Our stay in the Castello delle quattro torri, was absolutely amazing; a "rocambolesco" experience! We were met at the door by Nicola on our first day. From the moment we waited for him before entering the castle doors, it felt like we were traveling back in time. The castle is incredibly beautiful. We arrived here later in the afternoon during the magic hour of the sun; the sun was shining on the castle, the colors of the leaves were changing on the vines of the castle walls. It was just stunning. Nicola welcomed us into his family's home as if we were old family and friends. Nicola couldn't have been more helpful and attentive to our every needs. He showed us the best place to park our rental car in Sienna, which was a five minute drive (literally - no more than four or five min) to Sienna. It's a family run business. The adorable woman (I think it was his Aunt) cooking us breakfast in the mornings was so sweet and the breakfast she made us was wonderful and authentic Italian (including cappuccinos!) The rooms were immaculate and beautifully decorated. The tower room we stayed in for one night had a neat spiral staircase leading up into the sleeping area. The view from the castle (bedrooms, living room, dining area) is amazing. You can see the Tuscan hills for miles. The land around the castle is so picturesque and you are encouraged to walk this entire area, walking through the olive groves and walking through the vineyards. It feels like you are in the scene of a movie.
Nicola's family owns a farm nearby the castle with a restaurant on the property called Le Pietre Vive restaurant. One of the nights, we had the most "cena deliziosa" delicious dinner. Mauro, our waiter at the restaurant was super helpful with the menu, gave the best recommendations and even shared grappa with us! Nicola also makes his own chianti wine, saffron, honey and oil. We purchased wine and honey from Nicola to take back home with us.
Nicola noticed it was my husband's birthday, while we were checking in, and the next morning, on his birthday, he greeted my husband with an Italian happy birthday and so did his Aunt. We absolutely loved our stay here at Castello delle Quattro Torra and would recommend it to everyone. Sienna is an incredible little city and the quick drive from there also makes it so wonderful. Thank you so much, Nicola! Grazie Mille! Love, Nicola & Tanya
We were excited about the prospect of staying in the tower of a 13th century castle and the experience did not disappoint. 360 degree views over the Tuscan hills and the city of Sienna were outstanding. It was fun to be on top of the bell tower in Sienna and be able to pick out the castle and the specific tower where we were staying from miles away. The room was clean and comfortable and Nicola and Valeria went out of their way to help to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I strongly recommend you include a dinner at their farmhouse restaurant, "Le Pietre Vive", which is a few kilometers away from the castle. One of the best meals we had on the trip. Valeria was also helpful in suggesting local day trips to places like Radda in Chianti and Pansano in Chianti, both of which turned out to be real gems. Highly recommend you stay at this property!
This was one of the highlights of our two week trip in Italy. We stayed in the turret and it was awesome. Great breakfast each morning as well. We also took a cooking class and ate at the restaurant every night that is out near the castle. To stay in the turret it has two steep winding staircases so if you can't do that there are other rooms available... I highly recommend this place. And it's just minutes away from the center of sienna. We enjoyed being out of the hustle and bustle. We would go back in a heartbeat! Val was so amazing and inviting.
The room, the service, the breakfast, the castle grounds was perfect! Nicola was amazing and so much help! There isn't anything that I would change I would give them a perfect 10 if I could! Thank you for an amazing memory!
We toured Italy for a month, culminating with a two-night stay at Castello Delle Quattro Torra. We are already dreaming of returning to Italy someday, and Castello Delle Quattro Torra is on a short-list of places we would like to return to. The castle is beautiful. The views of the Tuscan countryside are amazing. The hosts were exceptionally warm and gracious. We'll be back someday!
We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. Fresh pastries every morning plus a large spread of breakfast goodies. The tower room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities. We rented a car for this leg of our journey and were able to drive throughout the country side( recommended). Everything I wanted in a castle stay. I would come back no question. I only gave 4 Because I'm always on the hunt for 5.
Breakfast is included in the above price.
