About Anna Ringsted

My name is Anna Ringsed, born in Akureyri, largest town in the north of Iceland, but live in Reykjavik. I founded and ran a antique store, Friða Frænka, for 33 years. I decided to close it down and do something new, but still have my hands in old stuff. My store was located on the first floor of this house for 28 years. I have two kids, one beautiful grandson and a dog. I love to go horseback riding and travel.

Anna Ringsted purchased this studio in 2003

Why Anna Ringsted chose Reykjavik

This house has followed me for over 33 years and I have owned it since 2003. Today I own the top floor. The reason I wanted this house is that it is a old wood house with history.

What makes this studio unique

The apartment is located, in my opinion, in the most beautiful part of Reykjavik. I have, since I moved to Reykjavik, lived in the city centre, but this location is my favourite. History is all around it and the house it self has a story of it's own.

Best place EVAR

  • 5 of 5

Anna was wonderful--she was very responsive and helped me through a complicated reservation. The apartments (we stayed in both of them) are absolutely delightful, and were clean, airy, and had great personality. The coffee shop below the apartments is SO good, and the location was right around the corner from a little town square, and walkable to everything. I really can't say enough about both the place and the owner.

The perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this spot, it's so perfectly located and you can walk to anywhere in reykjaví from here. Lovely views, great for watching the people in the street below or the sky at night. If we find ourselves in Reykjavík again, we would not hesitate to book here a second time. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect Home in the City!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is above a lovely cafe, it is very central, perfect for seeing the city. It is really stylish and very clean with a nice shower room, balcony, free wifi and the bed was perfect, really comfortable. I will definitely be going back, there was no parking for our car but we were able to use a park house in the day and the street was free at night so there was no problem. Wish I could return to Iceland today!

Perfect Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Been a while since we stayed, but I figured I better write a review, because it was such an excellent place to stay! It is perfectly located downtown. Walking distance to everything we wanted to see! It is situated right above Stofan Cafe, so the days that we toured around downtown, we would wake up in the morning grab a coffee to go and begin the tour. Walking distance to Hallgrimskirkja, Harpa, City Hall, the harbour. Catch a ferry to Videy. Walking distance to bars and restaurants. So many shops to wander through in downtown. It is also walking distance to Laundromat Cafe, so you can sit down and have a bite/ drink while you wash your clothes. That helped us save room packing for the trip! I never notice until later, but there is a medical center just around the corner. Tourist Information Center is also right beside the apartment. The apartment itself is perfect! Nice and clean, well maintained, well stocked. Some days were a little cooler being it was September. I went out on a mountain biking trip one day and it was snowing. I got back to the apartment and it was nice and warm and cozy in there. It doesn't take too much from the radiant heaters to get it nice and warm! It is located downtown so weekend nights are busy. Not noisy, but it is a busy area. The nights we didn't go out, or the days we rented a car to tour out of Reykjavik, it is nicely located to prop up by the heaters and the windows, and people watch while we got caught up with family back home. lol. The price is great, and it would have been even better if the Canadian dollar wasn't so poor right now. We only stayed a week and we had plenty of things to do! We ran out of time, so we plan on going back to see more of Iceland, especially the Secret Lagoon, we were on our way, missed the turn off and ran out time that day, lol. And we will definitely be staying in Anna's Apartment

Perfect Apartment in Central Location

  • 5 of 5

WOW, this place looks like something out of a magazine! Such a beautiful studio in the heart of the city. Anna was very great to work with and even provided us with a crib for our 1 year old. A great value in Reykjavik, highly recommended!

Loved this Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

My husband's reaction when we open the door of the apartment was 'SCORE!'. I was a bit worried since he was running the Reykjavik Marathon and he tends to be very fussy about the comfort of the bed, location, noise level, etc. It was bright, clean and in the heart of everything, but truly felt like an oasis. We travelled with my 12 year old son and the pull out couch was extremely comfortable (really!).

We are hoping to return to Iceland and will certainly look to stay here again. We stayed in 4 different places throughout Iceland during our trip and this was our favorite.
