John, a retired secondary school principal with over 40 years of experience, has also worked as adjunct faculty at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, mentoring and coaching graduate students of education. Nancy is an education consultant and former classroom teacher. They enjoy meeting new people and sharing their experiences in both Alaska and Hawaii. John and Nancy have been Alaskans since 1975 and have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.

John and Nancy have vacationed on Kauai, Big Island, Oahu, and Maui, but they love Maui best, and particularly Maalaea Bay. They keep choosing Maalaea Bay as a place to vacation because it is quiet, serene, romantic, and relaxed. They purchased Milowai 105 in 2011 and have completely renovated it. They are active owners who are constantly upgrading their unit to make it a special vacation experience for their guests.

This condo, Milowai 105, on Maalaea Bay is walking distance from the Maui Ocean Center and Aquarium, snorkel and whale-watching tours that depart from the Maalaea Boat Harbor, and only a few minutes walk to Maui's longest beach, Sugar Beach, between Maalaea and Kihei - 5 miles of uninterrupted sand.

Best stay in Maui!

We absolutely loved the location and how quiet and safe the condo location was.

What most impressed us, however, was the cleanliness and attention to details. We are very clean, tidy, and organized and to find your location met every one of our standards blew us out of the water. You had extra towels, bedding, snorkeling and swimming gear, and even travel location guides all readily available.

We have already discussed coming back next year and want to stay again at your location.

Great location and beautiful place.

This place is exactly like it is pictured. The owners and their housekeeper person are so polite and helpful. It was a perfect location as we were basically 30 minutes from anything we wanted to do because it is right in the middle of the island. Kitchen had everything we ever needed for meals. Comfy couch, bed and nice bathroom. I would have liked AC in bedroom as I sleep very warm but all but couple nights opened up and the trade winds helped cool the place down. The only thing bad I could say is not about unit or owner but the barbecues need to be replaced as you can't control the heat so took some time to get used too. I just would enjoy the beautiful view so no biggie. I talked to a maintenance person who said they hope to replace them soon so might not be an issue anymore.

I can say almost every night we could be out in early evening 4pmish and see turtles all over the waters right in front of the complex which was so cool.

I highly recommend this unit and especially these owners. If I decide to come back to Maui I would definitely stay here in a heartbeat.

Really great

Condo unit very clean and nicely furnished . Great quality utensils and

appliances in kitchen. Nice private lanai. Nice pool and grounds.The view of the ocean and

landscaping is hard to beat.The breezes and sound of the waves really

add to the ambience. The surrounding area is not crowded like Kihei.

You can walk to the aquarium and book activities with the Pacific Whale

Foundation , or visit the shops and restaurants. Easy access to Lahaina

and other parts of the island.Owners supply lots of info. to help with your stay.

Highly recommended!

Condo is beautifully decorated, fully equipped, central location on Maui. Owner has everything super organized with notes all around with anything you may need. Loved the Tradewinds, kept place cool. Turtles in front everyday. Great views of Haleakala & south Maui! Loved it!

Great place, conveniently located.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 10th anniversary in Milowai #105. It was the perfect condo! John and Nancy have done a great job remodeling and updating this place. It's not a huge condo, but spacious enough for two. The condo itself has everything you need, and then some. We made daily use of the well-stocked kitchen, the great hi-def tv & bluray player, and the beach supplies. We really liked the reserved parking off-street parking and the keyless entry to the condo. The location is wonderful, right next to quaint Ma'alaea harbor, which has activities, dining, and shopping. Be sure to check out Beach Bum's happy hours (good Mai Tais). The condo was really well taken care of and obviously cleaned by someone who knows what they are doing. We have rented various other condos through VRBO and it always makes a difference when the owners frequently use their unit. The Normans have made this place a perfect home away from home. We highly recommend this place!
