Photos and Description of this 7 bedroom holiday farmhouse in Enosburg - The Farmhouse

Farmhouse, 7 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 13-16)

Experience the tranquility of your very own PRIVATE VERMONT FARMHOUSE ESTATE nestled in its own 156 ACRES OF UNSPOILED LAND with breathtaking views of beautiful Mount Mansfield! We invite you to relax and enjoy our spacious and tastefully furnished 4400 sq. ft. 15 ROOM Farmhouse and let its elegant charm and beauty re-energize you with hope and optimism and take you back to a time when life was simple.

From the expansive deck, you can see wildlife meandering through your open fields, the quiet beauty of nature surrounding you and plenty of nearby Vermont winter sports awaiting your arrival! PERFECT FOR HUNTERS! By night, thousands of stars sparkle across the sky on a heavy blanket of white snow! The full moon rising is an unforgettable event.

Just inside the Farmhouse from the deck, the warmth from a crackling Soapstone Fireplace awaits you. The completely refurbished Farmhouse boasts 7 bedrooms (5 with queen beds, 1 with two twin beds and 1 with one twin bed) and 3 bathrooms large enough to accomodate up to 16 people very comfortably. All bedrooms are completed with antique beds, top of the line Vera Wang mattresses and finished with carefully chosen quilts, crisp white linens, extra pillows, bureaus and reading lamps.

From the upstairs bedrooms, take a walk down the open wooden staircase and upon entering the 'great room' the eye is drawn to the beautiful large planked floors, and exposed hand-hewn ceiling beams. Decorated with elegant (but not too fussy) country furnishings, plenty of sturdy rocking chairs, and the 52' FLAT SCREEN cable TV, this room is the perfect place to catch up on your favorite sports or a good movie. For those who aren't TV lovers, two other living rooms are available for conversation, reading, or a game of chess.

The expansive and newly appointed Farmhouse kitchen is complete with double convection oven, oversized Subzero refrigerator, dishwasher, and beautiful custom built pickled maple cabinetry. The kitchen is open to a large dining area which boasts a farmhouse table large enough to accomodate up to 16 people overlooking the Farmhouse, it's rolling hills and Mount Mansfield! The dining area also provides a Farmhouse sideboard/hutch complete with flatware, place settings, napkins and table linens, wine glasses, mugs, and a few other items necessary for your simple, or formal, dining needs. Our Farmhouse is complete with all bed linens, towels, washer and dryer, and a few extras. You need only bring your clothes and other personal items!

Head outside for a wonderful day of hiking to the top of your own mountain, or sitting waterside of your own on-site wading area and waterfalls! Settle down with a picnic near the water, lounge in the hammock for a lazy day nap in the summer, or go sledding with your family followed by a hot cup of cocoa or your favorite brew!!

While our Farmhouse is quiet and private, consider snowmobiling, we are near the VAST snowmobile trails! Also, our farmhouse is well-suited for hunting groups, and many other outfitters are available for various outdoor activities, including dog-sledding, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, sleigh rides, and snowmobiling. The Farmhouse is located approximately 20 minutes from Smugglers Notch ski area, 25-30 minutes to Jay Peak Ski Resort, 1 hour from Montreal, and 1 hour from Burlington. Just ask and we'd be more than happy to help make your plans. If you prefer other activities, we recommend local winerys for wine tastings, small cafe's, delis and other eateries, Fall corn maze, many Antique shops, Vermont products, golf courses within 5 minutes, various local artisans, and Art gallery. Most recently a local artisan and family business is now offering fresh made goats milk cheese, and Goats Milk Soap. Stop in to see the goat cheese production process and enjoy a wonderful conversation with a great family!

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

We had 16 people ranging in age just under three years to 86 years old and all had a great time. Angela and her husband were wonderful and prompt. We loved that there was a bedroom downstairs that was perfect for my parents. The other bedrooms were so cutely decorated. The kitchen is very well supplied with cookware and dishes. Just a wonderful place. Would definitely recommend it and would definitely rent it again.

The farm stay was wonderful.

  • 4 of 5

Six family constellations with ages ranging from 2 to 68 stayed in the farmhouse and everyone had a good time. We were there for a wedding in Montgomery and loved driving the back roads through the mountains to get to the parties and the wedding itself. The location was perfect for folks who like to explore surrounding towns and swimming holes. The smoothie shop in Enosburg Falls was a favourite for all. The coffee, the magazines, the vinyls, the cookies, and yes the smoothies.

We all fit comfortably in the farmhouse. We enjoyed the veranda and evening views, the kitchen and open concept dining area, the pool table and games area, the fire pit and walking the property. The farmhouse is an easy going stay with a good location.

Family get together to celebrate college graduation

  • 5 of 5

Fourteen family members traveled from out of town to attend my son's college graduation party. I live locally but did not have room in my home for everyone so they all stayed in this beautiful, spacious old farmhouse and it was just perfect for them. The kitchen/dining area was perfect for everyone to gather and socialize, and the young adults had fun playing pool and other games. There was plenty of sleeping space for everyone as well, and the location was perfect. They were only a few miles away from my home so it was very convenient for us to be able to spend a lot of time together without being crowded. I would definitely recommend this to others looking for a nice comfortable, spacious place for a large group to stay, and will definitely have my family stay there again the next time they all come to visit. Angela Wright was very good to work with, very accommodating and responsive.

Thanks for a great experience!

Our Ski week

  • 5 of 5

We have a family and friend group that get together to ski every year. West coast some years and Vt the others. We had 12 people and had a great time in this house. What a fantastic old, perfect, farm house. Lots of character and comfort. Last year was the long awaited trip to Whistler in the Canadian Rockies and we were only able to get a couple condos that were overcrowded when we all wanted to get together. This was the total opposite. Spacious and it absorbed all 12 of us with space to spare. I love to cook and nothing is better than one long table where we all could fit and enjoy our dinners and each others company. The house was great but more importantly I LOVED the dinning table. This will be a repeat. Couple cautions. The wireless was slow to inoperable. Not a big surprise living in Vt myself. We hooked up a lap top direct and were able to keep in touch with the world. (As if that is really good thing). Although, they need a bigger toaster! Enjoy, we will be back soon.

A rare find!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 17 people included three generations: 4 grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, in laws and 2 children/grandchildren. We spent the holiday season ( both Christmas and New Year's eve ) at the farmhouse. There was a Christmas tree set up when we arrived and boxes of decorations for us (an added bonus). Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We were very lucky to find a place that could accommodate such a large group so comfortably. A very rare find!! Bedrooms are spacious and well furnished and beds are comfortable. Those of us who had planned to do some skiing were a bit disappointed with the lack of snow but soon found other things to do. There are plenty of games to play ( pool table, foos balls, air hockey, jigsaw puzzles) and lots of room to sit and read. We ate almost all our meals at the house. We all took turns preparing meals. There is a huge well-equipped kitchen and a dining room table that could accommodate the whole gang. Groceries are 3 miles away and there is a small convenience store within walking distance. One of our best family reunions ever!! Many thanks to Angela and Dean.
