About Diane Crist
My husband and I discovered this beach while exploring the Pacific coast of Mexico 20 years ago. We drove in on a potholed dirt road in our VW van and when we saw that left breaking perfect wave we knew this was our spot. There were a couple of bungalows, but no houses then. When we got back home to Idaho my husband began construction of a little wooden house on wheels which became our Saladita home for the next 8 years. We parked right in front of the point break. Finally a developer made 13 lots available and we purchased the one closest to the break. No regrets!
Diane Crist purchased this Bungalow in 2000
Why Diane Crist chose Saladita
Saladita has some of the best surf in the world and is perfect for beginners, with out the 'vibe' of a world class break. The water is clean and the beach is beautiful and sandy, with great swimming and body surfing just out the front door. The yard is completely fenced and safe. We have never had an incident of burglary or violence. There are 13 houses along the strand and all the neighbors know each other. We have a lovely couple who caretake the house and provide a sense of safety.
What makes this Bungalow unique
Our house is ten years old although we have owned the property since 2000. Ours is the first lot in the original subdivision in Saladita and we are close to everything but just the right distance away to feel the privacy of an individual home. This house has it's own well and the entire property is one large garden spot. We planted all these trees, the palms from coconuts.

Unbelievable beauty, fabulous house, great caretakers
overall the property was vey nice and priced correctly
Great location. enjoyed immensely. There are a couple of small things that I would do if I was going regularly but the overall vibe in an area that is a little bit more rural away from it all was just what we wanted.
We highly recommend Casita Bodhichitta. . We have frequent this destination and have booked many other places in the past and this was money well spent. We were hesitant of the open air and no AC but it was completely comfortable...even a bit chilly with the fan at night. Very well laid out and authentic décor. Alfonso and Alicia, in our opinion, were the best caretakers in the area. We also rented out Casa Crist with a group of people. There was plenty of room to have your own space. If you have a group of people, I would recommend renting the entire property. It is truly more bang for your buck than other places on the point. The additional room outside is pretty good size as well. So much room....this place will not disappoint. Highly recommend. Thank you John.
What a place! Very relaxing and beautiful.
This was our second stay at Casita Bodhichitta. Such a beautiful, comfortable and well set-up bungalow right on the beach. Perfectly located just a short walk from the surf and beach-side restaurants. You can watch the surf break while swinging in the hammocks on the front porch. It's a very well set-up casita, beautifully decorated, well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, well situated to catch the ocean breeze and listen to the breaking waves. The surrounding grounds are also very beautiful and well set-up. Private and safe, staying at Casita Bodhichitta makes for a very relaxing stay, whether hanging around the shaded pool or reading in one of the hammocks. The caretakers, Alfonso and Alicia, are very friendly and helpful. All-in-all a great place to stay for a very relaxing surf vacation. Highly recommended.
We had a ball! La Casita Bodhichitta was just what we were looking for. On the bay, great accommodations and soo relaxing. The surf was great, the locals were really helpful and friendly. Take in easy, take a long walk or go surfing. We're going back!!!!!
We stayed at La Casita Bodhichitta during Spring Break 2014 with our 5 year old and 11 year old.. and it was absolutely AMAZING!! The house was beautiful and had everything we could have needed/wanted. Our kids loved playing in the ocean, as well as the pool, and we all relaxed in the hammocks while watching the sun set or reading a book. We ate every meal on the lanai overlooking the ocean and enjoyed a stroll along the beach every day. This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever been on and we will most definitely vacation here again.
