Great Views

  • 4 of 5

There is definitely 123 steps to the apartment. No elevators so you actually have to walk them. After a long day of walking around town, each day I thought "Ugh, the stairs." But I love to work out and the views made it all better. My kids (17, 19, 21, 22) didn't mind them at all. The worst part was carrying the luggage up and down. We were told that Ana was to meet us at the apartment. When we arrived she was not there. We called and no one answered. Luckily there was someone waiting for their tenants so he helped us make contact with Stella about 30 minutes later, who was waiting at the apartment to let us in. (Just remember, just press the apartment marked Maximo - it's the top left button. It rings the apartment). Also, the walk from the train station does not take 5 minutes, as Ana tells you. It's probably a good 15-20 minute walk. Stella was super sweet and helpful. She lives next door so if you needed anything, she is willing to help. She even made us her famous pesto pasta. Actually, we had pesto gnoochi. The kitchen is small with a few pots and pans, dishes for 5, microwave and frig. But enough to cook breakfast everyday. Wifi was ok but only in the living room. Beds were a little on the harder side, but not bad. Would I stay here again? Ya - but only for the views.

Rooftop paradise in perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was the perfect combination of old world charm and modern comforts with everything we needed to feel right at home. This was by far the most spacious apartment we've had in Europe in this price range, and having 3 different levels of private terraces to enjoy was a huge treat! Yet, we could not have been any closer to the main attractions, with El Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio just a few short blocks away. We walked to everything. The owner and his representatives were very communicative and friendly throughout the process, and the neighbor on site, Stella, did everything possible to make us feel cared for and comfortable throughout our stay. She also happens to be a delightful person to talk to and an expert on the history of Florence, which definitely added to the experience. Cannot wait to return!

This apartment was perfect for our 4 night stay in Florence. The location is ideal and our group of 6 found plenty of space between the multiple balconies and the three bedrooms. Stella was indeed a gracious and informative neighbor/host. Air conditioning was great in the main area, though the upper bedrooms were warm in June as they were only cooled by fans. We enjoyed many coffees and glasses of wine while staring at the Duomo from the main balcony. It was helpful to have a washing machine, though be prepared for long wash cycles.

Thank you!

Amazing place!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this apartment. The location is great and the views from the terraces are stunning! We also appreciated all the space - it's a big place with lots of room for the five of us.

The neighbour Stella was wonderful. She met us and took us around the apartment, giving us some interesting information about Florence and it history. On her recommendation we went across the river and up the hill on the other side to the church on our first afternoon. This gave us a view of the city and was great for getting us oriented. She also brought us pesto which we had with pasta for dinner one evening and it was fantastic! Such a lovely person - thanks a million Stella!

The apartment is perfectly located to see Florence and everything is within walking distance. The only drawback is the stairs - there are a lot of them! You don't want to forget anything when you go out! But we thought that it was totally worth it to get those views.

We had three days in Florence and I think we probably tried to see too much. There are a lot of art galleries and museums and sometimes you just need time to wander and relax a bit instead of racing from one place to another. On the other hand, we were glad to have seen all that great art. Re food, there is a reasonable grocery store nearby and the restaurant right downstairs - I have forgotten the name but Stella referred to it as her "second kitchen" and it has yellow signs - is quite good and reasonable.

I would recommend this apartment to anyone but especially if you like to have lots of space and a great view.

Very Nice Place with Great Views and Very Clean

  • 4 of 5

This place is really cool. It is about 125 steps up from the street and then another 25-30 steps within the unit, no elevator. This didn't bother us at all because the place had two great decks with awesome views and was right in the center of the tourist area in Florence. Great location! The caretaker or owner lives right below this unit and is so nice and helpful. The only items that can be improved are: 1) Better WiFi coverage - since the unit has several levels and the building I s solid, wifi coverage outside of the main family room is weak. They should get the Eero system for better coverage. 2) the main bedroom bed really bounces when your spouse moves even a little. I would get a new mattress and upgrade to a king size. Other than these two items, we loved it.

Great Location not so great owner

  • 3 of 5

Our family just stayed in Florence and this place is a great location with great views. Had we not met Stella my review would have been much different. We would have given it more stars had the owner and manager, Anna, been more professional. The other places we stayed on our vacation to Rome all had great communication, did we need transportation, where we had to check in etc. Basic details. This place, not so much. We didn't know where the property was, how to get there, where to check in and get the key. We had to involve Homeaway because the owner and manager, Anna, would not return emails or phone calls, to us or even Homeaway when they became involved. When Homeaway finally reached the owner, an hour before our arrival, the 3 of us were on a conference call, the owner was rude and had his voice raised and said a some very unflattering things to the point where Homeaway said they would help us if we needed a new place. He told us the manager, Anna, would be in contact, but no one ever heard from her. We felt very unwelcome and I had spent half the day trying to communicate with the owner/manager. The only contact we had with him was for our payment. We agreed to give it a chance and that is when we met Mirastella. She was such a lovely person and like the other reviews posted, she was so accommodating. She walked us around and told us where to eat, sights to see etc. Had it not been for her our days in Florence would have been much different.

The apartment is located in a perfect spot for walking to almost anywhere. The views were spectacular. 360 degrees of Florence. There are many steps to get there, but well worth with. The apartment was clean and cozy. Highly recommend being on the terrace at least one night for a sunset...priceless!
