This is the perfect place to enjoy all that Hollywood has to offer. Walking distance to Hollywood and Highland, Mann Chinese Theater, Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Cinerama Dome, Amoeba Music, tons of restaurants, bars and nightclubs - there is literally no chance you will ever be bored in this neighborhood.
The apartment is gigantic - over 850 square feet. There is a ton of room for everything with two closets, shelves and drawers for all your stuff. There are lots of areas to relax and enjoy. First of all the private balcony gives you a birds eye view of the neighborhood and the lush garden below.
The master bedroom features a super comfortable queen size bed, DirecTV, DVD player, iPOD dock and original artwork. Moving further in there is a guest room with a desk and a futon couch that folds out into a queen size bed. That room also features original artwork and double doors that open out onto the private balcony. I'd count the guest room and the porch as the 'living area' - they work best together with the doors open.
The kitchen has a large breakfast nook and vintage stove. Pots, pans, silverware, a toaster, microwave, coffee pot, kettle, everything you need to prepare basic meals if you enjoy cooking - although there are numerous restaurants to suit every budget within walking distance and many of them deliver as well.

The neighborhood is the big draw. It's walking distance to so many great places and our corner is very friendly and the neighbors are great.
The history of the property is interesting as well. I am only the third owner since 1915 when the main house was built. It was one of the first in the neighborhood. A Greek family bought it in the 70s and the father was the one who established the community garden across the street. Apparently he used to go across the street and gather ingredients while he was cooking. Neighbors come by and tell stories about him - I guess he was a bit of a character.
When I was looking at it it just felt like the kind of place I'd want my son to grow up and invite my friends and family to come over and enjoy.

This vintage Hollywood property was spacious and spotless, with a very nice private balcony. The beds were quite comfortable and the sheets and towels are good quality, unlike many vacation rentals I've stayed in. The kitchen is mostly well equipped but some wine glasses would be welcome. The bathroom is sparkly and the shower good. Our only problem was the hairdryer which does turn on, but is not adjustable and doesn't get really warm. Alex the landlord arrived immediately on the doorstep when we texted about an issue. Turned out to be a non-issue but he was very responsive and friendly. This apartment is very good value for such a convenient Hollywood location.

Up the wooden stairs to open the steel screen outside door to access the solid door with a keyless code lock. It was a hot day and I arrived late to a hot apartment (With a single window AC). Didn't take too long to cool things down with the front door open to let in the night air.
During my 4 day stay, the sunroom and pictured outside porch was too hot & humid to use. A leather arm chair ( The other of the pair is in the sunroom) is the only seating for watching cable TV (No printed channel guide) . Kitchen and 4-seat breakfast table are okay, but not enough tableware for four. Shower and hot water was plentiful. Two-door closet in the main room is large for hanging anyone's wardrobe, but no drawers.
The change needed to stay here again is to replace the bed with a normal bed. That bed had no support and easy to roll off if too close to the edge. I slept in the center, but would never rent again with that worst of all beds I've ever slept ( Or, tried to sleep) on. Awful.
Alexander, the owner, was on top of pre-arrival info and instructions. I never met or heard from him, but that wasn't expected.
It was just perfect to be in this sweet Hollywood apartment, which was plenty spacious for our family of four. I loved starting the mornings with coffee and my book on the balcony. There's even a view of a mountain in the distance and lovely trees and flowers nearby. With a market right down the block that has everything and walking distance to Hollywood Blvd., I give this special spot an A+. The beds and bedding were super comfortable, too! We would definitely return on a future trip to the LA area.
My friends and I stayed 8 days and nights at this place, and it made our vacation so much easier! It is at the heart of everything you may need while you're in LA. We would walk all the time to Walk of Fame, Vine Street, Hollywood Blvd... Etc. So many restaurants are nearby, grocery stores, drug stores. The owner was so helpful and kind and always there to answer any questions or problems you might have regarding whatever. The place is pretty neat and clean. I definitely recommend it and will most certainly choose to stay again next time I'm in LA.
The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood and on the 2nd floor. It was clean, roomy and perfect for 4 people. It was very close to everything Hollywood and a short drive to all the popular areas. With my luck I stayed on one of the coldest weekends and the heater was broken. Alex was kind enough to stop in that night to try to fix it. Luckily, he had portable heaters to hold us over. We enjoyed our stay!
