About Richard and Nathalie

We are a professional French couple living in New York who, like you, enjoy travelling and the unusual.

Richard and Nathalie purchased this villa in 2005

Why Richard and Nathalie chose Yelapa

When we saw the location of this house which was originally a shack we immediately fell in love with the place and decided on the spot that this would be the site of our vacation home in Mexico, a people and culture we are much drawn to. The only thing we have regretted since then is not being able to be there more often.

What makes this villa unique

We, our guests, our friends all value the open air feeling of the house, nestled between the panoramic view ocean and the jungle of the mountain.... all in the middle of a beautiful garden

Beautful home in relaxing Yelapa

  • 5 of 5

Casa Coco was a wonderful home base for our family of six. The house was well equipped for our family, and Richard was very helpul and responsive with questions we had. Felipe picked us up in his boat from the Marina in PV and took us directly to the casa which was very helpful. It is also very easy to take the water taxis if on a budget. Keep in mind that Casa Coco is on “the point” in Yelapa, and therefore a pretty long, fairly rugged (but gorgeous) 20 minute walk from town.

Beautiful views , secluded

  • 4 of 5

The house was great the only problem we had was there was no internet for half the week and the tv/DVD player didn’t work at all . Adults didn’t mind but the kids did . All and all a beautiful experience.

Owner's Response: Hello Matthew....we thank you for your candid and prompt review. We apologize for the inconvenience which you experienced at Casa Coco regarding the Internet which failed during part of your stay.....a service which most of us have come to rely on very seriously. Although we do what we can to provide the best and most reliable Internet connectivity available in Yelapa it is true the choice is very limited and that from time to time unfortunately the service goes down....reportedly mostly due to upgrades and repairs. I mention this on our Welcome Letter. We are glad, nevertheless, that you enjoyed your vacation at Casa Coco....best to you. Richard

Un petit coin de paradis

  • 5 of 5

awsome beautiful casa

  • 5 of 5

We had an awsome stay at casa coco from march 25 - april 5.casa coco is a beautiful house and property located on a hillside in yelapa mexico, with a spectacular view of the bay.we were a group of 6 including 2 teen age girls,so the upstairs with the 2 single beds suited them perfect and the 2 bed and 2 bathrooms down stairs worked perfect for the 4 adults.kitchen and dining are open and bright to the open deck on front.we had a blast making some of our meals with music playing and wine flowing.our 1st night Yanet(one of the care takers)made a great dinner so we wouldn't have to cook.Filipe(yanets husband and the other care taker) was always available for info and any help we needed.Filipe also has a boat and is available for fishing and excursions.we had him pick us up in pvr and take us back when it was time to go home, just because of our luggage.there is regular water taxis, but we felt it more convenient to use Filipe.the casa is about a 15 min walk from the village, where you will find grocery stores and several resturants.the main beach is about a 1/2 hr walk from the casa.there is another small beach which is a 5 min walk.we preferred the main beach as there are resturants and bars there where they serve you right on your beach chairs.all in all we had a wonderful trip.this was our 2nd time in yelapa and we love it there.if you have any mobility issues,be aware that casa coco is a good hike and lots of stairs up to the casa, but if you have mobility issues also be aware that yelapa is basically built on a hill side,so there are a lot of steep streets where ever you go.google yelapa mex for info.and check out casa coco, you won't be disappointed.we sure weren't

Situated on the mountain side, beautifully landscaped with an impressive garden, open air, gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

Casa Coco is a little piece of paradise situated up on the mountain side overlooking its colorful garden, the ocean and Yelapa bay. The steps lead you to the front of the house where you walk right into the open air kitchen and dining area. The yellow tiled counter top is huge and provides pleanty of space to prepare a large meal, which we did every night. Beautifully crafted home and clean. Our hosts Felipe and Yanet were genuine, accommodating and total sweethearts. We had a wonderful, peaceful time staying there! Muchas gracias!

Casa Coco: The best location in Yelapa

  • 5 of 5

After 8 days in Casa Coco, we plan to make this an annual getaway. Located a 10-15 minute walk from the village, Casa Coco provides the quiet solitude we enjoy, combined with easy access to everything Yelapa has to offer. A five-minute walk to Playa Isabel and you are swimming, snorkeling, or fishing. Ten minutes further and you are at the market, Pollo Bollo, Mimi's, Glorias, Los Abuelos, or Tacos Yolanda. Eat as much as you want because the walk up the hill will work off that extra quesadilla or Corona. The view from Casa Coco is remarkable. Many mornings I sat on the veranda, drinking coffee, and watching the fisherman go out and then the tour boats come in. Have your camera ready for the parakeets, hummingbirds, and other avian life that visit the garden in front of the house. Thanks to Yanet, the house was always clean and tidy. I used the outdoor shower almost every day after snorkeling or fishing. Netting around and over the beds keep out most of the flying and crawling critters. Beware of the wily Mexican tejón! Follow the rules for food-based trash and food storage and you will be fine.

Yanet cooked two dinners and one breakfast for us. She is an incredible chef and a pleasure to be around. Phillipe captained the boat from Puerto Vallarta and back, and he took us on two excursions: One to go fishing and to eat at Arturo's in Chimo, another to the Marietas Islands for snorkeling. Phillipe is always on time. He's a great captain and fishing & snorkeling guide. And he's just plain fun to talk with.

Thanks, Richard and Nathalie, for letting us share your beautiful house and for all of the advice you provided. And great thanks to Phillipe and Yanet for making our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I look forward to seeing you again.

I highly encourage anyone who enjoys some privacy and solitude without remoteness to enjoy a visit to Casa Coco. Just beware: You might not want to leave.
