FOR YOUR ROMANTIC GET-AWAY OR MOUNTAIN VACATION! Huge living room, one bedroom , bath, full kitchen . Breathtaking views to infinity! Privacy! Comfort! World Class Fly-fishing in near-by crystal mountain steams and tumbling rivers.

Imagine: You’re relaxing on an open patio at 2600 feet elevation on a private 40-acre ridge. Before you undulate the Smoky Mountains, oldest in the world. Far on the right is an unobstructed view of 6643-foot high Clingman’s Dome, only 41 feet lower than the highest peak in the eastern United States. Blue skies and streaming clouds arch over these venerable mountains and their rich lode of flora and fauna. The world’s most diverse bio-system is yours to explore, with its cascading waterfalls, crystal trout streams, whitewater rivers, and stands of virgin forests. Enjoy!

Buffalo Creek Guest Cottage is luxurious, contemporary sophistication in one-level, cottage-style lodging. A flight of outdoor steps to this private perch is like a stairway to heaven for adoring couples. And for serious fly fishermen, a quality step up to accommodations that the famous ORVIS organization uses along with the Buffalo Creek Lodge. The cottage assures your comfort with air-conditioning, two satellite TVs, and ceiling fans in living room, dining area, bedroom, and bathroom. Light-finished pine paneling throughout.

The bedroom contains a queen bed, custom built-in clothes cabinetry, and TV nook. Overhead heat lights keep you cozy in a master-size bathroom with tub/shower, clothes closet, and built-in storage shelving. The living room is a study in complementary woods that brighten the interior. Floors are of beautifully-finished native pine while walls glow with white northern pine and large beams accent beaded pine in the cathedral ceiling. A love seat sofa overlooks a large coffee table to TV by satellite. Two facing, oversize daybed sofas offer total body comfort beyond imagining.

A full, open kitchen shares a corner of the living room ambiance. New appliances make your food preparation easy: electric stove, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee grinder and two pots. Utensils provided. Bar stools hug up to a beautiful wood counter top. Just steps away, your choice: a dining room table with four comfortable chairs or large, open patio deck with cedar furniture including dining table with umbrella, chairs including rockers, and bench. Also gas grill barbecue. Take in the morning sun with your first cup of coffee and favorite book on the intimate, secluded front porch.

What to do onsite or nearby: Let a professional ORVIS fly-fishing guide show you where to reel them in. Visit Cherokee and see Unto These Hills for insight into local native-American history. Dine in renowned restaurants. Or go hiking, rock climbing, biking, golfing, horseback riding, shopping, swimming, boating, water-skiing, or rafting. Whether you like pure relaxation, moderate activity, or frantic action... this is the place for you!

Enjoy THE POINTE

It's only a two-minute stroll to possibly the most beautiful private picnic/cookout/overlook area in the Smokies! The Pointe was carved out of a ridge and developed as a special 'thank you' to our guest and your additional pleasure during you stay with us. Amenities include covered grilling deck with outdoor sink and counter top, bathroom, tables, a swing for two, hammock, and adirondack chairs. The central view from The Pointe is 'Clingman's Dome, coming within 42 feet of being the highest peak east of the Mississippi. Nature provides the views, trees, and wild flowers, the wild turkeys, hawks, resident owl, and a variety of songbirds...we provide the rest! The Pointe can be reserved for your private use.

Returning from the UK for a second time

  • 5 of 5

We have just re-visited Buffalo Creek Guest Cottage for the second time and had another fantastic holiday there for 2 weeks. We enjoyed the cabin so much last year that we persuaded my parents to join us and they stayed in the owners other cabin, Bridge Cottage. They thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Beau is the most amazing host - extremely accommodating, thoughtful and generous. We also had some really fun evenings, watching the sun set over the Smoky Mountains. You never tire of the views.

This year we brought our mountain bikes with us so we went on several long rides on nearby trails.

Lulu's Restaurant in Sylva was recommended to us this year and we had a really nice lunch. The catfish was delicious.

Beautiful Guest House

  • 5 of 5

I loved staying at the guest house. It was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. It's clean and spacious, and has all the amenities you would need. The views are stunning and it's an easy drive to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The electricity was out when I first got there because of storms the previous night, but Beau was really great about communicating. The lack of electricity didn't phase me--the cabin was incredible even without it. And it didn't take very long for the lights to come back on. If you're looking for a place to stay in the mountains, pick this one. Highly recommended!

Owner's Response: That was beyond the normal review....thank you for being so gracious in dealing with the elements beyond our control...Mother Nature has her way of being unpredictable, even on one's vacation. Thank you for choosing us out of hundreds of other options....please come again when the mountains are "calling" Your appreciative host ! Beau

Beautiful View

  • 3 of 5

This cottage had a very beautiful view. It had lots of charm and very cozy. Unfortunately the stairs into front door where very steep and presented

a hardship due to my husband's recent stroke. Beau was kind enough to allow us to cut thru his porch area to avoid the stairs. Beau also arranged to have someone else carry our luggage. Beau is a very gracious host... very much a gentleman. Thanks for memories!
