Summer Weekend Getaway

This Lake Placid Lodge condo was a great price and away from the hustle and bustle of the Village.

Linda was easy to communicate with and booking was straightforward. After payment, she sent us a welcome package that outlined all the do’s and don’ts of the condo.

The electronic keypad lock to the unit was a little bit finicky for MYSELF when I was locking it. I always had to do it twice to make sure it was locked.

As mentioned in the ad when we were booking, the outdoor pool/hot tub was under renovations, so we did not get to enjoy this. However you would be able to access it from the outdoor patio as well as the lobby.

This has been one of the most well-stocked kitchens I’ve stayed at in Whistler. There were appliances (toaster, microwave, blender, kettle); pots, pans, baking sheets and cooking utensils; cooking essentials such as oil and spices; as well as reusable containers, zip lock bags, aluminum foil and plastic wrap. I’m sure some of these items were left by previous renters, but it’s nice to not have to buy a bottle of oil just to cook for 2 days or containers we forgot to pack when we went on our hike.

There were a bunch of DVDs, games and books available for some quiet entertainment.

The bedroom mattress was a bit soft for our liking, but to each their own. We like our beds slightly firmer.

Free underground parking was a plus.

One downside was that it was very warm in the condo. There was a fan in the bedroom and we opened the patio door and all the windows to circulate the air, but it was still quite stuffy.

We definitely had an enjoyable stay and would return again.

Cozy, clean and excellent location!

Only a short drive away from whistler village this condo is in the perfect location. Restaurants and grocery markets within walking distance. Everything you need is supplied in the condo! Was very clean upon arrival. Linda responded quickly to emails and gave detailed instructions on how to get in. Would definitely stay here again!

Located a short drive from Whistler village. Clean and tidy, spacious living space. My only complaint was that the keypad door locks to the building were confusing to operate - they were newly installed and there was some confusion upon check in as to what the codes were.

Nice modern place

Ski lift is about 200' away up about 20 steps. There are a couple great restaurants about two blocks away.

Well kept unit in nice building

The unit is decent size and is in good condition. It was easy to access the unit and the underground garage as well as the hot tub. Quick walk to the Creekside Gondola and you are on your way to a great day of skiing. The booking process was easy and Linda the owner is very responsive to emails. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay

Linda's rental in the Lake Placid Lodge and perfect for the price.

Easy walk from the Gondola (even in ski boots), Coffee Shop, Ski rental/shop, grocery store (very well stocked), and restaurant(s).

The outdoor pool/spa was an easy walk from the outdoor patio (through about 10 yards of snow) to get to the sidewalk and was perfect to soothe sore muscles. You could also access via the lobby and bypass the snow. (Bring your key for access to sauna/change room) Near the pool was an operable shared gas grill.

The condo itself had a well stocked kitchen both in terms of decent cooking implements as well as routine pantry items such as salt/pepper, cooking oil, sugar, etc...

The indoor ski locker inside the front lobby included locking keysets and was very convenient.

The rental included indoor parking at no additional charge.

The view out the window/patio is of the courtyard / pool area.

Insider tip.... for those of you driving up from Vancouver, lift tickets are available at the 7/11 store in Squamish off the Cleveland Ave exit next to McDonalds. Discount is $10/day off the daily rate.

As this property is in the Creekside base area, there are a couple of things you need to consider if you are on a ski vacation. First, if you have beginners in your group, the ski access is via either blue or black runs. You may be able to descend from the upper mountain green runs to Creekside base via download on the Creekside gondola. Second, you will need to keep an eye on the clock come mid afternoon in order to make sure you get back to the top of Garbanzo Express or the Roundhouse before those lifts close in order to be able to ski to Creekside. Worst case, you end up in Whistler village and have to take the bus back to Creekside. Finally, access to Blackomb mid-mountain is just as easy from here as from the Blackomb / Whistler village - Thanks to the Peak to Peak gondola, you can go from Creekside base via the Creekside Gondola, Big Red Express, and the Peak to Peak to Blackomb Rendezvous in only 3 lift rides.

Overall, this rental gets 5 stars for what it is. A very convenient, well stocked, modest rental on the quieter Creekside village. For those that want the bustle of Whistler Village, you will have to make the 10 minute drive or take the bus over - bus stop is just outside the front door. Linda was a pleasure to work with and always very quick to reply to any questions that I had.
