Charming A-frame cabin nestled in the cool pines of Northern Arizona, just 20 minutes south of Flagstaff and 30 minutes from Scenic Sedona. This cabin is located in a community in Munds Park, 120 miles north of Phoenix in the Coconino National Forest.
Escape the heat during the hot Phoenix summers! Plan a visit to Pinewood Country Club, which has a scenic 18-hole championship golf course. Or enjoy a brisk winter's stay and ski the slopes at Snowbowl, located 7 miles north of Flagstaff. Whether you want to go hiking or sightseeing in Sedona, fishing at Lake O'Dell, or rent ATV's and snowmobiles, you can experience all that the forest has to offer.
Our A-frame cabin retreat offers a master bedroom which features a queen-sized bed on the main floor across from the main-level bathroom. Large loft bedroom upstairs has three twins beds and a full bed. Fully stocked kitchen, plenty of seating, outdoor grill and wood burning stove.
We are originally from Kirkland, Washington, but now reside in Phoenix, Arizona with our five children. Our family enjoys traveling, especially between Arizona to Washington.
This cabin is perfect for us when we want to get away from the big city and disconnect from everyday hustle and bustle.
I was torn between giving 4 stars or 5. The place is great! In a quiet neighborhood and pretty
close to all the area has to offer. We, at first, thought we made a mistake locating so far
from Sedona. After we saw how overcrowded and touristy the town of Sedona actually was
we were glad that we found a place away from all of that. We didn't want to begin and end our days
dealing with long lines of traffic in and out of Sedona. The cabin is about 45 minutes from Sedona,
20 minutes from Flagstaff, and less than 2 hours from the Grand Canyon. That worked out great for
us. We were able to bypass all of the traffic to get to our many hiking destinations.
The only downside of the cabin, and the only reason I considered 4 stars, was the heating situation at the house.
It depends on a wood stove in one corner of the large living room to heat most of the house.
There also was 4 very small, inefficient electric wall heaters
located in strategic places but didn't seem to do much in such a wide open place. Though we were grateful for it
in the bathroom where it worked well if we kept that door closed. The temperature got down to the 40's at night
and after a while we got used to staying dressed warmly, even inside, which we never even think about in San Diego, where
we are from. I got to learn how to keep a fire going and keep the wood stocked and ready to use at all times. Thinking
ahead so we could start a fire as soon as we got home is something I have never had to do before. Unless you are used
to the cold, and dealing with it, I might not recommend this place for the winter cold. Keep in mind I am city raised in San
Diego, 3 blocks from the ocean, and am quite spoiled by our very moderate weather.
In review. The cabin is great. Well taken care of. Quiet neighborhood. Great location. If you need extreme heat to
survive the cold you might look for a warmer house elsewhere in same neighborhood.
This charming cabin was described perfectly by the owners. My small family of 3 had tons of room to spread out for 3-1/2 days. We had such a terrific time! Our dogs didn't budge from their beds right in front of the fire. Our daughter loved having the top floor to herself and her dolls. Such a cozy weekend! And Paula was available when we needed her during a pinch. (Thanks so much!). We will definitely be back!

Cozy, adorable cabin. It had everything we needed for a great stay! Great location hidden away in the forest with just a 15 minute drive to the city!
My stay at this adorable cabin was wonderful! If quite and relaxation are what your looking for, this is the place. Flagstaff is close enough for anything you need but the owners have already thought of everything you may need for your creature comforts. The owners are only a phone call away and are friendly and helpful. I will definately be back and will recommend this place to everyone!
My husband and our 4 children ranging from age 18 to 11 had a wonderful weekend in Munds park. The home was just enough room for us all- Kids in upstairs loft and parents downstairs. One bathroom was hard to share but it was clean and very nice. We loved being close to mountain biking trails and in the cooler weather. We had a little trouble with the water heater the first day but they were very quick to respond and helped us out. My youngest son loved the board games available and the tether ball. The neighborhood is quiet and in a good location. Thanks for a great weekend.
Our family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful A-frame home just south of Flagstaff! The home is absolutely beautiful and has every amenity you can imagine! You have a relaxing living area, a full kitchen, a master suite, a beautiful spa-like bathroom, a wood stove, and a loft sleeping several kids or even adults. The owners are wonderful, very accessible and will help you in anything you need. We loved the wooded scenery around the home as well as the proximity to Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Arizona Snow Bowl and other area sites. It was always nice coming back home after a long day of sightseeing! Thank you again for making our spring break in Arizona so memorable!
