This was the most amazing apartment we ever could have found in Florence (Firenze)! We are a family of 4 with our kids in their 20's. The location was perfect, right in the middle of the city. We were in walking distance of everything! We even walked from the train station with all of our luggage (OK, I would only suggest this if you have strong 20 yo's to help out). Yes, there are a bunch of stairs, but who cares! The apartment is better than the pictures could ever depict. We loved going up to the top terrace (yes there is more than 1) to enjoy a bottle of chianti and talk about all of the sights we enjoyed during the day.
Stella was such a wonderful hostess. Upon our arrival she showed us everything in the apartment, then took us to the top terrace and talked about the history of the city and all of her favorite places to visit. It made our adventures so much more fun. Stella shared her favorite restaurants, shops and especially her favorite gelato place. She also shared one of her most amazing typical Firenze sauces with us. It made a delicious dinner for us all to share.
We had so much room for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped. There was even detergent available for the washer. OK, Americans, there isn't a dryer. There is a large rack on the middle terrace and we got imaginative with other places to have our clothes to dry.
My husband and I are already talking about when we might be able to return.
You will not be disappointed if you rent this wonderful apartment.
Up top for the Best
Had a lovely stay in Florence at this location. The view from the terraces are just stunning and the location is right in the middle of town and close walking to absolutely everything. The unit is well furnished and beds and showers are quite good. Stalla - the Manager is very helpful and friendly. The one word of caution is this is a 4th floor apartment, there are about 100 steps to get up to the unit.
Our favorite of the places we stayed in Italy
Hands down, our favorite place of the 3 homes we stayed in while visiting Italy. There were 6 in our group: My husband and me, my mother and aunt, and our 2 teenage boys. The apartment is roomy and comfortable. The boys didn't have to share a bed. The kitchen is a bit small, but still adequate for breakfast preparation. Being so close to the Duomo and the hub of Florence was very convenient as we had many choices for restaurants, cafes, ATM, groceries--all within walking distance. The walk to and from the train station was not long--10 to 15 minutes, so we didn't bother with a cab.
The 4 flights of steps were not bad; but be prepared for them. And, once in the house, there are several more flights--into the living area, and the bedrooms upstairs, and again to the glorious top terrace where you have a 360 degree view of the city. Consider the steps a warm up for when you walk up the Duomo.
The best part is Stella, our lovely host. She made us feel very welcome and is the nicest person we met in Italy. She gave us a mini history lesson on the building--ask her how old the giant wooden doors are at the entrance to the building. It was the end of summer, so Stella used the last of her basil to gift us the most wonderful pesto; my son practically licked the container clean. We were very fortunate to receive such a treat.
We highly recommend this apartment and Stella. We would definitely stay here again.
Beyond our expectations.
My family of 5 stayed hear and could not have been more happy with all it has to offer. The apartment is steps from the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, Ognissanti and Bigallo so you are truly in the heart of old Florence (Firenze). The views from the patios are amazing. And, Stella (who helps watch over the apartment) is most helpful in giving suggestions where to go and what to do.
We hope to return!
Best vacation stay I have ever had!
My stay here in Florence was amazing! Stella is one of the kindest, most amazing person I have ever met and her kindness and generosity to me, my sister and mom when my mom was really having a hard time and needing medical attention was more than anyone could have ever expected. We are so thankful and on top of it all, the place was the most beautiful I have ever stayed in with breathtaking views.
Gorgeous apartment in amazing location!
The apartment is located between the Uffizzi and the Duomo, perfect for walking to most sites in Florence. It is on the top floor - so be aware there is no elevator! We got used to the climb, even one of us who had a cane, and certainly kept our legs in shape. The apartment is on several levels and has lots of deck space, the views are spectacular! Sitting at the top level, enjoying the sights and the bells and occasionally daytime street music, is a great way to end a busy day. One of the highlites is the host. She made sure we understood the property and were comfortable. She is a wealth of information about her city and brought us a delicious specialty bread to try. Clearly above and beyond the normal VRBO treatment!
