This lovely modern ranch on a private lot on beautiful, crystal-clear Loon Lake features fabulous views, room to play, and a superb location in the heart of the Adirondacks! Inside you will find a spacious living room with expansive stone fireplace and wood burning stove and dining area, with beautiful pine walls throughout. There is a full kitchen for your entertaining needs, with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, garbage disposal, and generous storage and counter space. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and great views of the lake. The second bedroom has two twin beds, and the third has a double bed and also a nice view of the water. All three have large closets and dressers for abundant storage. There is a pull-out queen sofa bed in living room, as well. With a back deck overlooking the lake, terraced grounds that slope down to 100’ of waterfront, and a private carpeted dock, this is an ideal place for swimmers and boaters to relax with family and friends! Amenities include one full bath with shower, washer/dryer, picnic table, mobile outdoor fire pit, kayaks, canoe, high speed internet and cable television with surround sound, as well as one car garage and ample parking. Jet skis and power boat rentals are also available at the Loon Lake Marina. The location is also superb, located just off of exit 25 on I-87, and just minutes from Chestertown’s main street, as well as within easy reach of Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, Gore Mountain, Bolton Landing, Lake George, and so much more! No matter what your interests, you will find it nearby!

The lake is clear and the water level near the shore is typically 3-4 feet with a rapid drop off at the end of the dock (approximately 8 feet deep). The lake is spring fed and while you will find the occasional warm spot, the water temperature is typically 66-70 degrees.

Beautiful & Comfortable, with plenty of activity

We stayed at this cottage in August 2016. We had 3 kids and 3 adults. The house is lovely and comfortable: There was plenty of room for all of us. The house itself has everything that you'd need & expect for a vacation rental - fully equipped kitchen, wifi, excellent cable TV, and a great tv set. And the house came with a gorgeous canoe and 2 kayaks. We used all of these liberally for the week that we were there. The property and the lake are fantastic. There is a deck at the house looking out over the lake, as well as a couple of grassy landings on the way down to the water, all perfect for a cup of coffee while planning your day, reading a good book, or just hearing the wind in the poplars. A stone staircase leads to a dock at the lake, which seems to have been made for watching spectacular sunsets, fishing, jumping off of, or just horsing around. We arrived on a Saturday, and the lake was alive with summer activity and fun. Even with the weekend activities, that never hampered our ability to swim, kayak and canoe. By Monday morning, things had quietened down considerably. The lake is great for swimming, and jumping off the dock kept two 10-year olds and a 15-year old entertained for hours. There are plenty of options for activities beyond the house and swimming off the dock. For example, there are a couple of local marinas that rent power boats and other water-sports ephemera - pontoons, go-fast boats, water-skis, tubes, etc. We rented a go-fast boat with a tube, (which the kids loved!) at a reasonable price: we drove it from the marina all over the lake, docked it at the house, and launched it from there all afternoon one day. Several nice and kid-friendly restaurants nearby gave us a chance to get out for a meal as a family. The host's comprehensive and extremely helpful guide book gave us detailed descriptions and reviews of almost all the restaurants in the area, taking the guesswork out of finding a decent meal. A weekly farmers' market in Chestertown was a treat for both the adults and kids in our party. (A more prosaic supermarket is also nearby for basic provisioning) There are plenty of hiking options nearby, including several trails through NY state park within a short drive (i.e 5 - 20 minutes). Overall, this was one of the best vacation rentals that I have had over 20 years.

Perfect private home on the lake!!

This home was the perfect spot to spend a fun filled and relaxing 2 weeks. It was private, comfortable, homey, and had everything you needed. Appreciated the detailed guest book and labeling of everything. Left all the guess work out!

It was very clean, and the owner left a gift certificate to the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, which the grandkids loved. It is their favorite spot. We did a lot of kayaking, boating , swimming . hiking, s'mores by the fire and just had a lot of fun! Ate our usual Friday night pizza at the Panther Mountain Inn, and also tried the Bang Bang Shrimp at the Cafe Adirondack.

I would highly recommend this property and would love to come back next year.

This lake home was just perfect! Everything we needed or would think of needing was there. We didn't have the best weather but that didn't stop us from having a great time. We rented a pontoon boat from the Marina which was literally 5 mins by boat from the house. The fishing was great the lake is beautiful. We have stayed in the Adirondacks at many homes and this one was the best, and working with Realtor was a pleasure.

If your on the fence please try it you will not regret it.I cant wait for next year!

Lovely Home Away From Home on Loon Lake

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay here during the first weekend in October. The house is adorable -- very clean, organized and nicely decorated. It's cozy and comfortable. We loved the view of the lake from the master bedroom and drinking our morning coffee (Keurig & K-cups provided) with a beautiful lookout from the living room. It truly felt like a home away from home!

The owner of the house provided us with excellent customer service. Household items and areas were labeled for our convenience and any questions we had were answered in a detailed booklet he left on the kitchen table for us. He also provided us with a gift certificate to the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, where we had some great sandwiches and ice cream.

We are outdoorsy people, so we loved being on the lake and in the Adirondacks. We hiked Mt. Marcy (about an hour away) and visited nearby Lake Placid. And we absolutely loved kayaking on Loon Lake and taking in the beautiful sights and sounds, and at this time of year, the gorgeous foliage.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It's a relaxing getaway in a beautiful location. We had a lovely time and we hope to come back next year!
