Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom. 6 Sleeps

Welcome to a cozy 100 year old farmhouse in the rolling hills of East Tennessee. This 3 bedroom 1 bath house is set on a working farm. Wake to roosters crowing and watch the fainting goat herd from the covered back porch. The kitchen and bathroom are newly renovated. The house features hardwood floors and unusual hardwood walls which are original construction. If you tire of relaxing on the wrap around porches you can sit by the wood burning stove and enjoy a movie or the wifi. A gas grill is available for barbecuing as well.

For those who love to explore the outdoors, East Tennessee offers many opportunities. Within 5 minutes drive is the newly opened Tweetsie Trail, a renovated railroad trail stretching from Johnson City to Elizabethton. Slightly further away there are many hiking opportunities with access to the Appalachian Trail, Laurel Falls, and Roan Mountain State Park. Hidden local favorites like the Blue Hole and the Beauty Spot are also nearby. Access to Watauga Lake is approximately 30 minutes away.

This property would make an excellent base for exploring the area or attending local college functions. It has a large backyard as well that could support the gathering of family or friends.

Though in a quiet country setting, the farmhouse is only about 10 minutes from Milligan College and Elizabethton. It is 15 from East Tennessee State University and Johnson City and 40 from Bristol.

It was wonderful! We had a great time!

The property is beautiful, secluded, but very welcoming. We had everything we needed and will definitely come back.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We used the farmhouse as a base to fish in the area. Convenient location and great access. Nice farmhouse with everything you need - fun to watch the goats and all the farm animals. The back porch is a great place to sit and relax.

Great backyard!

  • 4 of 5

The owner is very friendly and has a great property. We had a wonderful time and want to return. I am all about rustic and the outdoors, however wasps made their way into the house a couple of times. Also, the front porch needs some minor repair. All minor issues I'm sure the owner will fix as he seems diligent. Otherwise would have been a solid 5.

Great family friendly farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

My four kids, husband and I enjoyed our 4 days on the farm. There was more than enough room for our large family. My 18month old loved yelling at the goats, and the older kids loved exploring the property.

Lovely secluded home close to anything you need

  • 4 of 5

This was a lovely home in the country but very close to anything we might need. We booked for three generations under one roof and really enjoyed the property. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of common space to hang out together. I have no complaints. It is not the Ritz, no fancy countertops and designer linens, but it was picturesque, comfortable and easy. I'd totally recommend staying here for a little comfort away from home.
