Newly built on an acre of land on Lac Labelle, The Treehouse offers the relaxing country cottage experience in the Laurentians with all the comforts of home. Our tastefully appointed and spacious house has gleaming wood floors and many windows, providing views of the lake and the forest.
The first floor is open concept with a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living area. There are two spacious bedrooms with queen beds and two adjoined bathrooms, which include a jacuzzi tub and a generous sized shower. Downstairs there is a private bedroom with both a double and bunk bed, which is accessed by a large family room containing a futon.
We have a lovely gas stove and as well as a TV for viewing movies from our DVD library and stereo system if you are interested in relaxing indoors. If the weather is nice the 37 foot upper deck with views of the trees and lake is a great place to spend an evening with friends. A western exposure allows for wonderful sunsets across the lake to be enjoyed from either the upper or lower covered decks or even the dock. We have both a sail boat and motorized row boat if you are interested in touring the lake.
It was always a dream of ours to build a house on Lac Labelle and share it with family and friends. We are happy to offer our house to couples or families looking for a waterfront vacation home on a gorgeous and clean lake, a peaceful getaway in the country, or a warm winter cottage to return to after a day of skiing.
Bryan purchased this house in 2013
Although the house is brand new, the land it sits on has been part of our family for over 50 years. It's proximity to ski hills and crystal clear lake made this location a slice of vacation heaven for both the young and old. Many memories have been made on this land and it is a treasured part of our history.
We spent hours discussing the design of the house. We wanted a place that would be welcoming and comfortable, with lots of places for adults and children to gather. The top deck was designed after the original log cottage on the property which is next door. It was intended to be a low deck with easy access to the water. However, due to some extremely stubborn bedrock the level of the top deck was raised enough so that it feels as if you are up in the trees when you are there, hence the name, The Treehouse.
There is considerable privacy at the Treehouse. We see one neighbour from the driveway, but once inside and /or on the deck, you are not aware of them at all. Also we can see through to the lake but the house is fairly hidden from passersby on the lake. The property is over 1 acre in size. We have large living spaces both inside and out.
Julie and her family were great! They were very clean and respectful of the cottage and left it in great shape. I would recommend having them as guests anytime.
The cabin is roomy ( much more so than pictures suggest) and very well equipped for six adults and some dinner guests. The cabin is close - 30mins - to Mt. Tremblant for skiers and there is an easy shortcut to get there on back roads .
Hosts Anne and Bryan really went out if their way to make the stay comfortable and trouble free.
The house is very well decorated with an eclectic collection of objects, paintings and prints - a nice touch.
Guests should note that TV does not include reception for local channels, but has Netflix and YouTube. I expect the hosts will complete the slightly unfinished downstairs area of the house.
Overall the cabin was excellent base for a family Xmas get together and some skiing. Highly recommended.
Great lakeside chalet with exquisite atmosphere. Roomy, nicely laid out with two big bedrooms upstairs and two baths, one with a jaccuzi, the other with a nice shower. Well appointed kitchen with everything you need.
Downstairs another bedroom and a large kids dormitory, but no bath downstairs. Not quite finished downstairs, but useable.
Outside, huge covered decks overlooking trees and lake. View of lake is filtered by the trees.
Easy and convient access to a beautiful lake, with private dock and a number of boats available
Good location, about 10 min to the town of LaBelle (a couple of restaurants, pharmacy and small grocery) and 25 min to Saint Jovite, where you'll find anything you need
Equally wonderful owners, who very much care about your experience and do everything they can to ensure an enjoyable stay.
We'll be back!!!
We had a great time for a week long winter vacation. Bryan and Anne were a pleasure to deal with. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Exactly as described in listing. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 kids. Ping Pong table got plenty of use and so did Mexican train. The boys had fun sledding behind house and making snow forts. We brought net and played street hockey on driveway. We did snowshoeing/back country skiing right up the hill (Montagne des Pins) behind the house, get a beautiful view of Mont Tremblant once at top. The little grocery store in Labelle has most stuff you could want, and has a nice liquor section as well.
We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the cottage, picturesque lakeside setting within easy reach of Mont Tremblant and other nearby towns. The property itself is attractive, well appointed and with excellent facilities for the kids. We would recommend Creperie Catherine in Mont Tremblant which our daughters enjoyed visiting. The owners were very helpful and approachable. We'd love to come back during either summer to enjoy the lake-based activities, or winter to enjoy the snow. Many thanks!
Stayed there for long weekend with family. Plenty of beds, new home and enough room for everyone. Great location with a very nice lake. Overall no complaints it is what you see in the pictures and really nice for a family trip!
Wonderful home on a lake with dock. Great open floor plan with a large deck. Private. Very clean with everything needed to cook. Close to Mont Tremblant. Nice dock on the lake but boat didn't work. Great owners who welcomed us. We will go back.
Aside from the dock for sunning and swimming, the electric row boat for exploring the lake, and the upper and lower decks for relaxing with friends and family, there are many great things to do around the area. We like to climb the mountain behind the house ( about a 45 minute hike on a marked trail). There is a large rock formation at the top of the mountain which provides a lovely view over the lake and surrounding area. We also swim to the island in the middle of the lake ( also about 45 minutes- 1 hour for average swimmers), but we are always escorted with a boat for safety from other boats and to allow someone to rest.
Climb the mountain
Walk out of the house and down the road to the marked path to a semi-strenuous hour-long hike that concludes in a wondrous vista of the Laurentian mountains and Lac Labelle. Particularly stunning in the autumn.
Swim to the island
Challenge yourself for the 769 meter swim to the island in the center of the lake. Bring along the row boat and a picnic to make a day out of it.
Take a trip to town
There are many things to do in Labelle and slightly further afield. You can take a trip down the Riviere Rouge in a kayak rented from Kayak Cafe in Labelle. There is also the scenic Le Petit Train du Nord bicycle path that is accessible from the old train station which has been converted into a quaint Restaurant and Inn, La Gare. Visit the bakery in La Minerve and get a traditional Quebec Sugar Pie. Both Mont Tremblant and Mont Blanc ski resorts have many year-round activities, like indoor play structures for children and a casino for the adults.
