Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday castle in Siena

In the magical, medieval Castello delle Quattro Torra, set like a jewel in the beautiful unspoilt countryside just outside the historical town of Siena, guests may choose to book the Tower Room,a smal,l charmingly designed suite -bedroom, private bathroom and sitting-room area- situated, as the name suggests, in one of the castle's four towers. Every window here offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding countryside.

Rental includes linen, water, electricity, gas, heating etc.

Free wi-fi and free parking also included.

Breakfast is served in the elegant breakfast room in the main part of the castle, just off an impressive drawing room with comfortable sofas and a beautiful fireplace. Guests are welcome to linger here too or in the adjacent Reading Room and to enjoy the magnificent views of a countryside from the windows.

The castle is surrounded by an Italian garden cultivated with myrtle, roses and peonies, which is visible from all the castle's windows. An ample outdoor garden area furnished with umbrellas, tables, chairs and armchairs is also available for the use or our guests. We also offer the opportunity to book an authentic traditional Italian cooking class in our farm house kitchen just a few kilometres away where you can learn to make authentic Italian dishes, such as fresh homemade pasta ( tagliatelle, tagliolini, pappardelle) or gnocchi di patate (potato dumplings), chicken nuggets with Vin Santo or with saffron or saltimbocca 'Le Pietre Vive' etc. all made with our own local produce and accompanied by our own wine!

We are present on site as the main part of the castle is still home to part of the family and we always ready to assist our guests during their stay to help them get the most out of their vacation in this fascinating area of Italy.

We have all the advantages of the peace and beauty of the Tuscan countryside at just a few minutes drive from the historic centre of Siena with all its attractions: restaurants and bars, fascinating medieval and Renaissance squares and streets, monuments, museums and wonderful events such as the famous Palio of Siena.

The castle is just outside Siena and despite its air of timeless tranquillity very close to main roads linking us all major Tuscan cities and offering easy access to all popular Italian destinations. As well all the attractions of Siena itself you can easily visit other famous art cities like Florence, Arezzo, Perugia or even follow the footsteps of St Francis in the ancient town of Assisi or still more easily explore any of the delightful medieval Tuscan hill towns nearby. You can even relax at one of the Thermal spa resorts only 15 km. or so away.

Fantastic Experience

  • 5 of 5

We were excited about the prospect of staying in the tower of a 13th century castle and the experience did not disappoint. 360 degree views over the Tuscan hills and the city of Sienna were outstanding. It was fun to be on top of the bell tower in Sienna and be able to pick out the castle and the specific tower where we were staying from miles away. The room was clean and comfortable and Nicola and Valeria went out of their way to help to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I strongly recommend you include a dinner at their farmhouse restaurant, "Le Pietre Vive", which is a few kilometers away from the castle. One of the best meals we had on the trip. Valeria was also helpful in suggesting local day trips to places like Radda in Chianti and Pansano in Chianti, both of which turned out to be real gems. Highly recommend you stay at this property!

Amazing experience with amazing 360 degree views and wonderful staff

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the highlights of our two week trip in Italy. We stayed in the turret and it was awesome. Great breakfast each morning as well. We also took a cooking class and ate at the restaurant every night that is out near the castle. To stay in the turret it has two steep winding staircases so if you can't do that there are other rooms available... I highly recommend this place. And it's just minutes away from the center of sienna. We enjoyed being out of the hustle and bustle. We would go back in a heartbeat! Val was so amazing and inviting.

Great castle. Amazing views. Wonderful hosts.

  • 5 of 5

We toured Italy for a month, culminating with a two-night stay at Castello Delle Quattro Torra. We are already dreaming of returning to Italy someday, and Castello Delle Quattro Torra is on a short-list of places we would like to return to. The castle is beautiful. The views of the Tuscan countryside are amazing. The hosts were exceptionally warm and gracious. We'll be back someday!

We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. Fresh pastries every morning plus a large spread of breakfast goodies. The tower room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities. We rented a car for this leg of our journey and were able to drive throughout the country side( recommended). Everything I wanted in a castle stay. I would come back no question. I only gave 4 Because I'm always on the hunt for 5.

Amazing Experience!!!

  • 5 of 5

What an unbelievable experience! We stayed in the tower of the castle after reading other reviews, and it did not disappoint. The tower had a unique view in all four directions. The views of Tuscany and Siena are straight from a fairy tale. The location is perfect for vising all of the surrounding areas including the numerous medieval villages (Montepulciano, Pienza, San Gimignano), the Chianti region, and obviously Siena.

Valeria was our host. She was one of the most kind and gracious people we met during our vacation to Italy. Upon arrival she gave us a tour of the castle as well as the history of the castle. You can tell she has a special place in her heart for the castle and Tuscany. She provided us with many great recommendations, including the best prosciutteria we visited during our trip.

Each morning we were served a very nice Tuscan breakfast which included coffee or tea, juice, salami, cheese, and many different breads with a variety of spreads.

We definitely plan to stay in the castle again one day, and will recommend it to all of our family and friends.
