About Ginger Howard

We live in Jackson WY and bought this house for our Cincinnati visits a few times a year. My husband worked in commercial real estate for Jones Lang LaSalle and is now retired. I taught Montessori pre-school and grades 1-4 in public schools. We have two grown children in the San Francisco Bay area, check out our kids' creative business at leafcutterdesigns dot com. We split our time between Berkeley CA, Driggs ID, Cincinnati, and Uruguay.

Why Ginger Howard chose Cincinnati

I lived in Hyde Park while attending college. It's a great walking community - cute houses, lots of coffee shops and restaurants, and close to all the best in Cincinnati. It's a great location for exploring the city: Eden Park, Over the Rhine, Ault Park, Downtown and Covington KY.

What makes this house unique

The house has tall ceilings and a large kitchen with island and double doors to the outside. Love the front porch and garden in front, and the large yard in back. Lots of beds so you'll have flexibility with who sleeps where. But the best benefit is the location.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Cannot think of any improvements. You even catered for children from 2 months old, onwards. You even had zipper bags and anti snow salt.

What an equiped kitchen!! Your cleaners left your house AS NEW.

Perfection. Never let them go. Best, Ron

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with two women friends, and the three of us were delighted with the house. It is comfortable, clean, and attractive. We found everything we needed in the kitchen, which is a great, airy room with a pleasant view out the large window looking out onto the backyard. The bedrooms are charming without being fussy, and the beds are comfortable - and plentiful! There is ample parking in the driveway. The neighborhood is pretty and the house is a short walk from an area with restaurants, a great fish market, and Graeter's ice cream. I'd stay here again!

Charming house, close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

We were fifteen minutes or less to everything we wanted to do. Hyde Park is wonderful, with its seafood store, bakery, olive oil store and Graeters ice cream. Quick and easy to downtown without any major highways. We've stayed in Ginger's other house, Hopscotch, which is the perfect size for us. This house was more than we needed, but we loved it anyway! The kitchen is well equipped for the cooking we did each night. This historic property is beautifully restored, giving modern amenities with architectural charm. Only suggestion is to add a DVD player :) We look forward to returning to Cincy next year!

Amazing Property and Home -WOW

  • 5 of 5

What a great stay at this property in Hyde Park. If you have never been to this city (as none of our family had before), this is the crown jewel city outside of Cincinnati. The neighborhood is unbelievable with the downtown just two blocks away, shops, restaurants, an amazing coffee and wine bar(awakenings). The Buskin bakery is very close and very likely the best bakery we have ever seen. Whole Foods is around the corner and many other great stores. My wife and I walked every morning for 3+miles each day of our trip, trying a new coffee shop each day and experiencing the farmers market on Sunday. Local, organic farmers amazing. The house is well done with all necessary conveniences for your stay including amazing space for entertainment (including a piano which our oldest son loves). The kitchen is huge for this old of a home and we enjoyed the private driveway and parking which can be difficult in these neighborhoods. Overall I would highly recommend you won't be disappointed.

Great House, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house with lots of space for a family. Back porch and back yard were great for kids to play. Easy walk to bakery, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. We were in town for a wedding and being able to also rent the house next door was a big advantage.

Hyde Park Square is one block away. Beautiful fountain surrounded by benches, and coffee shops, ice cream parlor, lots of restaurants, and shops. Also walk to Buskens Bakery and more shops at Rookwood Commons. Short drive to Eden Park and Ault Park, and the new restaurant area in Over the Rhine. Try Zip's for burgers close by and Arnold's downtown for a casual historic lunch.
