Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Loenen aan de Vecht - Period House in old village

2 bedroom house in historical centre of Loenen aan de Vecht close to Amsterdam.

The house is located in the historical center of Loenen aan de Vecht near the villages of Nieuwersluis, Breukelen, Vreeland, Loenersloot, Baambrugge, Vinkeveen and Loosdrecht. A little further you will find the large village Hilversum and the cities Amsterdam and Utrecht.

Shops, cafés and restaurants are within walking distance, literally around the corner. Golf lovers can enjoy the new Golf Course located just outside the village center.

The ground floor sitting room has an open plan kitchen and a backdoor leading to a small patio outside. Most furniture is antique in style with the rest of the house. The kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, microwave, large fridge and a gas fire cooker.

There is an HD TV set and ofcourse WIFI internet access. There is a toilet in the hall right where you enter the house.

The master bedroom on the first floor offers a full size comfortable bed with a high quality mattress. The bathroom is situated right next to the master bedroom.

On the second floor you will find a second bedroom which shows the old character of the house even more thanks to the construction where many beams are used. The room has a king size bed with again a very good mattress.

The house has central heating creating a warm house even under the coldest circumstances.

Loenen is known for its wide variety of restaurants like 'Tante Koosje' or 'Het Amsterdammertje' of which the latter has a Michelin star. The greater area is known for the river Vecht and its stately 17th century homes along the river. The village is centrally located (15 minute drive) between the cities of Amsterdam and Utrecht . The nearby village of Loosdrecht is well known for watersports on the lake and the media village Hilversum is also only a 15 minute drive away. The bakery is just around the corner, where you can get croissants and rolls for your breakfast (except on Sundays).

Plenty of things to do around the village though. Free parking is available in a parking lot also just around the corner. Public transportation (bus) is within walking distance. One can take a bus to the Breukelen (Brooklyn NY was named after this town) and hop on a train.

The house has approximately 140 m2 of living space.

The village of Loenen aan de Vecht is known for its beauty as it is situated along the river Vecht. During the 17th century rich merchants built their country houses along this river. They would own property along the canals in Amsterdam and for the weekends and holidays they would live in villages such as Loenen aan de Vecht, Nieuwersluis and Breukelen. Loenen is well known for its restaurants.

Not very satiying place to stay

  • 1 of 5

The house itself was very nice as well as the village. Marion had lots of information flyers for travelers to visit things in the area let us know where to rent bicycles etc.

However we were not very pleased about the state of the house, it was quite dusty, old empty bottles were still on the floor, the whole fridge was full with her food and Tupper's, her clothes were in the hallway and room. We were also not very satisfied with the service, the reactiveness was very low, the person who as supposed to receive us on arrival came one hour late and didn’t really show us anything in the house, the deposit was only paid back one week after we left the place after contacting several times. Overall we thought it’s an OK place to stay, but not for the price charged.

Owner's Response: Maike, You must have been thinking you were entering a B&B review show. In fact you have rented someone's private domain. The house you stayed at, is normally occupied by myself. If you were not prepared to put up with my clothing in the cupboard, partially filled refrigarator etc., you should have stayed at a Hotel, in which case you should have had much smaller living quarters at a comparatively higher price, considering the region, being so close to the city of Amsterdam. So, please count your blessings for the deal you made. By the way, I haven't empty bottles on the floor, but full bottles in an open cupboard. Best Regards, Doei ! Marion

bonne location dans un très bel environnement

  • 5 of 5

  • We believe that comfort is very important when you stay somewhere. The beds are the most important item here. We make sure that what we offer is at least what we expect to find when we travel. When the house is not rented out we live in it and therefore the quality is better than what you find in your average holiday home. We have many different types of pillows and duvé covers. Down for those who prefer this and synthetic for anyone who might have an allergy. Please let us know your preference in advance.
