Welcome to Chill Lake House! Privately sited on 9 acres directly on beautiful 7 mile long Pemaquid Lake. Only 3 miles to downtown Damariscotta, this stunning 3,000 square foot house has been completely renovated and professionally decorated to provide you with comfort, beauty and an abundance of upscale amenities. Although it's very private and quiet, you are only 1/4 mile to Route 1 and within a half hour to Boothbay, Camden, Pemaquid, Rockland and Bath. Chill Lake House is the perfect home base for your mid-coast vacation!

The main living area features a large, open floor plan with wood floors, new furniture and a stone gas fireplace. There is a gorgeous open kitchen with quartz countertops and all new stainless appliances, including a gas stove/oven, dishwasher and french door fridge.

There are three bedrooms all on the main (2nd) floor, with new mattresses and their own attached bathroom. The master bedroom has a king bed and large bathroom with a new vanity, tile floor, separate shower and soaking tub. There is also a large queen bedroom and a third bedroom that has a brand new queen bed. We also stock the lake house with high quality duvets and sheets, cozy bath towels and new beach towels.

On the lower level there is another large living area with a huge wood burning fireplace, a sectional couch, 2 recliners and 50 " hi-def flat screen TV. There is also a game area and a small office area. There is a queen sized pull out sofa and a half bath, so this large area is private and well suited to accommodate 2 more guests. There is also a twin bed that we can set up upon request

For your convenience there is central air conditioning, wifi and an automatic generator.

The house was designed specifically for wheelchair access with an open floor plan, extra wide doorways, an elevator, a generator and a 2nd floor emergency exit ramp. There is no-step access into and throughout the house. The accessible bedroom has an extra-wide attached bath with roll-in shower, roll under sink and grab bars. It provides access from the entry all the way to the private dock. Please email for specific measurements.

The house sits at the end of the private road on the shore of the lake. There is a good sized yard and a private dock from which to enjoy boating, swimming and fishing. There is a fire pit and several adirondack chairs in which you can relax. We now also provide guests with the use of 2, 10ft recreational kayaks.

The lake itself is approximately 7 miles long, is known as one of the warmest lakes in the area and is great for swimming. It also provides access to several other connecting lakes via kayak and is a great spot for boating of all kinds. The property is a short walk to a small park with a boat launch and ball field.

Even though it is super quiet, Checkerberry is centrally located just 1/4 mile off of Rt. 1, only 4 miles from the Village of Damariscotta and about half way between Boothbay Harbor and Camden.

I was hoping to find a newer, centrally located waterfront home. After looking for several years, I finally found this beautiful home that is perfectly located for mid-coast exploring.

What makes this house unique

Waterfront on the lake is great because the water is warmer than the ocean and you can actually swim in it. The lake is a great fishing spot for trout and small mouth bass.

The perfect location. Very private and quiet, yet right off of Rt 1 and within a 10 Minute drive of Damariscotta and its many fine shops, galleries and restaurants. Perfect Maine Getaway

The pictures and description do not do the house justice. The accommodations are great. The kitchen is top notch, each bedroom has its own bathroom, there is an extra great room and bathroom downstairs, the beds are super comfy, and the house is beautifully decorated. The house has its own dock on the lake, great for swimming and kayaking when the weather is warm enough. Very tranquil location that is a great launching point for day trips to see the beautiful coast of Maine. Pam, the owner and manager, is very accomodating. I would definitely stay here again.

The perfect getaway.

We had the most AMAZING time at the Chill Lake House. We visited for a week for my husband's 40th birthday and it could not have been a better experience. Pam and Kelly took care of every single detail you could ever ask for. The house is beautifully decorated and stocked with everything from a lobster pot to homemade soaps. We spent tons of time kayaking on the lake, making fires and BBQing. The house is located in the PEFECT location for exploring and adventuring the coast. It's right off a main road, yet feels like a million miles from anything. The town of Damariscotta is a dream location for a perfect Maine getaway. Thanks for the most special trip we've had in ages... we can't wait to return!

Lovely Lake Home

Enjoyed 2 fabulous weeks at The Chill Lake House - wonderful accommodations, great mattresses, all the comforts of home, fully stocked. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace downstairs each night. Since this was a working vacation for me the office area had a perfect view of the lake and sunrises that made the fact that I was working tolerable & pleasurable. We enjoyed watching eagles, loons, herons, ducks, & geese on the lake every day and even saw some turkeys on the road to the house - nature at it's best ! Thanks Pam & Kelly for sharing your lovely home.

Awesome Fall trip

This place is just beautiful-the house, the furnishings, the landscaping, the fabulous view, and, of course, Pam (who was only a text away)! Everyday was filled with beautiful fall foliage to view and great sights to visit that were relatively close to this centrally placed location. Highly recommend scenic view in Boothbay on 96. Stunning! Cellar door winery is worth a trip ( or two). There were 3 couples and the place suited us so well. Every bedroom had its own bathroom and the downstairs was a great place to spread out if needed for TV or game playing. Lots of wonderful memories!

early June vacation

This listing is accurate and the property is very clean and well maintained. Pam provided excellent customer service and I highly recommend this property - the home is beautifully furnished and very comfortable, the kitchen is well outfitted and the location is fantastic both for privacy and as a home base for exploring the mid coast. The home has a large bank of east facing windows, sunrise over the lake is spectacular! - My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our early June getaway!
