Why Iakovos Dakoutros chose Santorini

This villa is one of my loved ones.

The reason is simple. Best location without steps to climb.Imerovigli village is one of the best places for vacation around the world and this property makes it even better. Imerovigli has views of the volcano, breathtaking sunsets and tranquility. There is a main square which leads up to the Caldera and the traditional hillside cave settlements. If you continue on the road to Oia, the lower plains of Imerovigli also have wonderful sunset east coast views.

The largest part of Imerovigli was destroyed in the 1956 volcano eruption. Some of the population perished, while others moved away to the mainland. Imerovigli has since then been restored and is home to some of the most beautiful hotels and traditional cave house settlements on the island.

What makes this villa unique

1. The best location in Santorini with unique view.

2. Outdoor jacuzzi plunge pool hot tub.

3. 24/7 assistance.

4.Custom services upon any kind of request.

Exceptional views, pampered service and good accommodation with services

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I just stayed at the villa. Jacob greeted us at the airport to guide us (we had a rental car which I recommend) to and introduce us to the villa: two lovely bedrooms with their own ensuite bathroom (though the second bathroom is small it is quite functional).as well as a sitting room (with a flat screen tv and an account to Netflix streaming!). The villa has a complete kitchen in which Christina makes miraculous breakfasts served on the patio at your convenience. She is charming and floats about like a magical fairy cooking and prepping the bedrooms/bathrooms each morning.

The patios from which to enjoy the views are plentiful: on the ground level and on the roof where there is a large jacuzzi. Breathtaking!!

Another plus is that the villa sits at the top of imervigli and thus one sDoes not have to contend with stairs to get to the villa - just a 50 meter walk on a paved path right to the front door! Of course. One should at some point follow the stairs down to explore the hotels and restaurants - skaros rock offers a nice hike and view up towards imervigli which I suggest for those who like stair Masters!

Lastly, again about Jacob. He is incredibly helpful in helping plan your stay as he knows the island so well. Trust him as you will be well advised. After seeing all the towns, I am delighted we chose imervigli as it is quite and off the beaten cruise tourist path and close to Firastefani where we also enjoyed good restaurants.

Thanks Jacob (Iakovos) and Christina !

Amazing Views and Best Service

  • 5 of 5

We stepped into the house after a long and not so good travel experience from Anerican and Britiish Airlines. But the movement we came here everything changed. The views are much more breath taking than the pictures. Our family was truly amazed with the views. The house was very unique and cute. Jacob took care of every detail of our stay. From arranging car service to setting up a photo shoot for us. Everything was perfect, Christina took good care of us during our stay. She came every morning and prepared elaborate breakfast for us. She also cleaned and made sure everything was perfect. She also prepared delicious Greek dinner for us. Greek people in general are so friendly and hospitable. Don't think we had even a single bad service the time we stayed in Santorini. Everything was perfect, I wish we stayed longer. I usually don't write reviews but this place truly touched me that I had to write one.

Beautiful Villa in a Stunning Location

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time in Santorini, made complete with our stay at Malteza Villa. Jacob met us in town as soon as we arrived, took us to the villa and spent lots of time with us explaining the lay of the land, making recommendations and generally just making us feel at home. The views from the villa are spectacular and afternoons were spent relaxing in the pool, enjoying the views and abundant sunshine. The breakfast provided next-door was a nice added touch, and started each day off with pure relaxation as again we were completely taken care of as breakfast was included in the price of our stay. The house is fully serviced, so each morning when we arrived back from breakfast, clean towels were provided and the house was nice and clean. Jacob also assisted in making reservations and just ensuring we felt completely taken care of during our visit. I cannot recommend Malteza Villa enough and if you choose to stay here, there is no way you'll be disappointed.

Good property at a very good location

  • 4 of 5

We rented the beautiful villa for 3 nights in May 2015. We loved the location and everything looked just as promised. We were happy with the services provided. However the hot tub was a big let down. It was not ready the first day we arrived, it did not heat up the second day as promised and we had to call Jacob to get it fixed once again on the third day and we ended up wasting a lot of time.

I would recommend the villa, however please ensure your Jacuzzi is working.. it was a big let down in an otherwise perfect rental.

Magnificent!

  • 5 of 5

This place was so amazing, and Iakovos was the best host! We would definitely come back and stay in this same fabulous villa. We had the best sunset view every night from our multiple balconies, and it was so close to great restaurants. Iakovos spent lots of time helping us with reservations, activities, restaurants, etc. We didn't have to spend time researching and calling - he took care of it all for us! There were 2 couples in our group, and we all had plenty of privacy and space. Would highly recommend this villa!

You can find Imerovigli by taking the road going towards Oia. It is the next village after Fira & Firostefani on the famous Santorini caldera.

The name of this village belongs to the days of the pirates :

vigla (Latin = vigilare = To Guard or to Act as a Look Out, imera (Greek) = day. Imerovigli has been declared a Traditional Settlement, and special rules and regulations have been enforced regarding building development.

Its position at the highest, most central part of the caldera gave it visual command of the whole area. It also derived importance from its proximity to Skaros Fortress. The Church of the Panagia Malteza has a marvellous carved wooden screen with icons depicting scenes from the Old Testament. There is a path from Imerovigli caldera walkway to Skaros Rock and the Chapel of Panagia Theoskepasti.Imerovigli has views of the volcano, breathtaking sunsets and tranquility.

Skaros was one of the five fortified settlements and the most important one. At that time it was referred to simply as ‘Kastro’ (castle in Greek).

The rock was inhabited in medieval times, because the fortress built there offered protection from pirates.

Skaros was the capital of Santorini until the 18th century, although evacuation of Skaros started at the beginning of the 17th century. The promontory at Skaros has been shaken repeatedly by strong earthquakes, particularly the one of 1650.

Distances Fira town : 3 kilometers

History Skaros Rock - one of the 5 fortified castles of Santorini

Services Small supermarkets, traditional restaurants & taverns

Buses There is a bus stop in the main square which connects south to Fira and Firostefani, and north to Oia.
