About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 5-7)

Portside Resort is an established “family friendly” complex with 16 acres of palm trees, 3 swimming pools (one heated for year round swimming), a baby pool, hot tub (also accessible year round), fitness center, shuffleboard and 3 tennis courts - with easy access to the beautiful, white sandy beach across the street. Great for walking, riding bikes throughout the tropical condo area.

It is located on the desirable west end of Panama City Beach, only 15 minutes from our new international airport. It is within 3 miles of Pier Park with all its specialty shops, Grand Theater, and restaurants overlooking the gulf. Frank Brown Park is 5 minutes away with its own huge pool, tennis courts, baseball and softball fields and lots of walking trails. Two four star restaurants are within 2 miles, with great seafood! McDonalds, Winn Dixie, and Walmart are just a few minutes away. Also close are: golf courses, miniature golf, Gulf World, Zoo World, Wonder Works and Ripley's Believe It Or Not. You can rent scooters, jet skis or go parasailing if you wish. Also, Sandestin with it’s famous outlet mall is 30 minutes away.

G-5 (our unit) is located in the middle of the complex, between the tennis courts and the back pool. It has the advantage of being a little more quiet than the front area, and still within easy walking distance to the beach. The patio faces a beautiful lagoon with the back pool on the other side of the lagoon.

Our Master Bedroom has a queen bed with a private balcony; the second bedroom has one twin and one trundle bed. Both rooms have their own TVs w DVD capability. The full bath adjoins both rooms, with a separate vanity in the Master suite. The large first floor living area opens onto a patio, and has a pull out sofa, dining seating for 6 plus a breakfast bar, and a fully furnished kitchen with microwave, blender, icemaker, and coffee maker. There is a TV w DVD and cable, and high speed internet w WiFi. The whole downstairs is set up for family fun and games, as well as easy access to food!

We are pet friendly (for a well-behaved pet up to 20 lbs). We invite you to come and bring your family for a truly memorable vacation. There is certainly something here for everyone! This is a non-smoking unit. Smoking is only allowed outside on the patio area.

I am from Bowling Green, KY, where I am a retired nurse and full time real estate investor. I love to dance, play bridge and spend time with my 3 daughters and their families, who live nearby.. We have a lake within 30 miles of us, but travel to PCB for sandy beaches and spectacular sunsets over the ocean.

Why Barbara Vinson chose Florida

Our family has been vacationing on the Emerald Coast for years and I purchased this unit when SouthWest Airlines made flights very affordable and easy to get here. I love having the pools and hot tub within walking distance, and the easy access to beautiful white beaches.

Pier Park Mall is just minutes away. It has incredible shopping and dining opportunities. The Frank Brown Ball Park is only 2 miles down Back Beach Road, and is used frequently for ball tournaments.

There is a wonderful homemade doughnut shop just down the road that is too, too good, but you have to get there early to avoid long lines!

I am proud of the way the property is maintained. It has a wonderful, strong and positive recommendation from all the locals as one of the "best maintained resorts in PCB". 16 acres of palm trees and the beautiful pools are showcased by the love and care of the staff and property owners.

Definitely a 'family' place to stay!

What makes this condo unique

We love that the unit is in walking distance to the beach...no need to start the car. Also love to sit on the couch, or be at the dining table and look out at the lagoon and the luscious landscaping through the sliding glass doors. Or better, to have meals on that patio in the shaded beauty of Florida palms.

There are wonderful consignment shops, a huge shopping mall, lots of restaurants and specialty shops close by. We are about 5 miles away from the heavily trafficked areas of the college youth and bikers. close enough to get to if you wish, but far enough away to enjoy privacy and peace, with the beauty of the beach.

The airport is only 15 minutes away. We have all the comforts of home right here waiting! There are lots of things to do and to discover while you are here...or you can truly relax and just enjoy the sun, sparkling waters of the Gulf and the white sandy beaches.

My 12 year old son and I absolutely loved staying at this townhouse !

We have stayed at portside for years and by far this one was our favorite! The back area is so private nothing but wet lands. The walk to the front pool and ocean is very close! I loved how it was decorated so peaceful! The owner even keeps a binder full of maps and great restaurants to eat at ! I loved her recommendation of the donuts and the Mexican restaurant great margaritas! The owner is quick to respond if you have any questions ! She even txted back as I was letting her know we were leaving she said have a safe trip back home! I plan on going back soon and hopefullly she has availability! Nicest owner ever with a wonderful home ! I love Panama City beach hope to live there someday 😊

Not the experience I was hoping for

Booking this condo was easy, the owner was super responsive and kind in her messages. Upon arrival, we opened the door and were greeted with the smell of smoke. I quickly sent a message to the owner asking if it was a non-smoking unit. We have a child with asthma, so I always check before renting. I almost instantly got a phone call from the owner letting me know the previous renters had admitted to smoking on the patio with the door open. She let me know her cleaners had caller her earlier in the day, had done everything they could, even spraying down everything with fabreeze and bringing in extra people to mop and vacuum twice. She suggested we air the condo out, so we opened the door, but that only made it worse as the patio furniture smelled horribly. We got permission to change the filter in the air conditioner from the owner (who apologized again), then we took off to the store to buy OdoBan spray and a free-standing air filter for our asthma kiddo. When we returned, we sprayed everything down with OdoBan and turned on the air filter. The odor started to dissipate, and we all settled in for the night. The next morning we opened the kitchen cabinets to find dirty dishes. We found them in the dishwasher as well. I texted a photo to the owner to let her know and she again apologized, stating not everyone is as nice as they sound and she'd let her cleaners know. My husband and I spent the next hour washing dishes and looking for dirty pots and pants so we could make breakfast. Ultimately, I found myself cleaning way more than I ever wanted to on vacation. The owner was very responsive and apologetic, but nothing was done otherwise to fix the issues we encountered (no cleaners sent to wash dishes, no reimbursement for cleaning supplies we purchased, etc). Owner stated there wasn't much she could do being out of state. Outside of this, the condo is decent. The kitchen was well stocked. No garbage disposal, all foods like cereal have to be thrown in the trash. The full size washer/dryer were nice. Packing and bringing your own towels was a pain for a family of 5. I would have paid extra for towels. The linens and beds were ok, and the bathrooms clean. The entire condo needs a deep cleaning; cobwebs in corners of the ceiling, dust bunnies in the laundry area, and marked up baseboards are easily fixed. The patio view is nice. Extra $10 parking fee upon arrival. We appreciate the owners apologizes, but this wasn't the experience I wanted on vacation.

The Perfect Vacation

The condo was very clean and just right across the street from the beach. The complex is very well maintained. Our dog loved Dog Beach, just right of the pier across from Pier Park. It was perfect. We ate at Pompano Joes, The Back Porch, and Pineapple Willys. All of them were delicious. Barbara was very quick to call or text when we had questions. Thank you for sharing your condo with us and we will definitely be returning.

We had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect. The beach is just right across the street. We ate at Pompano Joes, The Back Porch, and Pineapple Willys, and they were all wonderful.
