About this property

Getaway in the Gunnison Valley @ 10 X Ranch Home, Ski CB &/or Monarch!

After being on hiatus from the rental market for a few years…this beautiful home is available again! Come back to RELAX in our end-of-the road paradise! Listen to the rushing waters of the Gunnison River as you sit on the wraparound porch and watch the horses in the private meadows at 10X Ranch. 10 X Ranch is a working ranch, so people live in the garage apartment to tend to the horses, dogs and cats that live on the ranch. 500 feet of river frontage watching the gold medal waters is just down the bank and exploring the 36-acre ranch is on the “to do” list but you are here to RELAX! You slowly rock on the handmade porch swing and plan this evening’s bath in the “cowgirl bathtub” tucked away in a private corner next to the day bed, and you decide that tomorrow morning’s adventure will be the short but challenging hike to “forgiveness rock”. Your happy dog eagerly awaits your next move! Come for the hikes, the horse watching, the fishing, the birding and the exploring but know that you will be undisturbed by “civilization” at our exclusive end-of-the (BUMPY) road getaway. This home is on a “working ranch”, where the work is easy, the horses are friendly, and the owners are laid back. The home’s lovely, recently renovated, country kitchen opens onto the spacious living room and the dining area so you can enjoy your family as you prepare meals and picnics for the table on the back deck or for around the fire ring on the back patio or by the fire pit down by the river! As you wander around the house you take in the rustic-chic furnishings and the sense of comfort and attention to detail given to your “best vacation experience ever” in every room. Your master bedroom with a King bed overlooks the river from its own private covered porch and has a large master bath with a jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower. You are amazed at the space available to spread out! Bedroom one upstairs has a King and the second a comfy Queen. These two rooms share a well-appointed hallway bathroom with a combined shower/tub. The private den downstairs has a double sleeper sofa and the lovely “guest” half bath, just inside the large formal entryway, is nearby. Even in a large group, there are so many private places to get away all by yourself! You notice the Native American artifacts in the entryway and are reminded that you are on an ancient Native American camp sight. Bonus: you can plan a private session with Nancy, who has a Spiritual Psychology practice and can plan a private horseback retreat, a soul-centering hike, or a family group experience with the horses. Just ask! (These options can be booked separately and are available when the owners are here.) The possibilities are endless. You wander back to the porch and want to take that hike, but you start the water running into the Cowgirl Bathtub and snuggle into the lovely daybed as you take in the beautiful “dragon hills” that surround your own private paradise!

Home away from home!
We had a 9 day length of stay so it was wonderful to have all the comforts of home. We especially enjoyed the kitchen and fire pit. It was also great to be secluded at the end of the road and Bentley to greet you! It’s a place we will never forget ❤️

Peaceful Getaway
I enjoyed my time at the ranch and valued the great communication from the owner. Everything was as a expected and the house was cozy and clean. The horses just outside the bedroom window was an added bonus!

Perfect house for a family retreat!
Three seniors, one young couple and a 10-month-old infant had more than enough room to spread out, relax, decompress, pet horses, dogs and cats, feed chickens, hike, converse with lovely Nancy, and generally soak in the rural Colorado ambiance of Eagle River Ranch. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

I am Nancy Gex Jones, mother of two great daughters who live in Crested Butte. I'm also a grandmother of three! I love the back country and have wonderful access here at 10 X Ranch. My passion is horses and animals in general. I have a masters degree in Spiritual Psychology and studied Body centered Psychotherapy as well. I use my animals in my work as a psychotherapist. I have three horses, two dogs, 7 chickens and hundreds of friends!

Why they chose this property

My first visit to this area was in the early 60's with my mother and father. I find the Gunnison Valley breathtaking every day. My 'hideaway' was chosen because of it's end of the road location, on the Gunnison river, 10 minutes from Gunnison and 20 minutes from Crested Butte. People who love to fish think I am in heaven! I love to ride horses and I can ride hundreds of miles on public lands out my back gate!. When you are here you feel removed from the everyday world. Because we border the national forest we are the 'buffer' for the animals that live there. The land here feels sacred and simply magnificent.

What makes this property unique

10 X Ranch is a large home at the end of a bumpy road. No-one just 'stops by'. There is a nice fishing-camp resort as you turn off of highway 135 (Lost Canyon Resort) that can accommodate more family or friends if you need additional room. We have two restaurants within two miles of us that are open in the summers, one that is open in the winter. You can launch a raft on the bank below our house or arrange to be picked up for a private raft adventure. We are a working 'gentlemans' ranch with horses and chickens but little else going on to disturb the peace and quiet here. I live onsite, above the garage, and am available to help in any way, my aim is for my guests to have the BEST VACATION EVER!
