We loved where the studio was located as it was convenient to the metro, restaurants, groceries, patisseries, cafes, etc. The neighborhood was lovely, and the apartment came equipped with everything we needed except for a working stovetop/oven. This was a BIG disappointment, and a cause of us having to spend a lot of extra money. Our whole reason for getting an apartment was to be able to save a little money by having a lot of our meals in - looking out over the rooftops of Paris. We assumed that everything was in working order, so our first night we went out and bought our groceries for the week. Night #1 nothing worked. We asked one of Johno's neighbors to help us thinking that since we were American, we were dealing w/ an unknown appliance and maybe needed a few pointers. She was wonderful and spent about 10 min. on top of the 20 that we had put in trying to get it to work. No luck. We ended up going to a restaurant. Night #2, we asked the landlady if she could help us. No luck again. She is very nice but speaks very little English. Our French isn't the best either so it was an interesting game of charades. She said she would put a call in to Johno. No response. the next day, we again had all our meals out. The scenerio just repeated itself for the rest of the week with various other people trying to help us to get the stove working. Ergo, we spent about $250 American on food that we ended up giving away to the landlady when we left, because we were unable to cook it. Long story short... We ended up spending more money than if we had gotten a hotel room. Not only did we have to eat every meal out, we also lost out on the food that we bought. At least in a hotel, we would probably have gotten a free continental breakfast. If it hadn't been for that, we would have given this an "excellent" rating. The area is very safe, you have a partial view of the Eiffel Tower, it is quiet, the people are wonderful and we would love to go back again. Next time though... a working stove. :)
Perfectly located and equipped studio close to the Seine river and Eiffel tower in a very nice building.
Great view on Paris roofs from the sunny balcony on the 9th floor.
Metro and bus station around the corner, as well as Beaugrenelle shopping mall, grocery stores and restaurants.
Owner very friendly and helpful, this is much better than a hotel, like your home in Paris.
My stay in Paris was even more pleasant because of Johno`s studio! Great location, nice quiet building, and an "at home" atmosphere that does not make you feel like you are far away from home! Loved reading on the comfy armchair, loved the idea of the pull down bed, loved having my morning croissant on the intimate balcony while admiring the building`s roof garden, loved the whole place! In my opinion this studio is ideal for both short and long stays, since you have here everything you need: a well equipped kitchen, fridge, coffee machine, etc etc. Not to mention the delicious things you can buy at the bakery across the street! I had spent a lovely time here, thank you Johno for your kind hospitality! Next time I am in Paris, I already know where to stay!
This was absolutely one of our favorite vacations and being able to rent the studio made this possible. The apartment was much larger than we envisioned and had all the amenities of home. The location allowed us to get around the city with ease utilizing the metro or bus line or simply walking. We had the pleasure of meeting Johno, the owner, during our stay. He was a great resource for getting around the city. We hope to make this one of our regular vacation spots!
Johno the owner was always great to work with as was his property mgr Marie. I unexpectedly spent some time in the hospital in Barcelona in January and February delaying our reservation arrival date. Johno was absolutely great sliding the reservation dates and allowing us to comfortably enjoy our two months at his apartment in Paris. The apartment is very warm in the winter and very comfortable for long term stays. The pull down bed was comfortable and not a problem for a couple in their late 60s. Apt in a good building with 2 elevators, with good friendly neighbors, and a nice neighborhood. Three good supermarkets, a mall, and lots of restaurants. Eiffel Tower 7 blocks by foot. Metro station Charles Michel on the corner giving you easy access to all of Paris. And the bus stop for the 42 bus almost at the front door which will take you all of the way to Gare Du Nord with stops at many of the main tourist spots on the way. We really enjoyed our stay at Johno's apt and highly recommend it to everyone. Johno is a gentleman that you can trust to deal with you fairly and honestly. Many thanks Johno! Dan & Gale
Everything about our stay in this studio was perfect: communication with the owner is easy via email and phone (we had the pleasure of meeting him during our stay...). The on-site manager, Maria, is a delight...she made us feel instantly at-home upon arrival. The studio was immaculately clean and thoughtfully laid-out to take full advantage of every bit of space. Everything functioned perfectly (kitchen appliances, internet, TV, the washer/dryer that let us cut our packing in half!!). The residential neighborhood sparkles with activity all day; there's a restaurant row just outside that should satisfy the most adventurous food mavens. After dinner, a one-block walk will bring you to the banks of the Seine. The 42 bus just outside takes you on a beautiful sight-filled ride downtown and to other bus lines (why miss that by riding the Metro?). At the end of the day, the elevator takes you back to a balcony that faces on a beautifully landscaped courtyard surrounded by similar residential buildings. You're in another world! The dome of Les Invalides gleams at night and the Eiffel Tower is just around the corner! Forget the alarm clock: leave the balcony door drapes open and you'll awaken to sunrise over the rooftops of Paris! We recommend this studio enthusiastically! Thank you for your hospitality!!
Perfect little home away from home to visit Paris or working/visiting conventions at Porte de Versailles.
