An amazing B&B in Abbeville LA on the banks of the Vermilion River

  • 5 of 5

I hope I can in words do justice to Bayou Rose Cottage B&B to convey just what a very special place this is to visit. I've now stayed there twice. Once with my adult son and recently with my husband. It's such a special B&B. The separate fully equipped one bedroom cottage is perfect for adults wanting a 'home away from home'. A full size kitchen and living room area with sleeper-convertible couch, large bathroom with washer and dryer, bedroom with large closet and very comfortable bed. An attached covered porch and a nearby private large deck/dock on the Vermillion River provide some very special places for morning coffee and evening beverage of choice. Truly one of the most fully equipped B&Bs that I have ever found. A newly completed excellent near-by restaurant offers delicious and convenient dining with great atmosphere. A perfect morning light breakfast treat (including boudin) and a fully equipped kitchen with snacks and condiments is all part of what creates a very special 5 star experience with Anne and Mike, who are also very knowledgeable about the many nearby wonderful area attractions. I look forward to one day returning to Bayou Cottage Rose again....and again. :)

Just the best place to stay in Abbeville

  • 5 of 5

Great experience! In this quiet spot on the river (bayou), you would never guess you were in a city, yet it's a block or two to the best restaurants in town! Anne and Mike live next door and took great care to make our stay comfortable, with drinks in the fridge and a full kitchen, if we had wanted to cook. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the river flow by....and the occasional boat or barge with it's tugboat attached. Southern hospitality at it's best! Plus, Anne was toting around the cutest 6 mo. old baby you ever SAW! A wonderful B&B experience!

The very affordable Bayou Rose cottage was very well appointed and well located on the banks of the Vermillion River. It was also close to shops and restaurants where the Abbeville Crawfish and other Cajun delights were available. Likeable and engaging hosts, Anne & Mike, we're happy to suggest activities in the area. Overall we had a pleasant experience staying at Bayou Rose.

Couldn't have a better introduction to Acadiana

  • 5 of 5

What a remarkable experience is waiting for you at Bayou Rose Cottage! Anne and Mike took us into their home, into their hearts, and into their special Cajun community. From personally delivered morning treats to an expert's insights on where to go and what to see, Anne made sure that our first trip to Acadiana was filled with unforgettable experiences and priceless memories. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, charmingly furnished, and well stocked with everything a traveler might need. Sitting on the back porch in the evening after a day of sightseeing, chatting with Anne and Mike and getting all our questions answered, and watching the Vermilion River--and the occasional tugboat and barge--roll by couldn't have been more relaxing. Perfect spot, perfect hosts, perfect vacation.

The eptimone of Southern hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

When you are greeted with hugs and cupcakes, you know this place is special. Anne is an extraordinary hostess. She has a lovely place on the Vermilion River, right in the middle of the action, yet it feels remarkably relaxed. My husband and I came to Abbeville for a guided fishing trip on the Vermilion Bay but, by far, the best part of our trip was the cottage (and that is saying a lot because the food was delicious!). The bed was comfy, the cottage was well outfitted including snacks and drinks. There was no detail unaddressed. Anne even texted us to let us know that while we were out exploring the Jungle Gardens (go there- it is amazing!), the electricity had blinked during a storm and the Ghost of the Bayou plays with the bedroom tv. She said it would probably be on when we got back unless the Ghost is happy... she must have been unhappy because, sure enough, when we got back, the bedroom tv was on. LOL! One of the reasons that I love VRBO is because the reviews really give you a good idea of what to expect. Ya'll, I can't emphasize enough how much you will love this place.
