THANK YOU... THANK YOU!
I have been trying to figure out how to review your property; and have had a hard time finding time. But I have been very remiss to not let you know personally-- how much we appreciated everything! Especially the kindness, communication, and everything you do to make renting from you absolutely amazing! We had such a wonderful time we wished I had received your message sooner. We all hated to leave! We look forward to coming back; and seeing all the other things we didn't see. It is fun when even the teenagers are so content to just hang out.
My children also LOVED your neighborhood golden retriever that would come to visit. He welcomed us almost every time, and they loved him!
I'm sorry it has taken so long to drop you a message to let you know how much we loved the house, and appreciated everything!
This cabin was perfect for our needs-a place to spend time with friends too seldom seen to visit, watch favorite movies, play board & card games and eat favorite foods. This cabin is cozy, beautifully furnished, and decorated-you can't help but feel at home. Every convenience is available, with top of the line dishes, cookware, appliances and utensils. The owners are readily available by email or phone to answer any question or concern. The property is stunning, with mesmerizing views of Lake Cumberland in the backyard, from the many decks and balconies. The master suite is a masterpiece with its own sun room, jaccuzzi tub and deck. This cabin has everything anyone could want in a vacation getaway-the pictures do not do it justice. The privacy and peace and quiet are amazing-with the convenience of Somerset nearby to furnish needed supplies, a variety of restaurants (Texas Road House is excellent), and a variety of places to shop. None of us knew how to play Pool when we arrived, but that Pool Table became a highlight to our visit. We made many precious memories here. Thank you very much for sharing your spectacular home with us. We plan to return!
This cabin was much larger than what the photos made it out to be, which was awesome.
Plenty of seating every area that a group could move around to. There were 3 couples in our party and each person had their own spot wherever we sat (back deck, lower deck area, dinner table, living room, pool table area).
Cabin was fully equipped. TV, DVD's, video game console (for kids, although we didn't use it), pool table, newer appliances, bathrooms were nice and clean.
What we liked the most was the private dock and the grill. Private dock is a hike to get down to, but nonetheless it fits perfectly for where it is located, backwoods KY. Dock is well maintained, steps going down to the dock are extremely nice and well designed, which is nice for people of all ages who want to make the journey down to the water. The other thing we liked was the grill. It was easy to use, was of good quality, and was large enough to cook multiple foods on.
It seems like you are so far out from town, but the reality of it is that you are only 15 minutes from main strip town needs. So any needs, food, restaurant, vacation item forgets, all are within easy reach to go obtain. Plenty of restaurants for everyones preferences, local food, and nationwide chains.
I cannot wait to come back. I'm already looking for another booking date for next year! I hope everyone else enjoy's this cabin as much as our party did!
Fantastic cabin with a great open floor plan on main level. Great view of the lake and a private dock for two boats. We had a blast and will be back.
Had a great experience overall. Cabin was accurately described. We look forward to booking again in the future. Thanks Jonathan
Private dock! Private dock! Private dock!
One of the few houses at Lake Cumberland that has a private dock at the vacation house. It's also on a quieter part of the lake with marinas within a few minutes. New stairs/steps make access to the dock an easy decent.
The house is very accommodating to our needs on vacation. It's open floor plan on the main floor let's all guests be a part of what's going on whether it be enjoying the view from the deck to lounging in the comfortable living room area to sitting at the bar at the open kitchen. The furnishings and appointments are first class and the house offers quiet solitude while within a short drive to dining and shopping.
The upstairs bedrooms offer a retreat for most of the guests to spend the night while the master suit/hot tub downstairs is a perfect peaceful escape.
The layout works and we really enjoy the look and feel of staying here.

Our family greatly enjoyed our vacation 8/11 - 8/14/16 in Burnside. The pictures didn't do justice to the great view of Cumberland River, and the house was very roomy and comfortable. Very well stocked with all the needed cooking items, the master bedroom was roomy and bed was very comfortable. The porch off of the master was a nice escape. The upper deck is very roomy with great views, very private, with lots of chairs. We enjoyed quite a few games of pool on the regulation size pool table.
The only complaints I heard from our group was the lack of water pressure in the upstairs shower when someone was showering in the lower level master bath or turned on water/flushed toilet. The walk down to the dock area is steep, but the water access, view and dock was worth the trek. The dock was a lot larger than expected; we easily fit multiple chairs, floats, etc for six people. The water was great for swimming and floating (we didn't have a boat). The boat traffic did pick up quite a bit on Saturday; it made for great people watching, but the dock did rock quite a bit from the wakes, and we had to be more careful with floats in the water.
For golfers, we highly recommend General Burnside State Park golf course, only 10 minutes away. The course was in very good condition; Golf Now had a deal to save almost $10 per golfer off of published rates. We also went hiking at Cumberland Falls, about 35 minute drive. They have a lot of trails of different lengths; we took the Eagle Falls trail, which was fairly rugged (lots of climbs and descents) but worth the views of the two waterfalls. Several hikers were swimming at Eagle Falls, including a couple of daring souls who leapt from the ledge into the fairly small pool.
For those with GPS units; follow the owner’s directions, as some GPS units will direct you to another part of the point, over a mile away.
Guthrie's steakhouse in Burnside was good for lunch. The new Kroger just opened in Somerset, very nice.
Jonathan, the owner, was prompt on responding to any questions we had, and was very quick on returning the security deposit.
We would recommend this highly for anyone looking for a nice home on the river, with lots of room and privacy. Great vacation spot.
Other Activities: Boat and jet ski rentals available at nearby Burnside Marina which is 10 minutes away (by boat or car).
