I am a busy retired person, former owner of 2 Garden Centers
and a Bed and Breakfast. I love landscaping and the grounds of this property are lushly maintained. I live on the grounds in the Main House with my partner and our 2 rescue senior dogs. The
Boat House has been lovingly updated and we look forward to sharing this piece of paradise with Guests.
Steve Moreau purchased this cottage in 2014
I chose to purchase this waterfront property for its sense of serenity
and peace. Having a direct Intercoastal view is a plus. The property is also a true Bird Watcher's paradise. We feel very rural here but can get to the shopping quickly as this area is not that crowded.
Direct Waterfront, boat dock, fishing, abundant marine wildlife
and glorious sunrises and intercoastal views yet close to numerous shops, restaurants, a hospital and churches.
.An antique Mall and 2 restaurant/bars are directly across the street from this property!
My husband and I spent 9 days there and it was the most wonderful vacation we've had in FL!!! We go every 6 months and this has been the Best trip in 6 years! Steve and Andy are excellent hosts, couldn't ask for better people! The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable; it is a very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The property and home are immaculately kept. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking - spices, aluminum foil, etc. with nice heavy cookware and dinnerware. On the patio, there is a wonderfully large stainless steel grill, and a beautiful table sitting next to the water. I ate breakfast there every morning while enjoying the sunrise, watching the sailboats and abundant wildlife begin their day. You can't beat the river view and fantastic sunrises. Bird wildlife is abundant if you’re a birdwatcher or photographer. Dolphins swim close into the dock and fish are constantly jumping out of the water. My husband loved fishing off the dock daily. It's a very private house and short distances to area attractions. I just can't say enough great things about this place and the wonderful owners! We will definitely go back again in July and December! There's a fantastic rib restaurant just a short distance, Rib City at Grant Station is a must if you love ribs!
GO ENJOY, RELAX AND UNWIND at this Hidden Jewel on the Indian River!!! You'll be Glad you did and will fall in Love with it as we did!!!
My wife and I spent the week of Thanksgiving in this gem a rental right on the Indian River (like 3 feet from the lovely and relaxing screened in porch). Very comfortable place will lots of kitchen stuff, washer and drier and excellent WiFi service. Owners are very accommodating and easy to reach for whatever you may need. Great place.
The Boathouse is beautiful. Steve and Andy could not have been more accommodating. Everything was immaculately clean. The view from the dock and the screened in porch were awesome. The surrounding area had everything for entertainment, shopping and great restaurants. I could go on and on. We can't wait for out next opportunity for another vacation at the Boathouse.
We are finicky renters and have used VBRO to rent homes in the Florida Keys, Palm Beach, North Carolina Outer Banks, South Carolina Islands, Georgia’s Tybee Island, Maryland, etc. – I must say after renting from Steve we could not have been more pleased.
Good dishes, nice pots and pans (not orphans that are warped beyond use), wonderful towels and sheets, very clean and well cared for, paper provided, as well as stemware and glasses (again, not orphans left by other travelers). Good small and large appliances and pretty much anything you would need. The furniture and carpets are also very nice/well-made not full of stains or extensive wear-and-tear.
Grant, FL. is a wonderful place if you are looking for a relaxing trip (and not the tacky boardwalks…) but is close to Vero Beach so you can still get to a more populated area if you like. Steve was excellent to work with, probably the best we have ever had! It was my birthday while we were there and he was so kind to bring me a plant and a card, amazing. He also helped us getting our boat in the water and was wonderful at pointing out places to eat/go. Although the home is on his property, it does not feel intrusive and the way it is setup you don't really know there is a house behind you.
Highly recommend this property and plan on renting here in the future as well.
As a Miami Native relocating to a new area, I not only found a perfect environment to move forward, I found a nervana! The "Boathouse" at Grant-Valkaria is a one-of-a-kind experience! I was treated with such kindness that is still unsurpassed! Every attention to detail has been thought of and privacy is paramount. In the two months that I shared with my hosts, I was treated as family and also allowed complete privacy to watch the magic which unfolds on the waters which lay literally against your doorstep. Each morning, I was greated by the beautiful Intracoastal before me and saw many amazing sites; too many to tell! I am lucky and love Steve & Andy's Boat House haven as my first new home. If a special experience is required, this is your chance.
When we abruptly changed our travel plans, I started searching for a quiet and comfortable place on the water and never expected to find a treasure like the boat house. I showed off the photos to all my friends PRIOR to departure. We arrived after 7:30 pm and were greeted by Steve who gave us a quick tour of the place and provided directions to grocery stores and nearby restaurants. We ate at the Old Fish House and Grill a short drive away. My spouse describes as it as rustic old Florida marina bar and grill. The food and atmosphere did not disappoint. We awoke the first morning to a beautiful sunrise.
The accommodations were very comfortable from the king-size bed (the mattress was "just right") to the extremely well equipped kitchen. I quickly learned not wonder if the kitchen came with a particular item but to wonder where the item was stored in the kitchen. Details such as dish and hand soap were very much appreciated. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival and the air conditioning was a welcome relief from the summer heat and humidity. My spouse enjoyed walking out the door and on to the dock to fish. (The red fish he caught was too large to keep so we didn't get to use the grill.)
Steve was a super host. He checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable and to answer questions. When we had difficulty logging on to the internet, both he and Andy were there to help. They promptly called the cable company who came out and replaced the router. When Delta airlines experienced a computer shut-down, Steve checked to see if our flight was affected. It wasn't so we didn't have an excuse to stay an extra day :-(
Our only disappointment was that we had to leave. We plan on returning when we can stay for at least a couple of weeks.
near Kennedy Space Center, about 1 1/2 hours to Orlando, location of Disneyworld, Universal Studios, SeaWorld. The town of Melbourne has beaches, lovely historic district, eclectic shopping and dining. Nearby Sebastian is a fisherman's paradise with numerous oceanfront parks, fishing piers, walking trails and an
'old Florida feel'.
