This gorgeous stone house is located in the historic core of Santiago de Compostela (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site), on a lovely pedestrian street just a 2 minute walk from the famous Cathedral of St. James.

The house has been in the family for generations and has been carefully renovated in keeping with its original charm. This spacious apartment (45m2) is located on the first floor (no elevator but only 15 steps up) and consists of an all-new fully equipped eat-in kitchen with dining table for 4 people, bathroom including bathtub/shower, and a hallway with exposed stone work leading to the spacious living room / bedroom. It has a queen size bed as well as a queen sofa-bed to accommodate 4 people comfortably. Exposed stone and hardwood floors extend throughout the house.

Situated in the heart of the monumental district on the lively Rua Nova – just step outside the house and you will be enveloped in the history of the city. Follow the way of St. James to its final destination: the renowned pilgrimage site of the Catedral de Santiago. Wander the lively stone streets under arcades and through enchanting passageways, through beautiful parks and secluded cloisters, to discover the many wonders of the city. As you go for a stroll you can enjoy typical music of the region offered by musicians on the surrounding streets and plazas. An amazing array of restaurants, cafes, shops, bars, museums, markets are just outside the door! And if you fancy a day trip, Galicia offers destinations galore: from exploring big cities and charming towns, to trekking through mountain trails and virgin forests, visiting solitary lighthouses atop dramatic sea-side cliffs or soaking in the sun on the coast's unspoilt beaches – you can have it all within a half hour's ride. If you're driving, there's a public parking garage just 2 minutes' walk from the house under the Plaza de Galicia.

Guests at the apartment will enjoy all the amenities, including HDTV, wireless internet access (WiFi) and a new heating / air conditioning system. They will find the kitchen stocked with all the cookware, cutlery, etc needed for preparing home-cooked meals, along with a range, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and a clothes-washing machine. Bedding, linens and towels are provided.

Spanish, English, German, Slovene and some French are spoken - and all inquiries are welcome!

This was my first experience booking an apartment online and from the first email, it was such a pleasant, easy-going and happy experience. Marvelous hosts, and although I didn't have much time to get to know them better, they made me feel very welcome and were always happy to help and chat!

This location was perfect for me, slap bang in the centre of the Old Town, totally the best location to explore this welcoming city. I love the fact that you can hear the Cathedral's Chimes, very comforting! I would definitely recommend this place to any traveler, and hopefully next time I visit Santiago, it will be after walking the Camino!

Great place!

My husband and I rented the apartment for a week. It was the perfect size for us and had everything we needed. Great location in the old town close to everything we needed. Sonia was a great host and responded quickly to any questions we had. Highly recommend it.

A well modernised flat in a picturesque street

The flat is very clean and modern with a well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed being in the heart of the old town, close to all the sights and convenient for the airport bus. The lovely street is pedestrianised, but the pilgrims are rather noisy late at night so bring earplugs. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Ellen and Brian

Location, Location, Location

such a darling little apartment right on Rua Nova, which appears to be a hot spot, come morning, come night. The apartment had everything we needed. A complete kitchen (no dishwasher, but we didn't need one), including a washing machine and drying rack. We were surprised that our laundry dried so quickly, because it was rainy and cool. However, it dried quite nicely. The living/bedroom combo worked out fine, because it was just the two of us. Everything was very nice. We had a view of the street from the living area. The street was delightful. We felt like we were living in Santiago. Restaurants/Bars all along the street, as well as delightful little boutiques. We were walking distance to all of Old Town and the new area, as well. Parks, etc., were everywhere. The biggest kuddo was the distance to the Cathedral. An easy walk, which we did daily. Restaurants galore, within an easy walk. We even saw a parade on Rua Nova...The Feast of Corpus Christi came from the Cathedral right down the street. We were just ready to come in and found ourselves standing watching the parade go by. We felt like we were Santiaogans.

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We will recommend it to anyone we know who is coming to Santiago. My husband walked 500 miles on the Camino and I met him there. For those so inclined, the Camino is a blessing...every single mile. For those not, Santiago is a blessing as well. The energy of the millions of pilgrims who have walked those stone streets for over one thousand years echoes to you as you walk each step.

A beautiful apartment in a beautiful city

I very much enjoyed my stay at this apartment in Santiago. The apartment was charming, spacious and very clean. It is located on a pedestrian street and it can get quite noisy during the night. I am a light sleeper but the frivolity didn't keep me awake. It might be a little different in the summer if the windows are open. The city is wonderful and the apartment is right in the center of it all. It's only a 4 or 5 minute walk to the cathedral. The washer is a great addition for a traveler who want to carry light.

To confirm the booking, the guest whose credit card was used must provide a copy of his/her identification (passport or national ID card). On arrival, the reserving guest must show the original identification document and the credit card used to make the booking. Failure to provide this information will result in termination of the stay in accordance with the property's cancellation policy. This is our family home, so guests are expected to treat it with respect and leave it in tidy and good condition on departure. Please remember that NO SMOKING is allowed and no parties or large gatherings are permitted. Only guests who form part of the reserved party can stay at the property. For stays longer than 1 week, the host reserves the right upon notice to enter the property for an inspection. Please note that the house does not have an elevator - access to the different floors of the house is via stairs. By booking the apartment, guests acknowledge that failure to observe these simple rules will result in termination of the stay and forfeiture of the rental fee & deposit. Deposit acts as security against any damage that might be caused to the apartment or furnishings during the stay. It will be refunded upon an inspection of the apartment, so long as the apartment is left in the same condition it was found. Check-in is after 3:30pm and check-out is by 10:30am. Check-in/out between the hours of 11pm-8am is subject to a 20€ surcharge. Cleaning service is available upon request during the stay for an extra fee.
