weeks we realized we are better meeting locals and networking in this area than going downtown where only tourists hang out.

I absolutely recommend this apartment!

Depending what you are looking for, it's ok

  • 2 of 5

We stayed her for four nights during a vacation to NYC. Depending on what you are looking for in a vacation rental this can be a great find or a letdown.

The Pro's:

The pricing on this rental was fantastic and the location is excellent if you are looking to visit the museums which you can walk to. It also has a close-by subway terminal which makes getting anywhere very easy. If you fly into LaGuardia it's a quick cab ride over to the rental. The actual bed's were very comfortable (although the sleeper sofa is terrible).

The Con's:

The apartment itself was somewhat of a letdown to us though. The building is very secure but the bedroom window which opens to the shared fire escape was not in it's tracks and so anyone who was on the fire escape could push the window out of the frame and gain access to the apartment. The "fix" to this when reported was to duct tape the window to the window frame. Also the bathroom pictured on the listing is not the bathroom that is in the rental? We did not have a full size bath/shower as pictured and did not have a full-size sink as pictured. The actual shower and sink in the apartment were VERY small, like micro-small. Finally, the night we checked in the front door handle fell off the door. They did send someone to tighten down the door handle but even after the repair we found it very difficult to get the door unlocked every day when we returned to the apt.

So if you are looking for a great location at a very cheap price and won't be spending much of any time in the apt then this could certainly be the place for you. But if you will be spending some time in the apt or are used to having nice vrbo rentals you may want to pay a bit more and get another place.

Great location and price!

I came to New York to visit family, and wanted to stay in a residential area. The apartment was very nice, decorated very well, and came with everything you need for daily life.

The area is very safe and residential, so whatever you need when you stay for long periods is literally near by. Highly recommended!

Ronda.

Great Experience!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in the apartment for 3 months with 3 of my friends. When we arrived it was perfectly clean and it all went without any problems. Good thing about the apartment was, that everything you need for a long term stay is available, for e.g. cleaning equipment, silverware, dishes, towels, .....

Overall I would always recommend to apartment to my friends! Hope you have a nice stay in NYC :)
